Hobie really like to see this yak in hi viz green. I talked with coast guard. They agree this is the easiest colour to spot on the water hence the safest.
With the livewell for livebait where do you store fish if your chasing a feed. Currently trying to workout this problem of where to store pelagics when livebaiting in Australia
We like the Hobie Large Fish Bag/Soft Cooler (pn 72020111) on the bow, secured with three on either side of our black nylon Pad Eyes (pn 71110001). Use #10 hardware to thru-bolt the pad eyes onto the downward angle of either side of the bow, and be sure to back them with washers. This location will still allow you to turn the kayak upside down on roofracks easily. Clip the D-Rings on the bag to the black nylon padeyes using a slim stainless steel s-biner, like the ones from Nite Ize. With a full livewell, the weight will be nice and balanced.
Awesome kayak... any plans on Hobie offering 2-4 year guarantees on the mirage drive and kayak similar to what some of the other manufacturers are doing?
At least a longer one in the hull that's the reason why i didn't get a hobie yet. 2 years for a hull and with all the people i see with cracked hulls its uneasy for me to fork up that kind of money for one
I have the original Hobie mirage from 2002, I've had her for a few years now and was expecting her to break within 1 or 2 seasons. While the V1 drive chain broke twice and the second time I decided to upgrade to the V2 with the upgrade kit, the plastic hull of the kayak has 0 issues. I've beaten the hell out of her and she just keeps going. I might be the only person that's still on the water in one of these, and I out fish everyone in their fancy outbacks, pro anglers, and even the boaters. You would think their technology has improved over the years, but I guess they just don't make 'em like they used to?
The Anchor Trolley kit allows you to move the leverage point of your anchor all the way to the bow or stern of the kayak for safe anchoring in current, from subtle to swift.
New model year kayaks release at the end of the previous year. This video was produced when the new Outback launched at the end of 2018 (2019 Model Year). Admin updates TH-cam titles with the year in it to reflect current model year. The only change to 2020 Outback vs 2019 the the Kick-Up fin technology.
Truly spectacular!
I hope one day to be able to make this dream come true, having this model!
Compliments!

Awesome vid Howie!
I wish the V2 livewell wasn't so deep front to back enabling putting two accessories in the rear storage area such as a h-crate
Andrew Conrad try the diy live well made of a vittles vault dog food container at petco they make small ones and big ones
HOBIE RULES
Unfortunately my water is now frozen, so my new outback shivers in the pole barn...

Omazing semagat terus boss
Why can't you guys put a removable bucket in the front hatch so stuff doesn't slide all over and to the back of the kayak?
We offer a drop-in bucket for the front hatch: PN 72020109
