Pioneer Heritage Medley Piano Solo by David Len Allen

Twenty-Fourth of July is Pioneer Day commemorating the arrival of the Mormon Pioneers in Salt Lake Valley (1847). This is a piano medley of two authentic pioneer era songs, plus one about pioneer children, and some original connecting material. I first arranged a version of this for church choir about 40 years ago. Resurrected the idea/redux a few years back, maybe 2018 or so, then stole the idea from myself to mesh Come, Come Ye Saints with The Handcart Song for children to sing as part of a Veteran's Day extravaganza I created for my very last teaching assignment before retiring (representing the The Mexican War in the which the Mormon Battalion performed the longest infantry march in modern history). As always, a friend asked (a different friend) "Do you have a piano solo version of that medley we sang..." I didn't then (three days ago), BUT I DO NOW! And here it is!
