I just picked one up yesterday. I'm going to get the marine epoxy today. Should have it all done by the weekend. Great install video man. I really appreciate it.

I'm watching this video for the second time. Because I can't believe how easy it is to install.

Thanks for the help. I just installed it on my 24 rxt-x 325. Same thing, nothing even when adding the bucket though. I didn't want to wait until I took it to the lake, I took out the depth finder and stuck it over a bowl of water and it worked. On the 24 the depth is on the left guage in the middle. I hope this helps someone as your video helped me. Thanks!!

Nice! I’m glad this video helped you out. Yeah, the testing process to ensure the depth finder works is a bit strange.
Thank you for your feedback. By the way, where are you from?

@@TheOceansideGuy Yeah I thought it would show something on the dash but maybe not the depth, nothing pops up though. We're in Bonney lake, WA

Do we the depth finder icon show up on your display?

@@TheOceansideGuy nothing was showing up at all. Once I put it over water it just showed the depth on my left guage in the middle without me scrolling or anything, just popped up!

Hey Deric … Enjoy all your videos, appreciate the effort of explaining in detail to those of us with simpler minds
    I recently purchased a 2024 GTX 230
and would like to install the depth finder
    in the same manner
In doing a preliminary check, I’m noticing a few differences in mine
    (Hoses & Electrical Connections)
I’ll be reaching out to my local SeaDoo Service guys to ask about those and if they impact the installation
(Online instructions are very limited & not up to date)
I can report back any findings after my install

Hi, thank you for your feedback and info on your 2024 GTX 230. I would only guess that the insulation would be quite similar with the electrical connection which may be the only difference.
I’m interested in what you find. Please let me know.
Thank you so much for your support of the channel.

You could just use Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 Fast Cure correct.

Yes, it’s marine grade so I don’t see why not.

Getting ready ro do this myself. Did the gel sticker come with your kit? I've seen a need for a cup of water or somehing similar under the sensor for it to work. Bet your work and connections were just fine. Ive also learned if you plan to run a SCOM, you can't have both running to that data port. Speed control would need ro be removed at ECU so depth could use the data port. Thanks for the great video 👍

Yes the gel pad came with it. Just not the loctite. Thanks for the comment! Have fun! Glad my vid helped. Thanks for the feedback.

Great video, very informative and fun to watch. How deep do you expect your depth finder to work?
My Seadoo factory installed depth finder shows bottom until about 800 feet, then blinks out.

Very very helpful. Neither the shop instructions or the user manual share that the display will not show the depth option UNLESS the depth transducer is in contact with water or similar. What a poor design. Shame on Sea-Doo for such poor documentation. Thank you so much for documenting what Sea-Doo did not.
