love the family recipes that are handed down, they are the best! nothing is better than our childhood memories, and passing it on the next generation. they need to bring back home economics and woodshop, really enjoy your video!
Food definitely brings back memories...thanks so much for sharing this, it looks so delicious, im going to make it next week! Thank you Rich's Mom!❤😋🫶🥩
Don’t even get me started on the demise of Home Economics (cookery lessons). Cooking is a life skill! I watch a family with kids shopping and they seem to spend so much on rubbish when they could eat healthy for less. Loving these recipe videos. BTW the kransekake recipe worked. Made a big tower of cookies which we will be eating till about April! Have a lovely weekend. We have a big storm here in London x
Thank you for sharing the recipe. I will be making this after a run to the grocery store. I will come back with my comments. It looked absolutely delicious too.
Such a yummy looking meal! I also still have many recipes from my Home Economics classes in high school that I use and are tried and true (and I'm about to turn 60.) It's too bad they don't teach Home Economics anymore. People really need to know how to cook to save money on food. It's a good life skill to have for sure. Congratulations on 15,000 subscribers. Love your channel.
Thanks so much for sharing the recipe,im definitely gonna make it this week! Richie is a spitting image of both of you for sure, him and your daughter -in-law are a beautiful couple! Hope y'all have a great weekend, and stay warm!🤗👍🥶❄️
❤Thank you so much for what you do. The last time I was in Pigeon Forge my friend was with me😊. Now she has gone but I get to have that memory because of my son. We were just like sisters.
@jennifermountaingirl Her son went missing with a friend. She made me promise to keep pushing to find him, after she passed. Believe it or not they found them after she passed, a miracle of lots of prayers from both families. And she knew and was with him. He had been waiting on her and he was her only baby, she had suffered long enough. Though I hate Cancer, she is home with her son.
Thank you so much for cooking that for us!!! I will definitely try to make that for my husband. Loved seeing your son and daughter in-law too! Come on 15,000 veiwers🎉❤
Jen and Rich, this dish is in the oven. Can't wait to try it. The sauce is so good, of course I sampled for seasoning! I've never made sauce with just tomato pasta. I'd make just that sauce for other dishes.
Food is very much a nostalgic thing for me, Jen as well! Especially around Christmas time. I can remember my mom making chocolate chip cookies, getting the recipe on the back of the Nestle’s chocolate chip bag. And the best part she would let both my sister and my myself eat some of the remaining chocolate chip dough around the sides of the pan. Mind you, there was very little cookie dough left. My mom used to be somewhat of a plain cook, but she made a few things very good, her fried chicken and gravy, spaghetti bolognaise and her potato salad, oh and her ice tea. My dad was the experimental cook, and would cook breakfast on a Saturday morning, especially pancakes or creamed chipped beef. Anyway, will definitely be making Jim’s mother’s recipe!
I LOVE hearing stories like this. Most kids today get to eat whatever they want but things like that cookie dough were a real treat back in the day which made it so special. 🥰
Jen, you're a great home cook! Love watching you prepare meals. Old-time family favorite recipes are such treasures. I definitely want to try this one. ❤️
Jen, I agree food is good memory especially when we use to sit around the dinner table with family and friends. No one was in a rush to go somewhere, you just enjoyed the meal and the company.
It really does bring back the best memories! We have reverted spending a lot of time with friends hanging around the table and playing games and talking! Love it!
This looks incredible! All we ever made in my home-economics class was an a-line skirt with a 7-inch zipper. I no longer eat beef but will make this with skinless boneless chicken breasts. Thanks!
This looked amazing! Have you ever tried making it with a leaner cut of beef? I know fat is flavor but I don't like biting into fat unless it's crispy like bacon lol😊 Also, have you tried using tomato sauce instead of paste?? I've never cooked with paste so I'm just curious. Love you guys❤
You could use any cut of meat or even chicken and I’m sure it would be just as good!! The reason you use the paste I think is it is thicker and so it makes the sauce thicker - it tastes like tomato sauce! You should try it sometime- it’s really good!😊
We are making the Beef Parmigiana and Portobella Mushroom Parmigiana with fresh Mozzarella and garnishing with fresh basil and parsley. Please keep sharing recipes!
Rich and Jen this looks truly amazing! I am definitely going to be making this. I just love you two! You are a amazing couple. So nice to meet your son and daughter-in-law. I always look forward to your videos. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hey guys, Reminds me of chicken fried steaks. So the oven time makes it more tender? It would be a tough steak otherwise? Sounds fantastic! Love your kitchen vids ❤
Jen, I love your videos and thank you for showing how to do this. I have 2 questions. #1 Where did you find the non-stick casserole dish? Also, Why No Italian Seasonings?... one more, what exact cut of the round did you buy? top, bottom, rump? Your Son Has Rich's Exact laugh.... LOVE-IT! From Central NY... Happy holidays!
Home Economics is still taught in public schools--in fact, the programs are growing. In some schools it is now called "Family and Consumer Sciences" or "Domestic Science". It is part of the "Career and Technical Education" departments in public schools. Those programs include Information Technology/computer science, business/marketing/finance, construction management, horticulture, health science, food service, auto body and mechanics, agriculture education, and others. The purpose is to inform students about professions and aid them in connecting education with the skills and tasks that are performed. Students who have completed the first 2 years then do an ovservational experience, may actually do an internship their final year. For Home Economics, the introductory course is a sample of all the skills used in maintaining a home--cooking, sewing, home decorating, child care, etc. Subsequent classes usually focus on one area of skills. For example, cooking could lead to skills needed in fine dining, catering, event planning, running a bakery, working in a school or retail cafeteria facility, etc.
Oh my gosh, I am so hungry. Thankfully I am on my way to meet friends for Italian food. That looked very good. Do you ever serve garlic bread with it? I always put a little bit of water in my eggs when making scrambled eggs, do you? Happy belated birthday to your son. Oh yes,Merry Christmas from me up here in Michigan.
Well that just looks yummy. I'm thinking leftovers on cheesy garlic bread the next day. Most things are better the next day after things cool off and absorb all the flavors around them.
Wow, that looks delish. I know what u mean food brings back great memories. My mom n nana were wonderful cooks, n I miss them so much 😪❤ Have a wonderful day. God bless✝️🙏♥️
Oh Rich this must bring back memories of your childhood for sure! Beef Parmesan! My dad made this I think one time. It was probably like Jen's making but spice with heat!!!!!With spices. Mom would cook it like this!!! Just tasted really good probably like your mother's did. Food brings back my childhood for sure! Has to be angel hair anything thicker would make the sauce too thick!!!! Oh delicious I bet.
Yes food is a memory for me, mine is grandma’s canned Green beans oh my. I love cheese, those look delicious I’m going to have to try them. Day complete, bye
It was great seeing you have dinner with your family. Your son (Richie?) looks just like his dad. And he has a lovely wife. Looks like the men in your family have good taste in women.

Hi Jen, Hi Rich. WOW, that looked delicious 😋. Are you guys sure you’re not Italian?😂😂😂. Soo sweet. Your son’s birthday dinner. That’s a fantastic take on chicken parmesan. That’s kinda similar to the beef braciole I grew up eating. Good job. Happy Birthday to Richie 🎉🎈🎊. Sooooo sweet!
Absolutely loved it! I'm going to make it! And I love your channel, you two are so cute together! Jen I would love to know what your mama made you? On my birthday I always requested pineapple upside down cake it was the best.
This looks so delicious. Like the perfect marriage between smothered steak and parmesan. Also love the angel hair pasta. Wonder what veggetables would go good as a side. Maybe zucchini. I love veggies, and just would love to add some. And some garlic bread 😊

Canola or vegetable oil
This looks so delicious. Like the perfect marriage between smothered steak and parmesan.

I don’t see the recipe. Looks yummy! Bonus for Richie. 😊
I see it. lol
I just put it in the comments….
Could you please clarify the amount of tomato paste. The written recipe say 16 oz tomato paste but video is different. Thank you.
It is 1 -6oz can of tomato paste, but we doubled the recipe so we used 2 -6oz cans.
Thank you for replying.
Hi Y'all !! That dish looks amazing!! Happy Belated birthday to Richie! 🎉❤🎉🎉❤🎉
Thank you so much! 🎉
In your written recipe instructions, shouldn’t it indicate 1 6 ounce can tomato paste rather than 16 ounce?
You are absolutely right! Thank you for catching that! I left out the dash. Changed it.
Hey jen fyi- real cannoli have ricotta in them. Love your videos 💜💜
I am always learning!
