In this scene, I think his parents actually achieved what they wanted: Percy stopped being a nervous, reclusive inexperienced young man and started standing up for himself. He acted in a way he'd never acted before and put a very experienced woman in her place, which is something he'd probably never done before in his life.
In this scene at 0:49 - 1:09 where Maddie arrives the house and looks surprised seeing Laird and Percy said: "Did I double book?", what does that mean? Maddie wasn't expecting to see the parents? But prior to this scene, Laird mentioned if Maddie could convince Percy to go to Princeton, he would sign the title of the Buick later in the day. That would presume Laird and Allison did ask Maddie to go over their house but Laird looked kinda surprise when Maddie arrived. This scene is kinda confusing, could anyone help? Thank you, appreciate it!
I'm just as confused as you are with that scene, I think maddie is coming to the house because percy wanted her to meet his parents and have dinner. By the way she's dressed would suggest that, but why percy said "did I double book" I have no idea. Plus why do they start eating dinner before maddie arrives?. Very odd scene.
Mom’s face expression is just priceless all through out the movie!😂
yeah i noticed that too, she was pretty good

In four years we'll both be seniors 😂😂
what does it mean
@@mahebang5444 it means he'll be a senior in college and she'll be senior citizen because she's so old.
Maddy will be in her late 30's in 4 years...Lord....THAT is a senior citizen? Yikes!! By those calculations, I belong in a museum 😂

What was the truth in this scene?
Where is this dress from?
it's funny because it is true
"Failure to launch" meets more raunchy content. Simple premise.
failure to lunch
Awkward
I wasn't expecting much out of this movie and got even less. :)

One of filmdom's most disagreeable characters. A trip to the woodshed from time to time would have done him wonders.
