Thanks Chris, this has given me some inspiration for 2025. I’ve a Fuji XPro1 and an XE3 with 4 prime lenses. Whilst this is a fairly compact bag I still feel the weight. I’m going to try leaving everything but one body and lens at home and suck it up and get back to enjoying photography. 😃
Enjoying these vlogs - thanks. Retiring very early a few years ago has given me the time and space to rekindle my 40 year passion for photography and start a load of projects again. Taking pictures again is just the most enjoyable and healthy pastime again.
I have a yearly project, for the second year now. Last year I took photos of a lone tree in a field, every month (not the same date, that's not possible for me), from about the same standing point (bit hard to realize but it did work). This year I have monthly photos of a little chapel here alongside a road. I do learn a lot from these projects. With the chapel I quickly realized it wasn't so great a choice, as in the mornings the sun is always behind it and I prefer taking photos in the morning (as in the afternoon my energy levels run really low). But after a while I realized it's fun anyways as you can see the surroundings change. These projects are so much fun to do, after a few months it starts to click and in the end it's wonderful to see. Living on the edge now as I still have to make my December photo. Already have some subjects in mind for next year, the only thing that's left is chosing which one 🙂
Yeah it’s not the best video. Was a bit of a trial and the first time I’ve made anything like that. The next will be a better video. Cheers for the feedback though
Enjoying the videos, thank you! Your throw-away comment has created a seed of a project in my mind that I'll consider for a New Year 12-month project - Trees! Trees through the seasons - trees in black and white! 😀
You've just inspired me to start a little project myself. Not churches, and hopefully something a little different. Nice to hear the local accent in one of these TH-cam photography rabbit holes. Geordie lad myself, based up in Cramlington. Maybe I'll come back one day and update you on the progress. Liked, subbed and commented, because...why not.
Nice to see a Leica MP in the wild - I borrowed an M10 from Leicas Mayfair store before the pandemic - scariest thing I have ever walked around London and used. Loved the camera, didnt like the fact its like walking around with a bar of gold attached to you - sort of screaming - rob me, rob me. I do own a Leica X, which is small tactile and a true keeper - images look amazing. I also use a Nikon Df the original 2014 one, thats a keeper too. Love to have a photography project - before you know it you will be writing articles on Macfilos, or Dear Susan. Edit - forgot to add - if you do start writing article, you will find a whole new community you have yet to encounter in the photographers world. Have a great Xmas, and hope the family are all good.

Good subject choice Ray. Plenty of them about.

I own one and I have to say that my hand cramps up after a couple of minutes because it’s a heavy brick haha.
