You know what bro, I'd rather have Crys being authentic and herself than trying to do something to please others. As long as she is listening and a part of the reaction, we have grown to love how she authentically is. Keep doing your thing!
Every thing Old can be made new again....what comes around goes around eventually this will come back around and replace all this techno....I have to believe it
You and me both. The '70's were more than Disco, it was full of cool harmonies and sounds. This song hit the charts in 1978 a couple of months before I graduated high school.
This is one of the closest to perfect songs ever made...Musicianship, Harmonies, Lyrics, Melody, Bass, Guitar, Keyboards...all impeccable!!! The only gripe I have is that it isn't longer, especially the guitar solo at the end!!! As a drummer, I'm glad you noticed the drumming!!! This is one of my favorites to play along to!!!
It's pretty incredible, I agree. I'm a drummer too, and this song doesn't SEEM difficult but those sixteenth notes on the hats with the right hand? I still can't cope. And it just doesn't sound the same if you cheat and alternate. This guy and Jeff Porcaro... Whew.
Other blue eyed soul bands you'd like are Ambrosia doing "How Much I Feel", and "Biggest Part Of Me", and of course Hall and Oates doing "She's Gone" and "I Can't Go For That".
Orleans "Dance with me" "Still the one" "Love takes time" Dave Loggins "Please come to Boston" Sanford Townsend Band "Smoke from a distant fire" Firefall "You are the woman" "Strange way" "Just remember i love you"
@Bamboo If you can't tell the difference between "Still The One" and its rock influence, and "Baby Come Back" and its R&B influence perhaps you should either listen to or study more of both.
Thank you for your comment. I had totally forgotten Ambrosia so just went to listen to "How Much I Feel" and was instantly transported back to my younger days. Absolutely beautiful - once again many, many years later got me in the heartstrings!
I graduated HS in 1977 and I went and bought the whole album and cassette JUST BECAUSE this song was on it. The cassette stayed in my 69 Camaro and I jammed every time I cruise Main St.
I used to hear that music since I was a kid growing up in the 70's and I still do , white bands in the seventies had a lot of groove in their music man ,never gets old
I was a senior in high school when this song came out and I was working at Sonic. When this song came on we would jack it up as loud as possible and sing our little hearts out😁🎶 It was number one on the charts for a while, and when our prom rolled around, everybody was on the dance floor snuggling up!!🎶💙 One of my top 3 favorite songs ever💙🎶🎵💙🎶 Another "blue eyed soul" band like Hall & Oates🎶
I know this song, but man watching the video again, just made realize how incredible this song and the band is. Their vocals and musicianship is off the charts. This is truly next level.
This song takes me back to high school for me. It’s such a good song and it’s fun to see you youngsters appreciating some classic music! And congrats on crushing 100K!!!!
Fun fact: the guy in red here is Ron Moss who portrayed Ridge Forrester in The Bold and the Beautiful from 1987 to 2012. I never watched the soap but I do like connecting people, songs, events.
The band Ambrosia is another Smooooth band! Check them out next! "You're the biggest part of me" "How much I feel" "You're the only woman" (In no particular order...all🔥🔥🔥)
Elvin Bishop, "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" live from the midnight special with Mickey Thomas on vocals, is not only a great live performance, but smooth as well.
Bro!!!! Your smile and the faces you made while hearing this song is epic!!! You looked like I feel when I hear that song. Never get tired of it! Keep doing your thing bro!! I’m a old cat but you and your girl are definitely my at the top of my favorite reaction videos. ✊🏾
Watching you react to my generations music with the energy and enjoyment you have is why I watch your channel. Her smile lights up a room. That little one of yours is so blessed to have 2 parents that will expose her to the whole world of music and not just her generation of music. God bless you for just being who you two are
This is the CLASSIC 70s rock I grew up listening to. Interestingly, the dude in the red--Ron Moss--went on to be a huge SOAP OPERA start on "The Bold and the Beautiful" which is sooooo NOT a rock thing to do. LOL But it's all good. Glad you enjoyed it. If you haven't yet, you need to check out early Hall & Oates: "Rich Girl," "Sara Smile," and "She's Gone." Fantastic 70s sound.
There is a YT video of a B&B episode where "Player" is on stage, doing this song, as part of the story-line. Was in their later days, maybe 12 or 15 years ago. Ron was on bass and they sounded great. Lead singer Peter Beckett still has the voice, even today.
Some other smooth, romantic songs from back then that I love are, "If" by Bread, "Can We Still Be Friends " by Todd Rundgren, and "I Go Crazy" by Paul Davis. There are plenty more, but these songs are so beautiful!!
I have been a subscriber for a while and you guys always surprise me. But when I saw this, talk about flashback. This is on my playlist and I love that you are exploring all forms of music. Keep it coming 👍
A classic, smooth ass song that has stood the test of time, basically an all-around perfect song. If you like this, you'll also like Ambrosia - How Much I Feel and DEFINITELY check out Hall & Oats - Sara Smile.
Another great reaction!! In the 70's, the music industry wasn't very fair for many artists. Most artists didn't own the rights to their own songs. They had to be very accomplished, just to get recognized and hopefully get some air play on the radio. If you haven't already, please check out "songs that you didn't know were covers". You will find that many of the original artists, aren't mentioned or even heard of. Good luck with your next video.
This came out when I was 10. I still have the 45 record of this song! I just started watching your reactions, and I love how you guys react to such a wide range of music. It makes me smile to see you guys reacting to the music that I grew up listening to. Plus, you two are so damn cute! Keep it up😉
That’s where most of my music comes from. As I get older, I find myself googling the artists that my dad had in his CD tower as a kid. That’s where I learned about The Allman Brothers, Little Feat and Neil Young I know for sure.
Love this soulful song 🎵, love watching you two . You’re real and that’s what makes me what keeps me watching your reaction videos. Thank you so much for playing such iconic music.❤️❤️❤️. Color has always had no boundaries ❤🎵💃👍👍🙏🙏❤️❤️. I love when you play iconic songs like this, Michael McDonald, BeeGees, Earth, Wind and Fire 🔥🔥🥰👍💃🎼❤️
Now you are starting to realize why us 60 and 70 year olds are the coolest, smooth ppl on the planet, as you dig further into Rock, Funk, R&b, Jazz, Country, Soul, Pop, Disco, even Punk and New Wave. (Don't forget WE invented Rapping!). you will find the music of my generation, in that era, did reflect our culture and outlook, our ideals and It still does. Next time you pass us grey haired ppl just think of those long haired hippies on those old live videos. It's still who we are.
I play in a band and we made a cover of this one. That's a fantastic song. The crow appreciated so much we did it. If you wanna hear more like this one, try Ambrosia with You're the Biggest part of me and You're the only woman. You won't regret.
Cool reaction guys this is what I grew up on, you both took me back down memory lane, very natural authentic reaction, great to see your appreciation of the real ole school music where they had real musicians 💃🏽🎸🕺🏽🇦🇺(Perth Western Australia)
Always very cool to see a younger generation vibing to the music I grew up listening to. This song brings me back to driving in my parents station wagon in the 70's. Love it.
That was a classic #1 Pop song by Player with a funny feel and great lead vocals by Peter Beckett and harmony by the group! Great instrumentation, climaxed with Beckett's amazing guitar solo!
Love the John Lennon T shirt. Somebody somewhere in the comments may have mentioned it but the bass player in the red outfit, Ron Moss became an actor . He played original Ridge on Bold and the Beautiful. Such a great 70s song.
Just wanted to add that watching Crys watch your reaction is priceless! Her smile lights up the room when she sees you getting into the music! Definitely an awesome vibe! Glad you two get into these reaction videos together! Well worth the watch!
I was six years old when this came out (in a house filled with music) and this is one of my all time favorites. I have watched several reactions to this waiting for someone to recognize the DRUMS and cymbals in this song. For me, it's what makes it. Ear candy.
You want some more smoothness, maybe check out Sexy Eyes, and Sharing the Night Together by Dr. Hook. December 1963 by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Fooled Around and Fell in Love by Elvin Bishop.
I just am so glad I've lived long enough to see these reaction videos of people enjoying this great music I grew up with! We were sooo lucky and didn't even know it at the time!
Player is one of those so underrated bands - they had great sound and everyone in the band was such a talented musician and the lead singer he could sing anything but more they had fantastic harmony singing together which takes talent and countless hours of practice to do. This song was a top FM radio playlist song. Back in the day late 70s and 80s everybody listened to a wide range of music at the clubs from R and B, Disco, Rock, Jazz Fusion - you name it. Back then we wouldn't think anything unusual about going to mostly minority club and be the only white folks there and never had an issue and same in the mostly white clubs - other folks came and had a fantastic time with no issues. It used to be all about the music and what you liked. I miss those days of the music first. And know every genre of music borrows from other genres it's not unusual at all. Glad to see you enjoy the music!
Y'all made my day with that reaction 👍❤️. You both have musical souls for sure. And like y'all have figured out, music has no color. Just like the human soul. If the rest of the world could understand that, it would be a lot nicer place to live.
This is my all-time favorite song of course, aside from James Taylor, The Eagles and America. I have it on my spotify playlist. And I am now 61 years old. I was 14 years old when this song hit the charts.
Another good reaction to that BLUE EYED SOUL I was a little boy when the radio was bumping this, have a little time Ambrosia "How Much I Feel" was killing it back then
I'm so happy ya'll appreciating the talents of this AWESOME era, plus Player - underrated, they split up I think in 1980. The guy in the orange outfit (Ron Moss) went on to portray the character "Ridge Forrester" on the soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful. Them are the DAYS son! C'mon now!?
Bro, I'm so stoked with your guys reaction. It's right on. This song is definitely a perfect 10. I've been listening to it since it came out, and it never gets old.
dude....i have really grown to like you alot. i wasn't sure if you were genuine but you definitely are. you definitely LOVE music. the world needs more of that. keep it up you guys. i am a regular now
I was in Junior High when this song was released. It was played at all the School Dances and Parties and at the Skating Rinks. I graduated High School in 1982.
I was really young teen in the seventies & I must say we had some great music + I got to have 80’s & 90’s hair bands that I was old enough to see in concert. Actually saw KC & the sunshine band for free.
I’ve grown tired of reactions where people pretend to like the song. You two seemed so genuinely enjoy it. I also enjoyed pointing out specific parts that you liked and referenced the drums, etc. I’ll be checking out more of your videos! Glad you liked this song…but who wouldn’t! 😎 👍
Recklezz, I know you listen to the lyrics also, but DAMN, you really get into how the music from the different instruments plays into the making of the song! That is soooooooo cool to see from the younger generation such as yourself! And it's not "SMOOTH", this song is "SMOOVE"! It's a whole another level of "SMOOTH". Loved your reaction to this video! I am sure that I will watch it a few times just because of your reaction!
Something I enjoy watching your reactions is that you Younger Folk are discovering the Music form back in my day keep up the good work here, I was 27 years old when this came out
I am so glad the young people appreciate this. I am 56 years old I was 10 years old and this song was out a man that I hear it through the 70s and 80s they wore it out on the radio.
Loved that y’all was feeling this. It is a smoooth groove. Everybody always trying to be so tough anymore it’s good to hear a dude just “ I want you back baby “ They did call their self Player. 🔥✌🏻❤️
I love how the both of you interact with your reaction. I would also like to say, everytime I hear this song...at the end where the guitar solo is being played, it totally sounds like the guitar is talking. The way that he plays ... guitar talking ....
You know what bro, I'd rather have Crys being authentic and herself than trying to do something to please others. As long as she is listening and a part of the reaction, we have grown to love how she authentically is. Keep doing your thing!
We love you Crys. Keep doing YOU
Thats what ive been saying! Theyre doing a great job. They just need to keep doing exactly what they do and dont even worry about the rest.
@@joeljarecki2332 You know when she smiles it was well earned!!
Who said something about Crys????🥊❤😉
@@IFY0USEEKAY Yup, she won’t smile unless she really likes what she’s listening to.

Agreed!
And the bassist Ron Moss was a Ridge Forrester on bold and the beautiful for 25 ye@rs
Everything you said is truth. ❤
THE 70's ...had the MOST TALENTED MUSICIANS........PERIOD.
Yes, and they were REAL musicians
It's still kicks ass 45 years later and one of the best soft rock songs of the 70s.
And there were soooo many

I’ve grown tired of reactions where people pretend to like the song. You two seemed so genuinely enjoy it. I also enjoyed pointing out specific parts that you liked and referenced the drums, etc. I’ll be checking out more of your videos! Glad you liked this song…but who wouldn’t! 😎 👍
I really Love the smile on ya'll faces🤗🤗💛🤗🤗 It tells me you ENJOY IT...
The 70’s had some great musicians 🔥Great song and review by you two!
That is what I like about the 70's, so many new Genres or sounds popped up
You can’t help but smile when you listen to this song. It’s a classic.
One hit wonder - but a great 70's song. Fact - member of the band is an actor on BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL for twenty years supposedly...
Loved that y’all was feeling this. It is a smoooth groove. Everybody always trying to be so tough anymore it’s good to hear a dude just “ I want you back baby “ They did call their self Player. 🔥✌🏻❤️
Oh snap you reacted to my request. Boom. get it
What a lovely reaction, this song is sooooo good, the harmonising is amazing..x
I love how the both of you interact with your reaction.
I would also like to say, everytime I hear this song...at the end where the guitar solo is being played, it totally sounds like the guitar is talking. The way that he plays ... guitar talking ....
