    Disappointing that you need to pay HD for the CPU upgrade for something you installed yourself. I guess you could get it thrown in with your scheduled service as they need to hook it up anyway. On the other hand I live in Australia and heated grips when the lowest temperature you will ride in is about 35 degrees FH, even then just before dawn, is kind of a wasted luxury here. I might actually install them just for what looks to be added grip and thicker circumference. I don't get my Sportster S until the end of the week but the standard grips look really small for long fingers.

    The throttle side is the one I wanted to see , so you take all 3 screws out ? When you take the big screw out that tightens the whole clamp inside the module . Does it release any spring or anything , or when you put it back in does it go smoothly and tighten the clamp back up ??? Thanks

      @MotoNoggin  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No once you tighten everything back up, you’ll be fine. No spring or anything will let loose..

    • @MotoNoggin
      @MotoNoggin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to bring it to the dealer so they can update the ECM so it knows that you have the heated grips!

    Great stuff. Are the tactical grips any wider than the stock ones? I felt that stock ones were way too small for my hands.

    • @MotoNoggin
      @MotoNoggin  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I would say that there are a little bit thicker.

    the only problem is the Harley shop by me is full of idiots. I took it up there and asked for the tech update. They had no clue . They hooked it to their computer and everything went black.
    The bike would not do anything.
    After about a hour they got my bike running again.
    This would be so much easier if it was plug in play or if i could just load the software via the usb-C port.

      You should call Harley directly. That’s BS man.

    Do you feel like needing Loctite on the screws? And did you use a torque afterward? Thanks

      @MotoNoggin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes on the Loctite! I didn't torque just tightened well.

      @@MotoNoggin I routed my cable through the side of the cover, are you saying you put the wire through the hole where the 'plug' was ? How can you put the 'new' plug in with a wire going through it !!?

    • @theboyfrost
      @theboyfrost 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think we are talking about different things......I don't mean removing the blank for the grip connector (white with a few red cut off cables in the end)............there is a 'plug' on the black housing that the instructions say to replace (and there is a new one in the pack with the grips) ...I just can't see any reason to swap it......I never touched the blank at all....

    Harley Davidson charged me an hour and a half to install these heated grips! Did it take you an hour and a half to install these?

    • @MotoNoggin
      @MotoNoggin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah about that probably an hour on the install and then they have to program the bike to recognize it so I would say an hour and a half is fair.
