Edo state indigenes in the diaspora have called on the independent national electoral commission INEC to redeem its image by allowing inspection of the September 21 Governorship election in the state. They made the call during a protest to the national headquarters of INEC in Abuja, on Wednesday.

Party supporters should understand that pointing fingers here and there and causing commotion on the street is not an answer to grievances. The accusation of INEC and Wike's' cousin involvement in any election malpractice can only be proven and remedy provided only in the court of law. Wike's cousin was already was already judged even before the election took place, therefore any mention of him now is not surprising. The cousin rebutted the fact that being a cousin to Wike has nothing to do with his appointment and assignment to Edo state. Why can't Nigerians understand that the system is not set up to monitor relationship when it comes citizen getting the job or appointed in position where he or she is qualified for. There must be evidence that Wike's cousin personally influenced the outcome of the election otherwise his name being brought regardless of how many times is meaningless. The aggrieved party has gone to court and the protesters or supporters should just do themselves a favor to avoid inter-party crisis in the state. The court is there to determine if INEC and Wike's cousin has any hands in the outcome of the elections.
