But, you could just as easily flip it on it's head. If a protagonist's ace card used the same ability, it can just as easily be construed to represent everyone else lending the vanguard their strength.
Well the villainous level here is that he was completely consumed in just using his skill when two rearguard attacks would have won him the game. And yet he instead just runs greedon into a pg.

23:40 NGL when the camera angle dropped down and we only got to see their shadows on the floor, I was convinced they'd pull a supernatural and ominous moment by showing Bavsargra's shadow instead of Mirei's, especially with Bavsargra's shadow spreading its wings as Mirei said "just like a king"
I kinda wish we could see supernatural elements. Because a "slice-of-life down-to-earth" card game anime suddenly getting involved into the usual card game shenanigans out of the blue would be interesting to see how they adapt
Actually if you see it their combined shadow has the starting part look a dog (maybe the lion without Mane) and then at the end of the shadow it looks Roundish (maybe the lion with Mane) Of course it could be nothing. But I think the showrunner were trying to make us focus on it ourselves.
So another great episode, especially since Yu-yu managed to put Shinobu in his place and the expressions Shinobu makes as Yu-yu is about to destroy him is priceless and satisfying. Also funny enough if Shinobu wasn't so greedy and attacked with the rear guards he could have won. We also get to see another factor in Mirei's instability, which is fine. Now time to see Tomari vs Masanori next week.
Greedon do need standing rearguards to use his effect so he can't really attack with them unless he did what Touya mentioned. But if he do that then he might not have enough cards for next turn as yuyu can retire. So Shinobu doesn't have that much of a choice.

I know Gredon's effect needs standing rearguards but Shinobu could have just not use the skill and win normally. In the end tho he got too greedy.

1st time watching the episode premier. It was a fun episode, and I'm pretty happy about this one since I got to see Nirvana shine here. The Heat Chicken deserves some love. Shinobu has no right to say that he's strong after Megumi and Yu-yu beat him. Guess his only strengths are his expressions. Next episode, Tomari vs Masanori!!! I can't wait!! I want to see Tomari win since the Aurora Battle Princess is the 1st deck I bought, and it's my introductory to Vanguard.

As much as I love Thunder Dragons as a Narukami player, I love Kagero and Flame Dragons and those flames were so beautiful. I love Overlord but I love that Yu-yu's whole deck is based on a group of priestess' and the main dragon is a beautiful, elegant phoenix. Overlord to me represents the destructive power of fire while Nirvana is its beauty
Seriously seeing Shinobu going to a paranoia panic attack when he is about to lose is so satisfying to see, as Yuyu and Vairina Valiente Rekts Greedon and and puts Shinobu in his f****** place, also Mahar Nirvana looks so cool and elegant at the same time. Next week Masanori VS Tomari and finally another cardfight with Tomari I felt that she doesn't get more cardfights this season, guess she'll crush Masanori for Zakusa's sake I guess.

This ep was awesome. From Shinobou scolding Yu-Yu for expecting to get double critical trigger on a twin drive to Yu-Yu telling nasty Shinbou to shut-up after being called weak & Shinobou's resaoning for why he plays vanguard this way I feel so blessed. Ty Bushi :)
Honestly the satisfying part was the fact shinobou could have won on the persona ride turn if he attacked with the Rare guards rather than using his Vanguard skill to eat everything and stand again (we know one of the cards in his hand is a great three because he drivechecked it meaning he could only block one attack) but shinobou couldn’t see that because is some reliance on his vanguard restrained ability that it completely slipped his mind that sometimes using it can be a bad idea. Honestly that is truly a genius moment in showing Shino Flaws front and dead center and it took me months to realize this

Bambi's mom gets shot, Lion King had the death of Mufasa and Scar, stories such as the goat family killing the wolf by cutting its belly open and filling it with rocks, the Puss In Boots ate the powerful sorcerer, the earliest versions of Red Riding Hood (before the brother Grim toned it down) included Red eating her grandmother who was turned into chopped meat by the wolf.....

He has a really nice car, which by the way, he didn't like the idea of Danji using. He hasn't shown any negative reaction towards anyone else but Danji in the series as far as I remember, which would make sense if he beat the crap out of him. He was also one of the first members of the new Daybreak and the flag burning didn't happen until after he joined. How did he find out about them so early on, and furthermore, why was he so inclined to help total strangers? I doubt he wastes his time surfing the internet for struggling creators to help without ANY ulterior motives. Now on to Zakusa. We only know a few things going on with him this season. #1 He is doing some spy work inside of Daybreak for some reason, which hasn't ended yet, and #2 he REALLY hates Masanori and is quite vocal about it even to other members of Daybreak, almost as if he's trying to convince them. I believe Zakusa is trying to investigate Masanori for some reason. Masanori is given a more prominent spot in the op than other members of Daybreak (excluding Danji and Mirei) as if he is more relevant to the story than even Haruka. Side Note: the op transitions straight from Masanori to Zakusa so there is a connection there. Finally, in this episode there was a scene where Masanori held Mirei's hand, and next episode's preview shows him with a rather unsettling look on his face. RANT OVER

The moment yuyu vs shinobu was announced i knew yuyu would put this brat to his place. But heck im more worried about tomari cuz she's gonna lose for sure😢😢
She has to win for there to be enough episodes for the fights with danji and mirei, so if tomari loses the fight there will be more episodes in this season compared to the last but that is highly unlikely.
Yuyu winning against Shinobu is pretty obvious because Blackout has something important they need to protect while the Daybreak is kinda fragmented on what they are trying to protect or what their fighting for in fact, Haruka fights for Mirei's "happiness", Shinobu fights solely out of greediness for his opponents' despair, Massanori most likely fights for a thrill regardless whether its for the right reason or not Danji(Nadatsugu) fights for Mirei as a brother and Mirei seems to fight based on her storybook "As a king" whether if she is fighting solely to act like the character in the story or for her own reasons is still unclear.

Okay I'm way late to make this comment, but the thing I was disappointed from this episode is that they took Greedon's cigar away. As a friend said, I think this was his quote, "No smoke, no cigar." Totally messed that up. But it was a reference to Graves from League of Legends. But then I went to go look at the official card and it turns out to be a bone. That's some Murphy's Law I be on! 😆 I legit thought he had a cigar this entire time! But the bone makes him look cool too.

If it weren’t for the damage from Mahar Nirvana’s skill, Shinobu would’ve survived the turn easily by not guarding against Nirvana’s attack, putting him at 6 Damage. He would’ve PG’d against Valiente’s attack, then for Rino, he has 45,000 shield: 2 Critical Triggers (shown when he guarded against Rino) and a Heal Trigger.
I think Blackout members are gonna win until they reach Danji...at that point maybe half of them gonna lose and only Tohya and Yu yu reaches Mirei. Mirei beats Tohya then Yuyu beats Mirei.
I think there's gonna be 2 possible outcomes after the Tomari vs Masanori fight; 1. Tohya beats Danji then Yuyu beats Mirei using the grade 4 Vairina. 2. Tohya loses to Danji but later on gets beaten by Yuyu leaving Mirei being a season 3 premier fight.
My predictions for the last fights Masanori vs Tomari, either Tomari wins or in the case she gets the L, we get Masanori vs Tohya, where Tohya wins. Danji vs Megumi, Danji wins Danji vs Tohya, Tohya wins Mirei vs Tohya, Mirei wins Mirei vs Yu-yu, Yu-yu wins

twin buckler let's you PG without having to discard if you only have 1 card in your hand. Twin buckler and the other nation variants of it are superior to the PGs you find in the trial decks
great episode but im a perfectionist sooooooo in the last turn yuyu shouldve flat out called the valiente instead of overdressing it that way he has two columns and potential for 5 attacks, first attack he swings with new nirvana because he has the chance of hitting an erger and the trickstar and valiente columns were already hitting for 13 which is capable of actually hitting the vanguard rather than what ended up happening, plus he would then obtain more resources through erger and more potential shield to have for the supposed next turn in case he didnt win that turn

Yuyu winning against Shinobu is pretty obvious because Blackout has something important they need to protect while the Daybreak is kinda fragmented on what they are trying to protect or what their fighting for in fact, Haruka fights for Mirei's "happiness", Shinobu fights solely out of greediness for his opponents' despair, Massanori most likely fights for a thrill regardless whether its for the right reason or not Danji(Nadatsugu) fights for Mirei as a brother and Mirei seems to fight based on her storybook "As a king" whether if she is fighting solely to act like the character in the story or for her own reasons is still unclear.

Okay I'm way late to make this comment, but the thing I was disappointed from this episode is that they took Greedon's cigar away. As a friend said, I think this was his quote, "No smoke, no cigar." Totally messed that up. But it was a reference to Graves from League of Legends. But then I went to go look at the official card and it turns out to be a bone. That's some Murphy's Law I be on! 😆 I legit thought he had a cigar this entire time! But the bone makes him look cool too.

If it weren’t for the damage from Mahar Nirvana’s skill, Shinobu would’ve survived the turn easily by not guarding against Nirvana’s attack, putting him at 6 Damage. He would’ve PG’d against Valiente’s attack, then for Rino, he has 45,000 shield: 2 Critical Triggers (shown when he guarded against Rino) and a Heal Trigger.
I think Blackout members are gonna win until they reach Danji...at that point maybe half of them gonna lose and only Tohya and Yu yu reaches Mirei. Mirei beats Tohya then Yuyu beats Mirei.
I think there's gonna be 2 possible outcomes after the Tomari vs Masanori fight;
1. Tohya beats Danji then Yuyu beats Mirei using the grade 4 Vairina.
2. Tohya loses to Danji but later on gets beaten by Yuyu leaving Mirei being a season 3 premier fight.
My predictions for the last fights
Masanori vs Tomari, either Tomari wins or in the case she gets the L, we get Masanori vs Tohya, where Tohya wins.

in the last turn yuyu shouldve flat out called the valiente instead of overdressing it that way he has two columns and potential for 5 attacks, first attack he swings with new nirvana because he has the chance of hitting an erger and the trickstar and valiente columns were already hitting for 13 which is capable of actually hitting the vanguard rather than what ended up happening, plus he would then obtain more resources through erger and more potential shield to have for the supposed next turn in case he didnt win that turn
