I loved this mission. The feeling of hundreds of allies and enemies made this feel like a real aerial war/invasion
For all the crap I've given AC6 in the past, it's the only AC game that's made me feel like I'm in a battle.
We only got to choose the plane for one wingman, but that made everything. Ace Combat 7 lost that character on me when no one called the player “Captain”

one of the things I like about ac6 is seeing the smoke trails from the missiles and jets run through the sky, it makes the battles look epic
Really wish the PS2 games had this.

I love how the dialogue between pilots start somewhat serious and as the story progresses, they develop a bond.

It's no worse than the previous games. Zero is infinitely more cringey than 6... And that's coming from someone who first played them when I was 22 or so.

Man, when you think about it, these national defense guys are pretty shitty, aren't they? Like, they have only one job. Protect the city. And they let a horde of hundreds of plane go into the heart of their capital city unnoticed. I mean, what were they doing? Sleeping on the job while the radar is beeping nonstop?
To be fair they were able to completely reduce an invading force before the nimbus missles forced a retreat. That's more than you could say for most other airforces in Ace Combat. But yeah, letting your enemy completely bypass all airborn defenses and bomb the hell out of your runway and capital is hilariously boneheaded.

The dialogue may be cheesy, but this game- specifically, this series on TH-cam- is what got me into the series. Hoping to eventually get my hands on it

Hard to belive this game was an Xbox 360 Exclusive back in 2007 seeing those amazing graphics.
It may not have been the best in the series, but from 3:05 - 6:35, this game had one of the best openings of any game in the series.

For some reason in AC7 they didn't do what they did here, in that game the smoke just disappears right away. Pretty lame.

I remember playing the demo which featured this mission countless times on the Xbox, since my parents weren't willing to buy it cause it was expensive. It was my favorite game and this video is super nostalgic

Still my favorite AC game in 2023, 4 years after Ace Combat 7 has been released. Pleasantly surprised how well it plays on Xbox Series X.
Same, the huge battles in this game (like Seige of Silvat) and the smoke effects, the Allied support stuff and the music too just blows away AC7.

I find it odd how within a minute or two after the bus left, Matilda’s bus is somehow on the bridge and Melissa assumes Matildas dead because she saw her bus. Then again this is coming from a guy who’s played the campaign to ac7 and still doesn’t know which side he was on in that war.
Like they live in a city, there's no way that bus made it there with bad traffic.

Yeah, it's ok. AH has more advanced graphics, (Especially on the PC version.), but it was kind of squandered because the art style and environment just doesn't look as cool. It seems to me that AC7 will have a visual feast at the same time as utter annihilation of Eruisian forces!

this scene reminds me of North Korea's suprise attack in June 25th, 1950. That's why I was able to be deeply immersed in this game.

This intro with the jets taking off is still one of the best… just behind the F-4 carrier take off in AC4.
For a game that's over 12 years old the graphics hold up extremely well.

I love how you maintain aircraft continuity throughout the entire gameplay.
Best graphics and aircraft details in the series outside of AC7 by far. Play 6 and then play 5 and You will see the difference, 6 is the only AC to have navigation lights on the aircrafts, I don't even think they are in AC7, I haven't seen any in any of the gameplay videos. I love 6, I'm so happy they have 6 as a pre-order bonus for XB1. It was a bad decision to make it an Xbox exclusive! If You haven't played 6 You need to!

The taxiing scene with the music is probably one of the most memorable things I took from this game.

Man, I play the PS2 trilogy all the time, this managed to be worse. You can see how good the new generation (at the time) was better on the gameplay, but in these cutscenes? Amateur af.
4:36 onwards is the best intro out of all the ace combat games. If they wouldn’t have included the cringe story this could have easily been the best entry in the series.
Ya see, I love the old games where your boss enemies or enemies in general are actually fighter pilots, and you feel like you're facing a fellow man, just fighting for what they believe in. Ace Combat 7 comes; DRONES. FUCKING DRONES.
Funnily enough, that's how it was in Ace Combat 2. It took for the remake Ace Combat Cross Rumble to finally introduce squadrons and human pilots, but Z.O.E. is quite old in the series.
And don't get me started on Electrosphere.

When I first played this game and saw the beginning cutscene I thought, "Oh is our character married to this woman? And with a child too? I like the change in pace." When I finished the the game throughout, all I could think of was "well what the fuck was the point of these characters? We never met the husband of Melissa and the father of Matilda nor was he even really mentioned in gameplay." They seemed to throw these characters in all for the disappointing minor role in the final mission. And they never made any attempt to give these characters some sort of role in the actual plotline. Garuda was only really mentioned once or twice in the cutscenes and not even by our "main characters." If you can even call them that.. I don't mean to sound triggered or rant, but I mean... come the fuck on Namco, you're better than that. ANYWAYS.... I'm done with that.. carry on. 😌
Pretty sure one of the Garuda took his place Viking style after killing whoemver shot him down. Hell, maybe someone shot the guy down, then the killer was shot down by AA or another Temerian pilot, who was in turn killed or saved by Garuda. Either way, they both just got a war hero as their husband and father, albeit Shamrock is crippled.

This is a great game. He flies these jets in ways that you might not want to do in real life. A great video and a great channel.

I used the F15 most of the time. It's much more stable than the other fighters.
Fun fact: Selct your target and hold triangle (or Y for Xbox) and the camera will follow the enemy making them easier to follow.

Wait, plot twist; what if Melissa's husband is Talisman? It could make sense ie, he could've flown a different plane as someone else could've taken his Hornet in the scramble. I'm only thinking this as if the photo is blurred out, usually they do that for the protagonist ie, Blaze as Bartlett's elbow blocked his face.
