The layered sound is thanks to Flood and Alan Wilder ...lyrics by Martin Gore...these lyrics are pretty straightforward 😆but more often than not he at times leaves such a universal message of the human condition one can project whatever you want...itll mean something different to you across time...
In my opinion, Violator is their best album they've ever made (14 albums have been made over the years 1981- 2017), and World In My Eyes is the best tarck on the album, having said that, there is not a single track on the album I skip when I listen to it.
The guy where you said...who is that guy...is Martin Gore. You liked his haircut in one of your previous DM reactions.. Personal Jesus maybe? He was playing guitar in that one and has written most of their songs since Vince Clarke left after the first album. Liking your style by the way 😎

VIOLATOR is by far the best album to me ever.... I can listen to it from start to finish anytime and have done since 1990.... I feel they lost alot when Alan left, but im probably in a minority. enjoy the album and i look forward to seeing your reactions..
Couldn’t agree more, violator is a masterpiece, experimental sounds and instrumentals at its best, Alan wilder is a genius, he was mostly the man behind these beats, I also think since Alan left, Depeche Mode never were the same. They musical quality downgrade but they are the best for me anyways😂. The devotional album is the last masterpiece made by Alan wilder before he left.
