I feel like sending perishables by the mail is always so risky. I once bought chocolate on Amazon and it looked like some of the chocolate they tried where it was like dusty and white and it turned out the temperatures messed with the ingredients and they didn't taste good at all. I don't think thats your fault at all. I just think the delivery of it messed them up. Im sure they would have tasted better. I mean hey, you gave them content and it was really great of you to send them stuff. Im planning on sending them Puerto Rican items when its safer and I can go back down and get some of my faves that I cant gather in the states. Trust, those treats are take em or leave em.

You could probably wiki it but the Yankiebar is supposedly a recreation of the chocolate bars that American soldiers during WWII had in their rations. They became famous in Denmark because after the liberation the soldiers would give them to kids. And as a Dane I think that I can speak for most that the Skildpadder is absolutely the most delicious of the ones presented here but apparently not suited for an Irish palate. Then again, Irish people tend to like Guinness so it's not like they can be trusted to know what actually tastes good. :P

Hi I am from Ballerup the town where all the chocolates you tried are from. My mind mom worked at Toms chocolate factory. I just learned that the factory is going to close down and move to Poland. Btw they have many more different chocolates, it’s like something for anyone’s tastes.
I'm always sad when I see a chocolate that's blushed (or bloomed as they say. same thing). It really dries it out and it loses most of the flavor it had.

I’m really impressed with how good they are at pronouncing the danish words 😁 When I eat the Gold Caramels I usually suck on them, they last longer that way and I don’t pull my teeth out 😂
There's a trick to hard caramel candy, put it in your mouth and let it heat up, once warm, it will be much softer. And then chew veeery slowly, you'll save your teeth that way.
Fun. Makes me want to have a Canadian turtle now though instead of trying the Danish one, lol. Caramel, pecans, dipped in milk chocolate and only vaguely turtle-shaped. One of "cheap" boxes of chocolates we have around at Christmas time that are actually really tasty and now they are available all year, in a box of individually wrapped ones. I didn't try any of these when I was in Copenhagen. I should have bought more snacks.

My grandfather hated chocolate. He used say he was allergic to chocolate. Just so he wouldn't have to eat it. He didn't eat chocolate until he was in the military during The Korean War. He grew up poor during The Great Depression and his family couldn't afford a chocolate bar.

Hi I am from Ballerup the town where all the chocolates you tried are from. My mind mom worked at Toms chocolate factory. I just learned that the factory is going to close down and move to Poland.
Btw they have many more different chocolates, it’s like something for anyone’s tastes.
The name for turtle is basically the same in swedish. It's Sköldpadda which translates to Shieldtoad
I'm always sad when I see a chocolate that's blushed (or bloomed as they say. same thing). It really dries it out and it loses most of the flavor it had.

There's "dead" and there's dead. Latin's about as dead as Shakespeare - not doing anything new, but hugely influential on the modern world.

When I eat the Gold Caramels I usually suck on them, they last longer that way and I don’t pull my teeth out 😂
There's a trick to hard caramel candy, put it in your mouth and let it heat up, once warm, it will be much softer.
And then chew veeery slowly, you'll save your teeth that way.
Fun. Makes me want to have a Canadian turtle now though instead of trying the Danish one, lol. Caramel, pecans, dipped in milk chocolate and only vaguely turtle-shaped. One of "cheap" boxes of chocolates we have around at Christmas time that are actually really tasty and now they are available all year, in a box of individually wrapped ones. I didn't try any of these when I was in Copenhagen. I should have bought more snacks.

My grandfather hated chocolate. He used say he was allergic to chocolate. Just so he wouldn't have to eat it. He didn't eat chocolate until he was in the military during The Korean War. He grew up poor during The Great Depression and his family couldn't afford a chocolate bar.
So the childhood incident with baking chocolate is a universal thing huh.

Fun fact about the word skildpadde. Skild actually comes from the german word for a shield which is schild. The Danish word for shield is skjold.
But turtle still are spelled "Skildpadde" in Danish, singular.
