- Hey guys just wanted to put this out quickly for those of you interested in the Lounges that are currently available. the permanent lounges pop in and out of the gemstore so i felt it was a good time to showcase them and give you guys some of my thoughts on which ones to pick up. if you plan on playing this game for any length of time it is totally worth it to purchase atleast one of these.

One big thing you missed with Thousand Seas is that it has a portal that will take you to a lot of maps in all expansions - very handy for getting alts to maps without having to either teleport to friend or do a story chapter
IMO, the Thousand Seas one is the best for PvE-OW since it lets you go to fishing holes in lots of zones as long as you own the expansion they belong to. That unlocks huge areas of the map that would otherwise be story-locked, even on new characters. The Jade Bot bench is another big plus.

Useful vid for comparisons. I have Divinity’s Reach and Mistlock Sanctuary. I kinda like that Cantha one though.

Oooh a cave dweller. I thought it was alright! Definitely an easy way to bring alts into HOT.
I think I'll get the Thousand Seas, I've been sticking with Lilly of Elon for a long time, but quick access to different maps and jade bot stuff is nice :)
I thought so too. All my chars don't have jade bot augments because I just can't be bothered.
There is technically 1 more lounge for spsp, but you need to be in top4 team on monthly tornament to get 2 weeks pass or recieve a permanent scroll form devs as anet partner. So its extremally exclusive stuff... with no tangeble bonuses...

*You can also fight in the Guild Hall now. No placable target golems yet, tragically.

I only did one, and I Won! Recouping some of the gold I converted to gems for the vid haha. Anet smiled on me today.

That's how I'm rolling for sure.
Thousand Seas and Mistlock Observatory are also pretty helpful if you want to easily maintain the well-rested buff, since they have direct portals to Arborstone and (it took a little too long for this one, imo) the Wizard's Tower. Their portals directly to the Eye of the North, as well, are a big help when trying to get to strikes.
You don't like the portal scrolls the game provides I guess? 😄 If you don't have some shared inventory slots and use different characters that's fair though ^^
@@DreiSchwerterZorro Not sure where you got that impression from; I have the portal scrolls for IBS on my main, but it's more efficient to use one slot on a Lounge Pass that has access to all EotN, Arborstone, and WT, than three slots for the IBS Tome, the Arborstone Scroll, and the WT scroll, especially when infinite gathering tools and Salvage-o-matics are competing for the shared inventory slot space (and especially before they added a WT portal scroll). But I can accept that it's probably a playstyle thing on my end.
I can’t believe that you didn’t mention the most important feature of any lounge, which is the ability to instantly return to the previous map you were in before visiting the lounge by double clicking on the lounge pass item a second time while you’re in the lounge. IIRC, this is only possible in the Mystlock Observatory and the End of Dragons lounges.
This is very important for parked alts, so they can access all of the features of the lounge and then instantly return to wherever you have them parked.
You can talk to npc near portal in almost all( if not all) and ask him to teleport you back from where you teleported in. Its extra step but it same functionality.
WvW lounge has this.

I was surprised to see this ability to return to previous map in open world lounges, like the Captain's Airship. Very handy.
Haven't played GW2 since 2015 because I was too broke to buy HoT. A few days ago I suddenly got the itch to play again and found your channel. I've been watching your content and "studying up" on the things I should do first. Fortunately I'm no longer a broke college student so I can afford all this crap now! Other than a lounge pass, what "must have" gem store items would you recommend? I have literally nothing from the gem store beyond cosmetics :|

Hey welcome back, personally I think the main gem store items that help a lot are: a lounge pass of your preference, a set of infinite gathering tools, copper fed salvomatic (and silver fed if you care about maximizing efficiency), and the Recharging Teleport To Friend- which helps you get to metas, finish weekly jumping puzzles or just unlock new areas. Combine those with some "shared inventory slots" and you're set. The gathering tools are ultimately preference, but imo the best ones are volatile magic ones- you can change out the glyphs on any of them though so just get a set you like.
recharging tp to friend went from 1 hr to 10min cooldown so it's a pretty damn good deal, even when not on sale. that is unless you have a ton of tp to friends from your toon's birthdays since you have 8/9 years of birthday gifts to open
@@saunorine I have like 80 left, but I'm keeping my eye open to buy the recharging one.
The only thing I would add is boss encounter portal thingy. Very useful, now includes convergences. Just the Tyria boss encounters plus Dragon Storm, Draktar ( sp?) and convergences. I was usuing multiple times a day for a long time.
You can convert your in-game earned gold to gems for free. Which means you can buy all items in the gemstore by farming gold in game without spending a dime
Royal Terrace is my favorite because of the degen and unhinged map chat in DR.

forgot the 'seven seas' pavilion could also teleport back like mistlock, it's nice to have a place to fish but I go to arborstone for that. It's definitely a much better feel as a place though, that's fair. My preference is still also mistlock. But thanks for showing all of them. Had a hard time choosing the first time I bought a VIP lounge pass.
I think that it's definitely a pretty lounge. The vibe is great, but the mistlocks access to fractals was my main appeal.
ALL lounges can teleport you back. Some let you do it with the pass itself, others you have to use the Asura Gate, but they all have that option
You forgot the best feature of the Thousand Seas, underwater golems so that you can test your underwater build for the new raid which will surely be a underwater one.
If new raid is underwater I'm going to quit the game.

I've just been using the crystal oasis/wizard tower teleport things from the story. I feel like they have everything. I assumed paying for more spots was a scam.
Eh it's about preference. To be fair now that I have all of them I need to dump them on an alt. Mistlock, Armistice, and Thousand seas might make their way to a shared inventory slot.

Abysall and ghostly are the main ones but I have the red SAB one, and I think poly-black

Its a good tune, but there are a lot of good tunes to be heard- and i have been rocking it for a while, i will still use it here and there but sometimes you just need a little variety :)
