I love the 85- 1991 Thunderbirds with the 2.3 or 5.0 even the 3.8 these cars are so underrated. Even the Lincoln Mark VII or Mark 8 Coupes Also the Lincoln LS 2004- 2006.

Great to see that Lima power I had a 79 turbo coupe mustang running 20 psi back in 1985 it was a V8 eater back then.

Fabulous you are mapping out the perfect 420 hp combination so the rest of us don't have to reinvent the wheel!

Thanks. I hope this helps out some folks. I think it has more in it. Going to get back on the dyno soon and turn up the boost a little.

Awesome car! I used to own an 88 cougar 5.0 and I still own an 86 svo so I'm very fond of these foxbodies. Its nice to see them become more desirable again and get some love.

It's been several vehicles now but my 1983 thunder bird turbo coupe is definitely my favorite. I miss it

I’ve had 3 1987 turbo coupes. Last one was the best with hybrid t3/t4 turbo. Wish I would have kept them. Glad you kept yours have fun.

I had a t3o4e in my 1983 plus an intercooler when I'd be going 50 and step on the gas I don't know how much power it had but it snapped my head back. Anyway that was a sexy car to be sure

Awesome turbo Bird. I'm hoping to get my 1987 TC to 300HP at the rear eventually.

All that work to find out that your plugs need to be gapped at .022 and they need to be auto light copper only 764. Platinum and iridium plugs will detonate your fuel charge and cause misfires also. The best laid plans of mice and men my friend. I am getting 400 to my tires on a factory ECU.

87-88 T birds were my favorite, unique body style for those 2 years especially the turbo coupe. Fun Fact: some years the 2.3 made more HP than the 3.8 witch in turn made more HP then the 5.0..

Sweet set up man but idk if I could handle driving that loud 4 popper lol sounds like it’s going to explode 🤯 seriously lol 😂 but it’s a in-line engine so I’m sure it’ll be fine lol 😂 watch cylinder walls between 1&2 cylinders I’ve heard from old Ford mechanics they crack there? Idk hope u don’t have this issue with yours man and why u have the inner cooler on there right? I thought I saw one? I had an 83 Merc cougar and 89 cougar so keep up the good work man these cars are cool 😎

The bumpers are stock. Front is using an aftermarket air dam. Obsolete a long long time ago.

Thank you for the compliment. The car is a 1986 Turbo Coupe. The rims were made by a company called Budnik. They can custom make offsets and bot patters to your needs. I have little bit of a crazy combination as the rear is out of a Thunderbird Super Coupe which has a 5 on 108mm bolt pattern not your more typical 5 on 4-1/2”.

I think you can still find these Fox chassis thunderbirds relatively cheap.

@@Nitro_John1 Awesome, I used to drive an 87 turbo that I ported the head and installed the Motorsport A234 Cam, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 255lpr fuel pump, Garrett T3/T04B turbo, manual adjustable waste gate set to 21psi. That car ripped, I can only imagine how yours feels at nearly 420hp🤘😛
