  • In this video we make a start on the VW Transporter T5 Ex Fleet Panel Van Project.
    Working at our fully equipped workshop in Kent we carry out tasks including Panel beating, Body work, Mig Welding, Sheet metal Spot Welding, Fabrication, Chassis Repairs, Sand Blasting, Engine and Mechanical repairs, Reconditioning, Restoration and Structural repairs on the Celette Jig Dozer frame machine.

    We do receive quite a few questions regarding tools and equipment that we use for various jobs. Unfortunately there is too many to list but some of the brands we use include Snap-on, Blue-point, Makita, Sealey, Clark, Esab and Sykes-Pickavant.

    I poured kettle water on a painted bumper and popped out perfectly with only minimal paint damage I was amazed 😂

    Rob, you can fill the plastic bumper, use flexible filler then textured paint followed by spray paint to match the rest of the bumper. I used to do this when I did SMART repairs. This will make for a really good bumper, also if you get a raw plastic bumper with scratches this can be rubber down and filled in the same way. Love the perfection in the work guys keep up the videos!

    Pulling out dents, knocking back high spots and smoothing out are quite magic to watch in the hands of a skilled operator. In my view a time-lapse, possibly run at sightly faster than usual time-lapse speed from the initial state to finally smoothed is a highly absorbing viewing. Several hours work in a few seconds with a master of the art.
    I understand that this is a good time to be selling good condition vans, with the market strong due to home deliveries creating demand for good vehicles.

      Not just home deliveries, there's a massive market for using T5's as campers and modifying them.

      @@BRED510 the only thing with converting t5s now is you have to put an elevating roof on due to new rules imposed by d.v.l.a.

    I really enjoy your videos and all the hard work that goes into turning a vehicle around. I know filler work is time consuming but essential to achieve an effective long term repair which is better for business than something that lasts three months after sale. You guys do it right and deserve to make money all day long.

    Hi Rob and Chris, a few others have mentioned this but colour code the T5, add a set a large alloys and prep the rear load area for someone to do a camper conversion. I live in the beautiful lake district and these vans make rediculace money. Keep up the good work, Steve

      xVSupremacy it was only 1 guy. 3 friends from Belfast went out and 1 died, other two were in a coma but now thankfully out of it. No official report yet as to why the poor guy died so it could just be a coincidence that they were there for dental treatment 👍🏼

    When you can't get to the inside of a dent to push it out, try putting a big inner tube between the panels and inflate it.

    Top job as always little tip for next time on the bumper is to use a kettle with hot water tip it on leave it on for 5 mins it takes the stress out and then use the heat gun.. Leaves no marks Top work you 2 👍👍
