Becca Bag - Birkinz Inspired by TobiStylx Bag Pattern - Full Tutorial

- In this video, I walk you through how to assemble and sew the Becca Bag - Birkinz Inspired by Tobistylx Bag Patterns. I walk you through all the steps of making this bag and share some tips and tricks along the way. This video is filmed like a sew along. If you don't want to watch the part where I sew or am doing other things, you can always fast forward or adjust the speed of the video, so it is faster. However, there are times I give tips and tricks while sewing. I figured filling in some of those moments with some helpful information, makes it a bit more interesting to watch.
Also to note, I do not give any measurements, show pattern pieces or use any measuring tools on camera, in any tutorials I film. This is for the protection of the pattern/designer and also because I often film tutorials during testing and measurements or other things can change. So, to ensure the tutorials are accurate and match with the pattern, I don't give this information. You will need to have your pattern open on another device, printed, or open on your computer to follow along with each step and be able to refer to measurements or seam allowances given. If you have the video open on your computer and want to also have the pattern PDF open on your computer, you can minimize this TH-cam video and move it to a corner on your screen, it'll be smaller but you can still see it and have the pattern open as well.
The machine I sewed this bag on is a Juki TL-2200 QVP Mini and I used a 90/14 needle and changed to a 100/16 needle for stitching on the binding. I used waterproof canvas for the exterior, Moonglow Vinyl for the accent pieces, Zipper Pocket Overlay and Slip Pocket Trim, and quilting cotton for the lining. For thread I used Gutterman All Purpose Polyester Thread. You'll want to use the needle and threads that work best for your machine.

Oh and I purchased the locks from Bringberry immediately after seeing your video the other night (rose gold and gold). Looking forward to making my own, just have to decide on what colour lol!! I was wondering where do you get your DST that you are tearing off ? I got some DST that Tammy had sold to Manda but they arent bringing it in anymore because of the american to canada cost factor. I think tandy might sell some tape that rips like yours too but I thought to ask you first before I go hunting! TIA

I get my DST from Wawak Canada and Amazon. I like the Wawak one a bit more because oddly enough it's a better price and you get more. 😃

You wouldn’t put the anchor open side down? It would keep the strap from slipping up. I love the bag. I can’t imagine shopping with it. You’d hold the line up for 5 minutes while you try to get inside the bag. 😂
You don't have to use the lock, if you don't want to have to fumble with this while in a line at a store. I address this in the video, as I was thinking the same thing. 😊
Looks like a really cute bag, but I don’t think I would want to go through all them straps just to open and close the bag. 🤔
Thank you! 😊 ❤️ In the video I address not using the lock because of how long it can take to open. You can leave the lock off and just use this as a twist lock. 😊
I bought her bundle that includes this pattern, and even though I’m printing it at actual size, I find the 1 inch square doesn’t match up.. do you have that issue?
Are you opening in Adobe and printing from Adobe? If you use any other software, it can cause printing issues, unfortunately.
@@mgrahamsews yes sadly that is what I’m doing and it’s still not working. I even had my father-in-law try from his computer, still the same thing
That's very strange, I didn't encounter this problem. Another thing, in the settings, do you have the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" checked off? Also, under 'Comments & Forms' do you have it as Documents and Markups? Finally, is the page size at 8.5 x 11.0in?
A word of advice, and I'm not trying to be rude, forgive me if you get offended, it is not my intention! Human beings get drawn by their 👀 eyes; in order, to make them focus on your content. So, it is a challenge to try to keep someone watching your videos all the way through, and when you have ads popping up every 6 minutes, it takes away from the focus of enjoying when you're putting this beautiful bag together. Please, I understand that you want to make as much money from these videos because TH-cam might not pay you enough, but it annoys me when I'm constantly being interrupted by ads. So if you can put fewer ads, I'll truly appreciate it.
I'm sorry about the ads. However, I have ZERO control over this. This is a TH-cam thing, not something I do or add, and trust me, if I could I would NOT have them. In terms of money, I make ZERO dollars off any of the tutorials I film. My channel is not monetized, I don't get paid from anyone or anything, I don't get supplies for free, I literally make nothing off filming these tutorials. I film all of my tutorials all for FREE. These tutorials take a lot of my time and money... Money out of my pocket and time from myself and my family. I film them because I was to share my love of sewing and my knowledge. I can't control the ads, how many ads there are, etc. Again, that is a TH-cam thing. TH-cam does have an option where you can have a paid subscription and you won't see any ads. This is the only way to avoid them. I know I watch videos and see ads, I just wait for the option to skip them, and continue on.
