Another little suggestion, carry a roll of “Flex-Tape” it’s water proof and just in case you hit something in the water and get a crack on the hull you can put some on it and it will keep the water from coming in too and allow you to get back to the dock….Thanks for sharing your video.
Brought a 2024 Sea Doo GTX Limited 2 weeks ago. Won't be putting it in the water until I get a Catch Can, Tow Shut Off Valve, Scom and the Bilge Pump Added. The location of the Bilge Pump Water Exit is a great idea. I will have my installed in the same location..... THANKS AGAIN.. Oh' I have already added the 550 Cord...(SMILE)
Great video. Me and my friends have been riding almost every weekend in the summer for years and I learned several new thing and got some ideas on some additions needed for out riding days
Have have the exact model/year of SeaDoo, love it! I also ride in open water, and go fishing a lot of the Detroit River. Certainly going to incorporate most of these ideas. I have necessary marine radio, etc...but a big problem basically results in me ditching the ski, which will certainly sink. Question on the GPS, which I'm going to do this winter. Did you get the SeaDoo "mount" for the transducer, which seems to put it in a specific spot, or did you just follow the Garmin instructions and locate it according to their recommendations. Last, I'm guessing the included SeaDoo cover still works with the GPS arm/mount on the mirror cover and the unit removed?
Thanks for your comment. As to your questions: 1. I am not a fan of putting extra holes in the hull of the PWC. To that end, I purchased a thru-hull transducer which did NOT come with the GPS as a standard component. You can see in the video where I mounted. Garmin provides instructions on mounting. 2. Yes, the standard OEM cover has a pocket that unzips to allow for the GPS.
So kind of you to leave a comment. Hopefully, you picked up something in the video that is helpful and applicable to how you use your machine. Happy riding!
It is the best insurance policy you can have. A few $100 and some time. Definitely worth it. Lots of TH-cam videos and other info on the Sea Doo FB owners site. Cheers.
I’ve had two batteries go out on me. Luckily one was right at the ramp when I tried to fire my ski up to put it on the trailer. The other one I was out about 5 miles from the ramp. The problem with those jump starters is when your battery goes out you can’t jump it. It’s dead. You need something to sustain power because you ski will not run with a dead battery. I’ve thought about using one of those, but just decided to carry a spare battery.
@@danav3387 thanks for the comment. Interesting point. I know on the Fish Pros there is a second batter. If you’re on the ST3 hull you could add a second battery with the Sea Doo kit. But carrying an extra batter work too. Removing the battery is a pill. Enjoy the rides.
Brian, thank you for all the information. I like the mod with the knob for the screws towards the front of the cover. I would like to talk to you or see a video of how you did the bilage pump with the exit holes towards the front of the ski.
Thank you for the questions. You can find the nuts on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RW9ZH4H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For the bilge pump, I bought this 1000GPM Johnson Pump and then a three-way bilge pump switch: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001Q8KQFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are lots of pumps, switches, mounting options to choose from. Do your research and find what works for you. As to how I plumbed it, you could see in this video the general location of where I mounted the pump. Then I took the 3/4" hose and ran it up the starboard side of the PWC. There are these ports that run from the engine compartment up to where the nose cone is. Watch this video and at about three-minute mark the maker explains exactly how to fish the hose: th-cam.com/video/5TqyKTOQSe0/w-d-xo.html I found this video when I was installing my Garmin GPS and thought that I could do the same thing with the exhaust hose for the bilge pump. So, I fished the hose through the routing port, then drilled a hole in the nose cone for a thru-hull fitting, and used a hose clamp to attach the hose to the thru-hull fitting. That location is where the water exits when the pump is triggered. As I said in the video, you can replace that piece of plastic in the nose cone for $30-40 via any Sea Doo parts website. If you decide to install a switch, you'll need to figure out where you want to install it. I cut a hole in the storage compartment and mounted it there. You'll need to wire it to your battery with a fuse. I used heat shrink on all of the connections. Then, zip-tied everything neatly. I hope this addresses your question(s), or at least gets you started. If not, please reply and ask. Good luck.
Thanks for the comment. I did not remove anything. I used a dremel tool and cut out an opening to put the switch in. Then, put some silicon and screws to hold it in place. Once you cut the opening, you can fish the wires through. Good luck.
Great video with several important tidbits & bonus nuggets of info! Especially important to me, since I venture 24 miles out to sea, to sportfish off my Seadoo. Is it necessary to wire-up the bilge pump with a switch, if it has a built-in auto-float? Also, I'm going to be moving up from a 2005 RXT to a 2018 RXT with the linq system. Is there a way to retrofit an off the Walmart shelf Igloo cooler with linq attachments to fit the 2018 RXT ski? - Thanks!
Thanks for watching and for the comment. 1. Do you need a switch on a bilge pump? Answer: No, you don't have to put a switch on it. But, how do you know the pump is fully operational if you just wire it up and forget it? I liked the switch as it was a deliberate action I had to take each time and I could ensure the pump still had power and was working. Maybe you don't need that. 2. Linq+cooler? Answer: I've seen FB and TH-cam threads about this. It is doable, I encourage you to search and you can probably find a thread on it. As for me, I use my Yeti Roadie for more than just the Sea Doo and didn't want to permanently mount Linq points to it. Thanks for watching and happy riding!

Thank you for the comment. You can never be too prepared. Enjoy the riding!
Good stuff, i carry a lot of the same things.
I sure would like to see/hear more about how you routed the bilge discharge.
Great video, thank you sharing.
Glad you found it helpful.

Great video. Very informative. I'm new to the PWC arena. I have a Seadoo Fishpro Trophy and have been learning as I go.

@@BriansEscapadesabsolutely. The best part is the location of the exhaust very good!
