On looking at other artworks, I suggest viewing the compositions of many of the master painters in history. For landscapes perhaps start with many of the works of Monet or Pissarro and others. They provide inspiration to look for photo compositions with similar lighting, color, and even subject matter.
@@jimbruton9482 so very true!! My grandpa was a fantastic landscape painter (obviously not Monet famous lol) - but seeing them on the walls definitely made me think about why it was painted in the first place! Top addition mate! 👍
Another great video. I've just returned from a two week tour of the Scottish Highlands and Islands with my wife and dog in a motorhome. Unfortunately I didn't get to spend as much time taking photos as I would have had I been on my own. My project is to go out on my own once a week or fortnight for a pre-planned photo trip. I am so looking forward to this.
@@alanbudge hi mate! I’m in the highlands as we speak! - but likewise lots of snapshots along the way as apposed to properly digging into photography. Got to wind down now and again! 😂 - that’s sounds cracking though, hope it proves successful for you!
Insightful and (perhaps) “tangible”😁 project seeds, Greg. Appreciate the origins revelation for “Distant Media”. Takes disipline and dedication to complete a long term project at the same time as other photographic objectives. All the ideas you mentioned entail taking your own images. However, would you deem it a “long term photographic project” to, say, digitize a family archive of negatives/slides taken by others? Cheers!
Got to love a bit of naming background history right 😂 there’s a few stories that go with the ‘alias’ but we’ll save them for future videos! - If you were doing a little something extra / creative with the scans once they’re all done, maybe laying them out digitally in a creative way, adding your own modern images with next to them to show time changing and contrast etc, then most definitely a project right there! - I guess anything with a bit of story and history and more than a stand a alone photo is technically a project right? 😂
Great video mate! I'm a big fan of photography projects or just photographing with a theme/focus in mind! It's a great creative challenge! 👌🏻 Funny you mentioned golf, I started playing golf a couple of years ago and have always found golf courses super photogenic 😅👌🏻 Might have to explore this theme myself!
Cheers Chris mate!! 🎉 they are so picturesque aren’t they! 😂 I’ve stayed at a few hotels that were technically for golfers and I kept thinking, damn if I was out on the course I’d be getting some cracking photos 😂😂 you should definitely run with the idea hahaha
Hey guys! Bit of an ‘interrim’ video this week while I’m away from home. Hope you’re having a good one! ✌️✌️
