If you hit F22 then hit the horn button, you can change the sound to a 3 chime Nathan M3 horn.

SD7 roof is NOT more streamlined, roof difference is because the SD9 CB&Q model has dynamic brakes while the BN SD7 model does not. Both prototypes were available with or without DB.

So back to where we started, the roof was more streamlined than the other model….

Is the BN 6004 a production sample? If so, then BLI committed another big BN error. The side sills should be painted green, not black.

It would appear, you're gettin the right sound from the wrong horn.

I hate to say this, and it breaks my heart to say it, but the bachmann N scale SD9 sounds 100 % more like a real SD9 than these BLI units do and at a lot less money. I love BLI locos and have several but their 1st Generation EMD units all lack the roots blower whine so characteristic of the early GM/EMD engines and that is severely disappointing. I used to sit by the tracks in my home town and watch the Old L&N Geeps switch the small industries in town just to hear that blower whine as they throttled the engines. Please BLI, more realistic EMD 567 engine sounds in all the old EMD engines

The sound systems in many of the BLI units leave something to be desired, but the quality of the models and their pulling power are solid counterbalances. BLI engines are more durable, better designed, and will far out pull their Bachmann counterparts.

Robert Price ive stood next to units with idling 567s. GP10, F7s etz and i think its pretty mucu spot on. Bachmanns sound like alcos. EMDs do NOT chug while there idling.

@@ReadingAreaRailfan No rhey have a heartbeat I know as well as I do my own, but the heavy Awwwwww sigh of the roots blower is ABSENT in all my BLI EMD locos. Yes they are quality engines ( i have over 40 of them) and the 567 and 710 sound like them at idle, but Bachmanns roots blower recording has them.beat

@@robertprice7246 yea but EMDs dont go CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK when they idle ive stood next to a GP10 they dont do that. They have a heart beat but they dont chug

@@ReadingAreaRailfan I agree with that. Its more like a softer Nuh-Nuh-Nuh-Nuh-Nuh-Nuh.
