      I'm now 69 and had my crf for 5 years now and still enjoying adventure riding with it. Used to have GS's 1100, 1200, 650, last one is an 800, got rid of them. The bike I love most is my CRF250L, with 18,000 km, still looking fresh from the dealer. Only mods I did were the hand guards, 13T front sprocket, and the rear rack, the rest all stock.

      I just bought a 2017 crf250l. First bike ever loving it. Here speed on hwy is 62mph i find their plenty of power for my taste, have not gone long distance yet so will reevaluate when time comes. For dirt road drives good and plenty of power for me at present time.

    Love my 2014 CRF250L, bought it used 3 years ago with 1,200 miles on it...no issues since. Came with a Seat Concepts seat, Zeta hand guards, FMF Q4 exhaust, and a few other items already installed. I installed a 42-tooth steel rear sprocket, EFI tuner and a ManRacks tail rack with 1 gallon Rotopack. It’s been super fun and easy to handle for forest service roads...way better than stressing over dropping my “ADV” bike. I learned a lot from Woodzman’s first CRF250L related videos...thanks, Frank!

    January 2016, I watched your review video on the CRF250L, I subscribed, then early Fall bought a CRF250L, and have enjoyed it ever since. Great value, super reliability, like you said. It is a great motorcycle, and you have made Woodzman Adventures become, a great channel to watch. Thank you for your hard work to your channel, especially here recently with the added work, that you and Mrs. Woodzman are going through on rebuilding your new home. Ride on!

    I have a 2017 Crf250L myself, wonderful and reliable bike. I am planning on making a 30,000 mile review in the coming weeks and it is nice to se others say the same things I would XD. Because of my height, I have a love hate relationship with this bike off-road but its pretty nice all things considered.

    Really great bike - would recommend to anyone interested in a good little dual sport! Loved mine since day one! I've had mine for 4 years now - it's fun and reliable, and practical for all road conditions. Mine sat out a whole winter, and I had to change a gasket in the fuel tank, and it's currently in the shop getting a new ignition, because the steering lock was jammed (probably rusted). Other than that - no problems.
    I'm thinking of selling mine since I got another bike and a car, but I really like the CRF and it hurts having to get rid of it. Just wish insurance here in Norway wasn't so damn expensive...

    I live in the Philippines now the best roads here are about like the one you was riding on, I have had my 250L for over a year now and is a perfect bike for the roads here. I rode Harley Davidson motorcycles in the US and thought about purchasing one here but the roads are not good for a big HD. You might really like a WR250R then. On paper it doesn't make a whole lot more power, but the way it does is more exciting, if that makes sense. It literally builds until you hit the rev limiter. I have the sumo version (WR250X) and its been the best motorcycle i've owned yet.

      I have the same bike same problem. Ordering new sprockets. Gonna try a 13 by 42. Should get some more power out of it. You can also get a new muffler, open up the air intake and I've heard something about a new fuel pump something or other that runs more fuel through it. There is definitely a lot you can do to get more power from it.

    • @samueljlarson
      @samueljlarson 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say go up to 48 tooth in the back. Easiest way to move power around and get some torque.

      Ya but me and my friend owned 250x the enduro bikes and they are a world apart . I can climb banks of rocky loose earth in 2nd gear on the x but the L only in first . The L has much less pull then the enduro crf250L . The L will be a mountain goat in 1st but like a goat it's a slow climb and sometimes it's speed that gets you up hills . So I think the same rider on different bikes does have a big difference. There's places I couldn't get the L but could get the x but the L is good enough in all areas so can't blame it for falling a bit short of a full enduro race bike

      Shouldn't have any regrets there. No fuel pump to fail on you, largest aftermarket, made in Japan and not Thailand. Last part matters, they had some issues with the design and/or build quality of some of the earlier CRF250Ls. Both are great bikes and choices today, and it's a tough call!

    I like the bike & its looks cool ! But it is gut less as hell ! I put a FMF pipe on my 2020 crf-250 La . It is tough as hell & looks fast & quick but very gut less as heck ! The pipe helped the throttle response ' Now i'm gonna get the after market air cleaner that allows the bike to get more air. Also gonna get the power commander that plugs right in under the seat to have my own control over the fuel mapping . Like the video here because he knows his stuff ! The things i've mention here are stuff of my choices ! Of trying to make my bike alittle bit more playful is all because i'll be ridings up in the woods more ! And also there is a really neat sprocket kit that comes in gold tone the matches the front upper forks ! The back spocket is only 2teeth bigger in back & the front. Counter spocket stays the same .

      Rajkiran Natarajan I have to say, I’m 12 and I use this for off-road only (obviously i can’t ride it on road) but I have to say I’m not an inexperienced rider and I’ve gone pretty hard on the 3 bikes I’ve had, it’s not generally that it can’t take off-road it’s just that the rider may be to scared to take it there, I’ve used it in some of the most bizarre and roughest trails I know of, plus it easily goes 120kmh (bout 85mph)

    I just got a go pro camera for the first time in my life. I filmed while riding my crf250l to go buy a pick up truck the other day for my first video ever, and on the ride I decided to talk a little about the 2014 crf250l I was riding. I road a couple wheelies up to 60 mph when I almost had a real bad day as I sat the front wheel back down to earth. I plan on getting a better internet connection so I can upload our group off road dual sport rides easier, on both the crf250l and my plated wr250f. Thanks to Woodzman and other awesome dual sport guys on here who own this bike, I have this bike outfitted just the way I need it, and will always want it. It is an awesome bike for even someone like myself who is experienced and raced motocross for many years, as he says this is also my favorite bike I have ever owned, included are mx bikes, Liter bikes, and cruisers. I plan on showing what this little red pig is capable of on film, and posting because so many people think its a dog and I assure you it is not. With the right rider it can outride almost everything through the woods with the average dual sport, or dirt bike rider on the other bikes. I know people think this bike sucks because I get stopped all the time at the local off road park I ride at, and people ask me how I like my new crf450l, when I tell them its a 250l they can not believe that this bike can ride like I was riding it. A lot of the time the rider is the weakest link, not always, but most times.

    I had a 15' and an 18' Crf250l. While I believe they are great bikes for the purpose they have, I just couldn't get over the gutless engine. Honda shouldn't have put a street engine in this bike. I bought a DRZ and am happier with that engine with the gobs of HP and torque. The CRF is a great bike, but people just have to know what they want to do before they buy, otherwise they have to learn the hard way like I did.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its pretty much depend on what you enjoy the most. The 250L is perfect for me. Plenty of power. I have rode with 2 strokes and larger 4 strokes and went as good as they all did.

    • @chuckbowen4334
      @chuckbowen4334 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The old 1980's Honda xl350 made 23 horsepower. The crf250 is rated at 25. The old 350 was a 5 speed. The crf is a 6 speed. The old 350 was carburator. The crf is fuel injected. Basically, it's a better bike. If you want crazy power, get a crf450. If you want insane power, get the crf1000. Warning though, the crf 1000 is a heavy beast. Like riding a tank through the woods. All it needs is the 120mm smooth bore gun.

      That did pretty good. I think it was about 5k but quite a bit of paved roads.
      The worst part was they was so loud on the pavement. Headache loud.
      Thanks for watching

      Why no abs?! I've seen the model without abs is a little cheaper.

      I just have alway riddin bike with out ABS, I don’t feel that it is something that I need and don’t want to pay more for it.
      For a new rider, I think it would be great

    Just out of curiosity how much did you sell the 2014 for? The used market on these bikes are ridiculous I haven’t seen one sell
    For less than $3500 and they’re hard to come by in my area In NC
