Reality is that China and Korea and Japan know they can conquer the gaming market easily with almost no competition since they don't focus on DEI and rather focus on story and gameplay rather than DEI.
Recently, Japanese games have been caught up in DEI. I have yet to see Chinese and Korean games involved in it.🤔
Not Japan though. They've lost the sauce. Bandai Namco won't keep their games alive for more than 2 years on average. Shit in quality. I'd still expect good ones from smaller companies like for visual novela. But for major games? Pokemon is barely above slop for the past decade. Economy is downward, fast. Labor cost is the highest among the 3 East Asian countries. Wukong is worth 70M because chinese devs and artists have been godlike. Bilibili is filled with high quality craftsmanship from portfolio shows of vids. And the cost of living is artificially kept low by the government.

Yeah the hit feedback feels very lackluster, I want more umph out of it. Everything else looks good though. But that hit feedback alone is enough for me not to want to buy it, doesn't satisfy me.

Anyone looking on youtube for "Ballads of Anatara" in a few days will see Asmons video. Which I'm sure the dev team will get notified of some of these things pretty quickly if they have a decent social media manager.
Any feedback, at that stage of development, is better than nothing.
The gaming world as a whole is pretty small, and Asmon has a tendency to put videos up on Trending in Gaming a lot, so it isn't a stretch to think the devs could see it.

This new Faerun is nothing like the Faerun I grew up with, its not the same world, not the same setting and characters. Wizards of the Coast killed Faerun and D&D a long time ago. RIP D&D. The last good CRPG in a setting of D&D was Neverwinter Nights 2, hell even Sword Coast was a better D&D game than BG3. Didn't play BG3 and never will, frack that gay crap.
I rather replay the older games, which are better, than play these slops they put out today. In fact, I'm currently replaying Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 (the PC ported version from GoG) and its a great ARPG from the Golden Age of gaming.

At first I thought that combat was looking as bad as this crimson desert game but it's growing on me, visuals are insanely good which will surely carry it even if combat somewhat scuffed currently.
PS5 getting strays for no reason. Unreal Engine has always had optimization issues on consoles and PC. There is a reason why Fromsoft uses their own engine, you can make it very good in the specific things you develop for while Unreal has to be a jack of all trades.
The real problem is that if today gaming was like 15 years ago gaming, this would be a solid 6-7 game.
With the landscape nowadays it's probably approaching 8-9.

I am perfectly ok with the market being saturated with Elden Ring clones. As long as developers focus on good games and give the middle finger to woke trash I will continue to support newer games.

On the one side, this game is good in distancing itself from the mobile-like flashy numbers and attacks that made Asian games look cheap. On the other, those wax faces will never cease to be negative uncanny valley. Asian games really need to give up the wax faces and move to less glaring visuals.

if u think that elden ring raised the bar too much for that italian game, just compare it to DS1. and its still bland, no story, boring combat, no idea, waste of time. in DS1 u had well defined characters and places put together with captivating story. there were engaging combats. here u have absolutely nothing.
I'm just happy that games that adopt the Sekiro defense style deflection are finally emerging. Sekiro combat mechanics should have produced a genre of its own but it just fades out back then.

I think the attack animations are fine, it's less flashy because i think they want to go for more realism with this setting and that kind of sword fighting style, what is good tho is that you can really see the body parts react relative to what limbs he hits, which is good detail on that

I remember playing Betrayal of Antara as a kid on PC. Man, was that game hard. After watching this, clearly there's no relation between the two and I got SO excited when you first said the name.
Making great games because no one is pushing politics, just producing entertainment. X /y companies gate keeping what is fun.
I wish I was able to make money on TH-cam and play games all day. Instead I have to work all night for 12-14 hours moving thousands of pounds of frozen and dry foods while driving them to different locations in trucks. Online gamers and TH-camrs have life on easy mode.

If locking on during specific animations is causing you to not be able to see certain abilities, then just get good and don't lock on during those abilities? Dark Souls and Elden Ring do that and those games are beloved. If you're a melee character then of course it's going to be hard to see right up in a massive enemies face.
