    Update on the bike- it went back under warranty. The issues couldn’t be fixed so they’d need to replace the whole bike. In order to return it I had to take it back to a store, even though it’s a mail order bike. I paid through PayPal so it’s a manual processes to refund the money and it took them 3 weeks to do so.
    What I do next I’m not sure. I’m sold on Mini Velos. They’re great fun. The quality of the Zeta was bad though, so I’m not sure if I get another and cross everything that it’s not a Friday special or do I go down the route of something a little nicer.

      Thanks for the update! I really like the concept of this mini bike, but it's hard to buy here in Germany - the only dealer currently listing this is 500km away :(
      After calling other dealers, I got mixed feedback about Polygons built quality. One dealer said, the don't sell Polygons bike anymore because of the bad quality of their fullys: 5 of 5 came back with problems after being sold, bad aftermarket support by Polygon in Europe.
      Can you give a bit more detail about the problems your bike had, why those could not be fixed and what caused them? If the problems stem from moderate riding like in the video this would be a deal-breaker for me.

    I’ve been commuting on a zeta 2 for nearly 2 years. It’s superb, I even run a cargo basket on the front

    Very good video, thank you! I am also very interested in trying a mini velo after having purchased a 20" folding bike recently. Unfortunately our Polygon dealer here in Australia only offers an e-bike version called the "Gili Velo", but I don't want an e-bike. Also, I have had a bad experience ordering a bike from the Polygon dealer here in the past which has soured me on them. Mini velos seem to be rare here in Australia, with the only other one I can seem to find (semi) locally being the bloody expensive Velo Orange Neutrino. I like the step-through frame design though, so tossing up whether to get an Chinese alloy frame online and build myself.

      Interesting! I've not seen the ebike version. I bet that's a laugh!
      I've toyed with the idea of the Neutrino too after the Polygon went back.. but seems an awful lot of money and the geometry is decidedly old school.
      Good luck with whatever you chose! They are great fun.

      I sold a Polygon Urbano and bought a Polygon Gili Velo. Will put 2.4” tyres and Zee clutch derailleur on it.

    On unpaved roads do you think this rides better than a brompton? Considering the wheels are a bit bigger on zeta, but also it lacks suspension. Really curious how both comapre

    I really fancy one of these, looks like go outdoors are now out of stock of them though, they were £100 cheaper than everywhere else that sells them.

      I spotted that.. it's a real shame! The low price is the only reason I went for it. Hope you find one!

    Any update on how the warranty process went? This bike is growing on me but that bottom bracket weld will have be anxious of snapping the frame on a curb hop or pothole!

    • @Niche_Biker
      @Niche_Biker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bike went back for a refund. There were so many issues in the end. Be aware that once the bike is built you have to return it to the store if you original had it posted.
      I’m not sure what to do now. Do I risk getting another one and hope the quality is improved, or just put the money elsewhere..

      @@Niche_Biker I'll likely collect in store and have them witness an inspection with hopes they would immediately refund should i find issues. The weld issues is clearly a quality control mishap, the rest (dents / chips / scratches) it would seem could possibly be put down to shipping / packaging?
      It's a shame as its quite a nice bike and from a lot of peoples accounts quite a fun ride, and there's not a lot from the mini velo front that is in stock in the UK.

      Hope it works out for you! I really enjoyed the bike.
      I think you’re right. The steerer tube dent and scratch is an assembly issue though as it’s shipped with the stem, spacers and top cap fitted.
      If you go in with your eyes open you should be fine. Not sure how you’ll check wheel tension so early on? Mine ended up with bent spokes on that short ride because it lost so much tension.

    I'm tempted seeing it at £399...Tiagra gear for that price is crazy. I'm 6ft thought, might be too small

    • @Niche_Biker
      @Niche_Biker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed! The spec is great for the price; Tiagra, hydraulics, 2 piece cranks with external BB and nice geometry.
      I’d be surprised if you’d fit. I’m 5’9” and the seatpost was about 1.5cm off the minimum insertion line. The reach is also pretty short but workable for my height.

      Wow only 400£. Where did you saw that price? Any link? In Poland this bike cost 4300pln equivalent c.a. 750£.
      Anybody can tell me what going on?

    Hello, could you tell me the maximum height of the bicycle seat, and the maximum weight it supports? (My weight is 75 kgs plus my backpack is almost 6 kgs, in total 81 kgs ) thanks a lot.

    • @Niche_Biker
      @Niche_Biker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm exactly the same weight as you. I took a few long rides with a heavy bag and didn't have any issues. I'm not sure on the manufacturers quoted max weight, but I think you'd be absolutley fine. They are usually around 110kg.

      Hi Yuen,
      I bought it from Go Outdoors in the UK: www.gooutdoors.co.uk/16185430/polygon-zeta-compact-urban-bike-16185430
      Note that the website doesn't reflect the actual colour. It states 'purple' but they send the dual-tone purple-teal.
