    This is the first Mato WCC analysis I've watched without knowing the result already. I think I like it better this way.

    The King is alive! GM Susan Polgar was shocked during the game that Karjakin did not allow that draw by repetition on move 20, apparently a fatal mistake.

      Did he miss it? He surely couldn't hope to win again as black. Especially that he didn't even need to win anymore.

      He saw Nxf2 but not the forced repetition.

    At 4:10, instead of d5, could the black kingside pawns get up the board without losing tempo to support the Knights for a win?

    who do you think will win Mato?

  • @adrianswriting
    @adrianswriting 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm surprised that Karjakin didn't spot the draw opportunity at 4:10 (...Nxf2+ after Nd2), rather than his move of d5. Was he hoping for a win? Did he miss it? A draw would have kept him in the lead and put more pressure on Carlsen with time running out. Was psychology at play? I'm reminded of the seeming mind games between Short and Kasparov. It always seemed that Nigel Short would never be champion simply because Kasparov mentally dominated him, regardless of their abilities at chess.

    • @adrianswriting
      @adrianswriting 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      According to the reports, Sergey said he missed the draw available with Nxf2+. Psychology is a HUGE part of chess.

    • @theazrael4423
      @theazrael4423 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adrian Ellis, I was wondering why he didn't draw., also was it possible instead of the draw for black to quickly March his kingside pawns in support of the Knights for a win?

    • @hans-kristianbytingsvik1022
      @hans-kristianbytingsvik1022 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joachim Divko on norwegian television he once stated that most of his moves comed to him quickly and intuitively, but that he uses the time he's got to analyze if it's the right move or not.

  • @itecnus3490
    @itecnus3490 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man I've been waiting for you to say "White Played The Move and Black Resigned". Finally Carlsen has a chance to keep his title. Karjakin shills are probably crying atm

  •  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Karjakin nije vidio forsirani remi najvjerojatnije zbog umora.

  • @vladomisetic6296

  • @HeartlandTuber
    @HeartlandTuber 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to admit, I thought Carlsen was going to get crushed in the corner from the pressure of the rook and queen down the f file. I still do not understand how Karjakin failed to converted that attack to a win, instead, Carlsen not only equalized, but then maneuvered and broke through and won in a classic demonstration of patience and skill in the end game.

    • @citrus7487
      @citrus7487 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I thought Nh3 would break Carlsen too. Karjakin couldn't advance his attack even by positioning both his knights on close proximity of white king.

    • @theazrael4423
      @theazrael4423 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taner Yaşadır, also., could the black kingside pawns march quickly up the board to support the two nights?

    • @citrus7487
      @citrus7487 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      don dfactor Yes, they could but because both players castled king side, that would mean black would weaken his defences. I don't think someone would go for a play like that on World Championship Finals.

    As Fischer said: The old chess, means the chess they are playing is a bad game, and he hated it because of all those theory He said its ridiculous! all is about 1-memorization 2-prearrangement and opening theory and its not as creative as it was in the old times! He said also it has creativity, but creativity is not first on the list, maybe 4th or 5th on the list! The interviewer the asked are you better than Morphy? He said, yes of course because I just know much more theory and if Morphy comes to this world now, he might do badly against even masters!

    • @user-ts2co4ov5h
      @user-ts2co4ov5h 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fischer was wrong
      You can still get fascinating positions in the middle game and endgame. Order best attacking games of 2012-2015 on amazon and see for yourself. Imagination and creativity still play a huge role in chess.

    • @pierforce12
      @pierforce12 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, It might be that Fischer was wrong, but I just started to not like chess in general, I think competition is for horses not humans, and I don't like the type of people that go to chess, so meany, arrogant, and seem to not love each other, and just pretending to love each other!

    to be honest it's a boring game. no more unexpected tactitions like Nedzh, Tal, Fischer left anymore?

    • @planetyam6044
      @planetyam6044 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      it's very tactical. I agree, and unfortunettly the games that would allow this kind of suprising moves (like tal and fischer) were over. Now the two games left the both of players is gonna be more tactical and precise, no one of the players is going to risk now.

    • @juangrandoso6950
      @juangrandoso6950 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I believe that Tal and Fischer wouldn't have a chance against these guys, everything changed since computer engine came up. These positions are kind of impossible to break in with a "killah move" like the old years. That being said, I miss those games too.

    • @MultiBejn
      @MultiBejn 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      could you please define the " wouldn't have a chance" term ?

    • @tarikay93
      @tarikay93 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Modern players study with computers, and computers play the best moves in any given position. Any chess player from the non-computer era wouldn't have a chance against today's top players.

    • @MultiBejn
      @MultiBejn 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      High disagree from my side. It is a bit delusional tought if u'all think that fischer, tal, botvinnik, karpov, kasparov, etc. wouldn't be a match for caruana, karjakin, nakamura, anand and others.
