    Loved this! It has so increased my appetite to do a Brittany sail some time soon. Looking forward to an opportunity to chat about it.

    I don't know for sure, but it seems like a much more popular way of sailing everywhere but here in North America. I love watching these videos, I'm currently repairing a small "kolibri" to go sailing in the great lakes and rivers here in Canada! Looked like a wet first day eh? Love your videos, keep posting.

    Great little dinghies.Must admit i would not have the nerve to sail to France in our Hartley TS16.Admire your courage in an open boat

      we definitely didn't sail TO France in them - Britanny ferries from Plymouth to Roscoff - but they are great little boats nevertheless!

    Hi...In Mongolia enough of plywood and other woods but I can't find here fiberglass and sail materials. Sadly nobody sell it here.

    lovely rollicking adventure. What is that derelict warship? Fine looking wooden wayfarer - is anyone still selling kits for these?

      thanks Bruce. On the warship - no idea - we just sailed past it! Sadly no kits available for wayfarers for many a decade.

    I want to make one boat like this. But I dont know how ....I am Mongolian. In Mongolia we don't have tradition in boat making. In Mongolia no sea but some lakes and rivers. It seems this small boat perfectly suitable in our rivers.

      Hello Hak, I have the same dream as you. I have been watching YT vids on boat making for at least 3 years, there are a lot on here. If you start looking at boat building vids more will come up to see. I ended up buying a 13 foot hull and I am repairing it now, but had bought plans for 3m boat to make from ply wood ( which would have been too small for my needs ). It is possible to make a boat with very few tools, no need for big expensive machines. Two of the best channels for an overview of boat building I have found are: Tips From a Shipwright and Traditional Maritime Skills. From these you can see how a boat is made and just what is involved; for a very simple boat I like: Wooden Boat Building by Aigars G. I have a video journal of my restoration project on my channel you may like to see as well. It may look hard, but everything is done on steps, so you are only doing a lot of smaller jobs that end up as a boat. Hope this helps, all the best.

      hak. the boat is a Wayfarer dinghy. you can learn more about the boat here: www.wayfarer.org.uk. whilst you can buy old wooden wayfarers it is not possible to build a wooden wayfarer as there are no available plans and the design is copyrighted. if you want one you will, I beleive, need to find one for sale and have it shipped to mongolia!

    • @hakhakuuba5073
      @hakhakuuba5073 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigbadthesailor5173 The shipment to Mongolia is too much expensive. Do you know where is Mongolia?
      Of course I will make not exactly same as this boat. That is impossible in Mongolia due lack of boat kits and components.
      I will study principles of boat making and will create my own design.

      If it is not possible to get plans for the wayfarer then I suggest try to build a Goat Island Skiff. Plans are available and it is plywood. Good luck to you.

    • @frencheric78

      The "ship" is really a topsail schooner, her name is "Recouvrance" which is a part of Brest. She is Brest's flagship
