Well I signed the paperwork two days after the announcement, still haven't gotten it as I live in Australia and it releases on January 15. I liked all of the features, it is a modern bike. I have never owned a Harley, never looked to own a Harley but I was looking for the best cruiser for a year when they announced this. I was about to buy the Honda Rebel on the same day but saw this and I was sold. A few negatives you mentioned I had already considered. Rear suspension, well Australia has really good road infrastructure compared to the USA, not a lot of potholes. Rider position, well it is a Harley man, the first aftermarket parts are already hitting the market and I will likely get a saddle seat and risers before I do any distance riding (I own a Triumph America and I am pretty much stuck with the rider position- the ability to change it would be perfect),
I like the bike. I can see it gaining popularity because of its tough stance and its tech features. Really, the only thing I don’t like is that thing at the back where the tail light is mounted along with the tag. I’m watching to see if there is some kind of after market answer to this. Like you say, and I agree, I doubt the rider of this would want to go much further than an hour at a time in the seat. 1 hour early on the way into work, another hour coming home. That’s the typical commute.

I think aftermarket rear shock will help with the suspension and I expect it to come pretty fast...
