This technique works very well IF you are a careful weaver. You cannot catch a warp thread accidentally. Suggestions: 1. Use a dull needle or the eye end going through the beads. 2. Point your needle to the upper inside of the beads away from warp thread below as you go through the beads 3. Move the row of beads up and down before you tighten the row. If they do not move freely, you have pierced a warp thread. Remove needle and take that row out. Redo 4. If you need to add thread do not knit or half hitch. Keep the thread free and tie in after removing the piece and pulling all warp threads. Hope this helps! Happy weaving on the loom!
I am very impressed with the loop weaving setup. Thank you for the videos. So much easier to follow. I find that many other teach how to weave but not the adding of the threads, the removing and how to deal with the threads, all the way to the finished product. You do show how to do all that. Can you point me to a video that would explain how to attach the clasps to the bracelet?
I had trouble with the pull and pray method, too, but I think I got mixed up what sequence to pull everything. I ended up with three giant loops on a be end and two giant loops on the other. They had no more give, so rather than keep pulling, I had to cut them and weave in the individual warp threads 😒
Frangine Despres did you ever get a reply an email about this problem. I'm having the same problem I just bought this and I love it I enjoy it but I'm getting a headache already about to break the whole Loom bead because at the pulling method of the threat when the work is done it's not working. Did you ever got a reply or an email about this problem?
Y'all just need to grasp where the weft goes. Which directions to pull. Test it out. Once you grasp it, it'll be easy. You know how you go back and forth with one continual thread at the beginning? You'll essentially be deconstructing those loops. Try bigger beads and a smaller project at first. Just until you see how the warps pull through. This will be much easier to see plus you won't be spending tons of time and effort on a beautiful intricate piece only to feel like it's ruined. If all else fails, you can cut them and weave them through. It might make your project more bulky but hey, it'll be finished. I hope that helps. Keep looking for videos about casting off the warps. Good luck!
That's cool bit what if I added new thread and wove it back and forth and up and down? Will it still pull through? I'm considering buying that loom, been debating for years. It looks so plastic-y, is it made well?
I don't knot threads to add on, I just start the new thread back a few rows and weave my way up to where I want to continue adding beads (and weave back the short ending thread, too). I think that's why I CAN'T pull the warp threads, either. There's so much thread going back and forth through the beads where I ended and started threads that it's tangled around the warp threads. I'm stumped on a bracelet that has to go out in the mail today and want to scream. Guess the only thing to do is thread each warp thread (20 rows, so 40 threads) back into the project. Grrrrr. I'm curious what would happen if I just cut them and burned off the ends - anyone try that?
If your warp threads are too tight to pull through, you may want to look into beading thread. You want a thread that is very fine, very strong and won't dry rot. They come in sizes that correlate with your pony needles and bead sizes. All three sizes should fit together. Ask a beading specialty shop if you have one. Or ask one online.
Your thread may be too big for your beads, causing too tight a tension. There are beading thread sizes, pony needle sizes, and bead sizes. All should fit together.
I always mess up when it comes to pulling the threads. I need more help than what the video is giving me. It should be simple but it's not for me. I have a headache now. lol
+belushes I use this method too, its called the Pull and Pray. I didn't name it, its what its called! I use sticky tape, the kind for sealing up boxes, to tape the work down onto the table. Make sure to tape the work only, if you tape even a little of the loops, it won't work as well. Once all the loops have been pulled, I square stitch a row at each end to hide the loops that had the beads on it. Another method is to add beads to the warp string. Warping this way means that you won't have the loop strings showing on your finished piece. When you are finished pulling, it will look like missing teeth on each end, you just sew in beads using square stitch into the "holes". You will be left with long threads that you can use to sew in your findings, and or pretty up the side edges too. You can pull the loops so that both the extra threads is on one side, or one for each end.
+Mermaid Jaffa Thanks, I see you make videos and I only saw one video on here talking about the pull & pray method. The only thing is it's in Japanese. I was wondering since you make videos if you can make a tutorial explaining and showing the method? I'm 7sure a visual aid would help people out. It would be great if you can but thanks either way.
Yea, that Japanese one was how I learned the method. I put it on mute, don't understand Japanese either, and just copy what she does at the end. I will try to make a video of it soon, just got to make a bracelet first!
Very clear instructions and I love the calm voice of Ms. Porter!

Wow, Carol, I loved how you finished the project. I am going to definitely give it a try. Thank you so much for sharing such a valuable video.

Same! But on a project with 95 warp threads, just having ten or so to do was worth it.
It was a disaster and had to redo the entire project..... I have tried on a few projects and it never worked, do you have another method????? Please

I'm considering buying that loom, been debating for years. It looks so plastic-y, is it made well?
Thank you for this very nice video. What type of loom are you using. Can it adjust for very small pieces? Thank you!
What do you do about the knots where you have added thread on during a larger loom project. Looks like they would pull and mess the warp threads up.
I don't knot threads to add on, I just start the new thread back a few rows and weave my way up to where I want to continue adding beads (and weave back the short ending thread, too). do you have a video of how you warped the loom to make it that easy to come of and do that method
brilliant why did i not find this a while ago
Can you do peyote patterns on any beading loom

Did you wax your strings because I have not had much luck using this method? What type of thread do you use?
I can't seem to pull the warp threads thru. Please help.
Your thread may be too big for your beads, causing too tight a tension. There are beading thread sizes, pony needle sizes, and bead sizes. All should fit together.
When working the needle might have caught the vertical threads.
i tried this method but i ended up ruining the tension of my piece so I just weaved the threads back into the piece instead
Happy to hear you were able to fix your piece!
That was fantastic, thank you!!!
