It's too much work to redraw ps2 textures for 3 big ass open world games for such a small studio, rockstar should've made this collection in house with an actual budget instead of hiring a 45 to 60 person group to remake these classics.
@@DARS_04 funny thing is, they probably would had made much more money and reputation if they remade ONE GAME AT THE TIME properly instead of doing all at once and outsourcing to barely legal indonesian labor on shoe string budget.
They threw their opportunity to milk this trilogy into garbage can.

They just could have just slapped on high fidelity lighting and it would have been FINE.
I don't even want to know what would have happened then. Probably everything would have lens flares, EVERYTHING, a whole screen of lens flares, bloom, and RGB lighting.

All they had to do was fix the hands, leave the rest of the models alone if they were too lazy to redo the playdough structure, remove songs they “didn’t have the budget” to license again, fix the softlock where if you use cheats and then get to the mission where the guy jumps off the roof you can NEVER catch him in time, and add in shark cards at the casino. That’s all they had to do and they would have a winner.

I’m thinking now that the visual style of the characters isn’t supposed to be cartoony but it’s a result of whatever AI they used, when I scaling the already horrendously low res textures, it just smudges and muddies the details into a blob and makes everyone look like dough

The cartoony art style isn't on purpose, they ran all of the games through the same AI upscaler, meaning the style bled over from 3 and Vice City.

Joel keeps talking about how it runs bad because it's the Switch, but there's absolutely no reason for this game to run as bad as it does. The Switch is powerful enough to run this ugly piece of shit. It was just pure incompetence.

why is the quality on 720p when the rest of the videos had at least 1080p?
The original Stream quality was ruined because Windows updated while Joel was streaming it. Even though I originally upscaled it, the end result had numerous quality and artifact issues because the original video bitrate was really bad so I decided to stick with the original 720p quality.

If I remember correctly, the going rate for a big title like San Andreas in 2004/2005 was around US$30. They're asking US$60 for this version. Adjusted for inflation, this would've cost US$42.16. They're selling this Vaseline-slathered mess for more than the original price.
