Great vid . No bs , tuned in from Australia ✌️
Much appreciated
Thank you, This is helpful. will be installing on mine.
Glad it helped
Disappointing that you need to pay HD for the CPU upgrade for something you installed yourself. I guess you could get it thrown in with your scheduled service as they need to hook it up anyway. On the other hand I live in Australia and heated grips when the lowest temperature you will ride in is about 35 degrees FH, even then just before dawn, is kind of a wasted luxury here. I might actually install them just for what looks to be added grip and thicker circumference. I don't get my Sportster S until the end of the week but the standard grips look really small for long fingers.
Good stuff
Aaaaugh you showed the easiest side , now I’ll look for a video to do the throttle side
Thank for the video. What size torx holds the controls front covers?
Let me check
Great video! Only if every install can be like that.
Thx man!
Hi, nice video ! Do you know what size is the screw holding on the grip on (the one after the mirror screw)......I can't quite figure out what it is....
It's a tx55
@@theboyfrost so if I want to change the handlebars I need to find something that has the thread inside?
The throttle side is the one I wanted to see , so you take all 3 screws out ? When you take the big screw out that tightens the whole clamp inside the module . Does it release any spring or anything , or when you put it back in does it go smoothly and tighten the clamp back up ??? Thanks
No once you tighten everything back up, you’ll be fine. No spring or anything will let loose..
Hi bro, thank you so much for sharing this video , also can you tell me how to turn on that heated grips ? I have 2022 sportster S too also installed the heating grips with your videos help ,but mine is not responding when I push the left hand side button , I don't know what I have to do. If you can help I'll appreciate that 🙂
Oh the tech update, I'll try it after few date thanks
You have to bring it to the dealer so they can update the ECM so it knows that you have the heated grips!
Great stuff. Are the tactical grips any wider than the stock ones? I felt that stock ones were way too small for my hands.
Yes, I would say that there are a little bit thicker.
Thanks!
the only problem is the Harley shop by me is full of idiots. I took it up there and asked for the tech update. They had no clue . They hooked it to their computer and everything went black.
The bike would not do anything.
After about a hour they got my bike running again.
This would be so much easier if it was plug in play or if i could just load the software via the usb-C port.
You should call Harley directly. That’s BS man.
Do you feel like needing Loctite on the screws? And did you use a torque afterward? Thanks
Yes on the Loctite! I didn't torque just tightened well.
@@MotoNoggin that’s going to be my winter project! Thanks
Did you work out why you are supposed to replace the 'plug' on the throttle side cover ?
Yes u have to take the blank out it’s the one with red on the end.
@@MotoNoggin im confused ! Why do you have to take it out at all ?
@@theboyfrost to plug in the wire for the heated grip.
@@MotoNoggin I routed my cable through the side of the cover, are you saying you put the wire through the hole where the 'plug' was ? How can you put the 'new' plug in with a wire going through it !!?
I think we are talking about different things......I don't mean removing the blank for the grip connector (white with a few red cut off cables in the end)............there is a 'plug' on the black housing that the instructions say to replace (and there is a new one in the pack with the grips) ...I just can't see any reason to swap it......I never touched the blank at all....
Harley Davidson charged me an hour and a half to install these heated grips! Did it take you an hour and a half to install these?
Yeah about that probably an hour on the install and then they have to program the bike to recognize it so I would say an hour and a half is fair.
Took me 15 minutes to
dang I thought they came with heated grips from the factory!
Not really he case! Lol 😂
