I really like the "Wrong"/"Correct" comparisons. The red and green tint also drive it home really well. All the extra work is much appreciated!

    Viktor,
I cannot thank you enough for this video. I’m a noob and I finally moved from the tennis court to the apparently best skate park in the city (didn’t know that until after I went). I never went down or uphill, I’m older and learning from TH-cam.
It NEVER crossed my mind that going up would be more difficult than down. I nailed going downhill without falling and was siked.
Uphill, I busted arse multiple times. I was deflated, frustrated and disappointed. I did not think about the logistics and/or physics.
After watching this tutorial, I nailed going uphill multiple times and I was elated and I owe that to you.
Without you making this video I would have eaten concrete a couple times and then just packed it in and gone home., pissed and sad.
I appreciate the detail, explanations and your showing the steps.
I am so grateful to you for your time, energy and thoroughness in which you put into this video. I’ve subscribed & can’t wait to become better with your spirit guiding me!
    🤘🏼🤗✌🏼💙

LOL, hella late repply, but yeah, everytime I find myself skating uphill feeling like shit drenched in sweat, I remember that scene from Blade and think "Wesley Snipes was right, fuck, only a mf would do this"

Thanks for the video! Great advice. I think it might be a good idea to point out that this advice is probably best for skaters that have pretty good speed skating technique already. Most of the skaters (the ones that aren't on my speed skating team) I know already skate standing almost straight up with their skates in a v and really short strokes on flat terrain, so they should probably be doing the opposite of everything in this video. When we're all skating uphill they are basically walking up the hill instead of skating up it.

It’s not fun until you skate up the hills, especially on the blind curves. I miss it so much.

Dear Viktor, is it almost impossible to go 30 degrees uphill for say 200 m long with inline skater?

Interesting, so basically everything we are told not to do on flat ground, we have to do in uphill and viceversa, no wonder why uphills were the bane of my existance, my dumb ass was trying to skate them with marathon double push technique and all that 💀. Thanks for the video!

would bigger wheels slow me down more going up hill? Are smaller wheels better for skating up hill? I don't have much experience with wheels smaller than 90mm.

Big wheels help with bad road... And much less traffic early in the morning... Yep, that may mean a 5am alarm clock. It's tough the first times, but the emptiness of the streets is so enjoyable!
