I will never forget beating this game for the first time, seeing Sonic land just in time to see his work done, the planet bouncing, teeming with life once again as balance is restored. Then stars fall from the heavens around Sonic as he stands, in awe at the beauty of this mysterious yet wondrous little planetoid, as it flies off into space. This is one of the best video game endings in my opinion, as well as this game as a whole, and should be cemented in video game history as the legendary masterpiece that it is. To me if I were to point to one game that summed up what Sonic was to me, it's this game.
