What a naming nightmare leica geosystems, we as loyal customers have already resigned to the fact that the "old" well thought out naming system was ditched years ago. For instance if you had a box in front of you and it had TCRP1201 on the label, you knew what instrument with which features you had in there. With the "new" naming system for example TS16 you only know one third of the features, what a stunning performance of the marketing department! Now we get that atrocity of product naming, two different instruments with the same name MS60. If you see these updates as minor, than call it MS60s or if not than make it a MS70. From where I personally stand the people responsible should really be evaluated, I do not want to use the word fired, because HR does not like that very much!
On the contrary, this is a competent decision. In order to certify and be able to sell the device in Russia, it will take at least one or two years. The old name will make it possible to bring it to the market instantly.
Everything has pros and cons. I used SX10 and lack of optics is a big problem if you want to do something else than scanning . It's hard to measure reflective tapes under some lightning conditions for instance. I find manual focusing just so much faster too. And scanning is not ideal either, 100 thousand pps is still not good enough for 360 scanning, its more or less for elevations and minor window scans. Ms60 can do the same, little bit slower, but on the other hand it has the same capabilities as normal total station and CS20 controller is usable when working with mini prism on site holding controller in one hand and prism in another. I can't do that with Trimble tablet and my friend who used TSC7 advised me to not use it this way also if I don't don't want my hand to fall off as it's heavy as hell.
The MS60 total station with scanning capability, SX10 is a scanner with single point measuring capability. Yes MS60 was slower in scanning, but it is on top of total stations market. Yes SX was faster in scanning, but it is in bottom of scanners market.
@@MrRamil89 How do you figure that? I don’t think there are any scanners that can do what the MS60 or SX10 can do. According to your logic the MS60 is a totalstation with ”fast DR measuring capability”. The ”scanning” specs are terrible. The SX10 has the same totalstation specs as the MS60, can track prisms, shoot DR, etc. Even has a way better spot size. The MS60 is a good totalstation but this is obviously a marketing strategy to try and compete.
carl torstensson two person can read the same sentence, but understand differently. MS is the total station with scanning capability and scans from MS are great due to good scanning specs and these specs become better. SX is a scanner - no eyepiece, no fine aiming drives, battery for 2 hours operation, operation only with tablet connected. That’s why I’m comparing SX with scanners but scanners can do 1 million points per second.
Your user interface is absolutely horrible and the programmer that does the front end should absolutely be fired. I mean who puts quit application and next page on the same hotkey with no confirmation box?
Leica the best instrument survey.....

@@МаксимГаврилов-г3э I guess you mean "The old name will make it IMpossible to bring it to the market instantly." ?
@@feastures yes sir
Does the TM50 do the same thing ?
TM, TS can't scan terrain and store points in pointcloud.
Beautiful instrument for leica

Haha ah couple of years behind Trimble SX10. Nice try. Sad.
