@@chucktownattackit's true. I took my girlfriend to a skating rink and she didn't skate before. She fell backwards too many times because she didn't follow my tip to not straighten out her legs. I caught her some of the time, but not every time. She went home with a sore butt bone.
You. Are. My. Hero. Let me explain, me and my partner both have a lot of mental health problems and we both (for the past two years we have been together) love escaping reality… and for months we’ve been watching you and another channel called “flow skate” and, we’ve been so… hooked and felt so at home (in a way) watching these videos. So we got some skates… and oh my goodness, Ricardo, you make it look so easy but the second we stood up, we fell. We tried moving for hours and we watched tutorials and everything, then eventually we got moving forward 😂 after many bumps, scrapes and bruises… we could then move forward. You are literally a hero to us both and you have got no idea what you and your videos mean to me and my partner. Thank you so much ☺️ xx
I literally got my first pair of skates and am waiting for my protection gear to arrive today so I was looking in the channel for the right video and ta da! Thank you Ricardo for the nice video! 🙂
Good luck! Have fun! Take care! It's a really fun experience even including falling once in a while helps you cope with shame and all, hope you have a great session!
@@RicardoLino I went out finally for the first time! I think the surface I was on (regular tarmac) wasn't slick enough for me to do the Lemons. I could only complete the first half. Also The standing up part and the falling from your video were amazing 👏 only thing I have to say is that it wasn't clear for me how to do the Lemons in a sense we're I didn't know how to generate enough force to complete the movement, I just twisted my feet so that they were at an angle and tried to force my legs to open so that I got propelled forward but that only got me on the first half were I ended up with my legs open. Still Rome wasn't built in a day... Thank you again for the video and advice, I ll keep practicing!
Thank you Mr lino. I just picked up some sway 60. I used to skate really good in the 90's but now I feel like all my experience is gone. I have to learn everything back again so I'm thankful for you doing this beginner course. I love what you're doing for this culture.

I'm going to go home tonight and do everything he was teaching. I probably busted my butt 5 times last night until I just went and stood in the grass doing balancing and raising my leg techniques to start relearning.
I was skating before but a slight injury opted me to quit. Now I am interested to skating again. Thanks for sharing the basics which we sometimes do forget.
practicing the falling is not so simple even after having watched the video, while falling I put my two hands behind and I felt like my arms has been chopped off my body, I really felt the pain. but I still practicing 😊 thank you so much for your help

Ok!!! This is the best video I have found!!! You make it simple and understandable because is not only about learning the positions but also what is the purpose of it (science behind)!!!You are definitely a true teacher!!! Thanks!!!
Hi Lino thank you a bunch... your video is helping me alot put my 1st ever skaste yesterday and i love tht you talked abt not skating where you can grab things around for support... I did tht on day 1 and grabbed cloths line and i was holding it so tight as the skates moved forward my hands still hurt n i fell hard on my tail bone. No other video talks abt tht. So thank you so very much...
Most enjoyable and informative🤙 I am a wheel addict at heart! Getting back into skating in my forties. Im taking it super safe, your tips and insistence on safety is much appreciated 😁 I look forward to checking out your other videos! Let’s roll!
Hi I learnt to state in my first grade a little with normal roller skates. Always wanted to revisit the hobby and try inline skates. Just ordered my pair after 18 years ☺️
I've been rolling since before inline existed. I mostly stopped for the last 20 years, now in 3 months I got 4 new pairs of skates, aeons, 60s and 80s, them 909s with oysi frames and my carbon frees get delivered today
OMG i got mine yesterday and im so scared to use it coz i cant even stand but I saw this online tutorial of yours and now I can stand and move slowly. Thank you for this wonderful online tutorial
I’ve got concrete floors at my house. Got my first pair of skates. Day 1 could barely stand. Day 2 moving. Day 3 skated over a mile in my house with no issues. Think I’m ready to skate outside today. Helpful video. Definitely need to practice standing from sitting.
At the socks higher than your skates, i agree as with my first time trying to inline skate i had ankle socks on. When i got back home my legs were all bruised.
This was the first video I watched of u and u taught me how to do them easily but I'm still trying to learn but I'll always watch u if I ever have a problem with roller skating thank u 😊 so much Ricardo love u so much 😘❣️
Excellent vid, thank you very much! Gonna try this, bought skates like 15 years ago and never learned, my daughter might start learning this year so i will dust them off and be with her.
@@stateofaffairs1846 Quite fun, I only managed to skate 4 days in 1,5 month because of work. Also managed to convince my gf to buy a pair, so we are learning together. Experienced my first fall on my butt trying to do a T stop, should not have put my weight on the back leg... But each time I felt more comfortable on the skates, I feel like if I can learn to realiably stop and improve my one leg balance I can start to expand bit faster.
First I try to start in the street. Mine is very calm. But no way. Than I found your video. I'm training in the house to control sit and get up. Forward and backward. Thank you so much! It's just like you are saying. I love it. I will follow your channel
I had the skates in a bag for 10 years! And last week I did ice skating and I remembered that I line skating was really fun but also extremely difficult for me as a beginner, so today I got them out and went for 5 minutes on our street, didn’t fall ! But my feet hurt a lot, I guess I need to break in these skates, how long do you think it should take me ?
Actually i fell down last few days like what you described as a dangerous fall... And yes it was very painful.. my hands and butt was really injured... 😭 Unfortunately i didnt even wear any gears since my order from over seas haven't arrived yet... So just wait for all my protective gears first then i will try again to skate...
Thank you, just what I needed! I'm definitely not watching this after going inline skating several times with no instructions and making half of the common mistakes you pointed out.

I am really used to falling and kneepads and elbow guards are really limiting for me, but I usually fall on my hands and it seems I have forgotten how to fall down safely...actually learning how to fall is the best skill that you will need in the long run
It’s been 25 years since I’ve been on rollerblades. Got a beginner’s pair plus knee, elbow and wrist pads. In my early 20s could skate for hours so I hoped to make it 30 minutes. Wow, I’m not sure when I lost my nerve and became clumsy and uncoordinated. Must have been while raising children! Please someone let me know that my rollerblading skills will return. Not interested in going fast, just like to keep moving. Any suggestions help. Cause it is absolutely fun!
