Jennifer Lawrence produces and stars in No Hard Feelings, a laugh-out-loud, R-rated comedy from director Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys) and the co-writer of Bad Teacher.
Maddie (Lawrence) thinks she’s found the answer to her financial troubles when she discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to "date" their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, and bring him out of his shell before he leaves for college. But awkward Percy proves to be more of a challenge than she expected, and time is running out before she loses it all.

The fact that she's chowing down on the snacks is a great touch. The normal response of somebody who doesn't have much money, when confronted with free food!
I relate to this lmao
what if it needed multiple takes?
It can also show that you are nervous. I do this sometimes like at a job interview or at a meeting :D
Whenever I go to someones house and a spread is provided it usually implied that the host wants to show good faith and friendship. Were it to go untouched it would be a great insult as if to say you are rejecting the host's friendship
@@cobraelectricThis. OP is just being a dick for no reason
"Just call me Layered."
"I can't."
lmfao
Classic Ferris!😂🤣✌️
Laird is such a rich white guy name tho.
I like how she goes for the snacks like she's starving🤣
The character is broke, so that's a nice touch, if intentional.
And yet when I was broke, I did the exact same thing, lol.
@@Caerdrys I was once broke, and keep on doing it, like who knows when you will eat again? Except that I am comfortable now.
Well, to be fair, she DID skate all the way over there! And she's not exactly overweight... yeah, I'd feed her... then let her lounge around my pool... in her birthday suit... what? 😎
oh gawd.. lame
3:23 The photo they show of the son is him with his parents and a helicopter! Very subtle, very symbolic.
?
@@ihtishamkhan7108 At 3:19 she asks, "Is this [Percy]?" Pointing to the photo. At 3:23 it shows a close up of the photo, showing the family next to a helicopter. As the movie progresses it becomes apparent that the parents are "helicopter parents," defined as "a parent who takes an overprotective or excessive interest in the life of their child or children." So the helicopter photo is a bit of a foreshadowing pun, or play on words.
I thought it just indicated rich, but your post reminded me of "helicopter parents" !
Meaning?
Good observation. For those that don't get it, there is a term called "helicopter parent", it means when a parent or parents micro-manage their child; constantly want to know where they are, what they are doing, what they are watching, who their friends are, etc. Constantly hovering over them like a helicopter. Percy's parents are helicopter parents, and I am jealous, I wish my parents hired Jennifer Lawrence to date me.
I think this is my favorite scene in the film. The "I just turned 29" exchange, and when she pops the snack in her mouth after "good answer". This is classic comedy.
Is it? Is it tho?
if this is your fav seen im assuming this is the most boring movie in history
@@scottgust9709 Humour is subjective. The humour in this film may not be to your liking. But to anyone who's interested, the comedy in this scene is typical of the film.
@@barbarakiewe2870 No. So much no.
@@williammccormick984 No, humour is NOT subjective? Or no, the humour in this film may NOT not be to your liking? Or no, the comedy in this scene is NOT typical of the film? You've not been very clear.
She looks soo good in this movie
The mom? Yeah
And just about every other movie she's in
She looks so good every single f*cking movie she is in.
@@GatoCapitalistabut moreso in this movie, obviously, where shes playing a hot girl.
Maybe because you are a guy and in mid 20s
I love this two people for their roles as parents in the movie they did an excellent job
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
"I'll date his brains out" 😂
“Layered?? As in lasagna?” 🤣😂🤣🤣
😂😂
Ferris Bueller turned out to be a pretty understanding parent.
ferris worried because he doesnt do what he did
I so want to see Jim Carrey knock on that window behind where the parents are sitting and shout "CABLE GUY!!!" 😂
CABLE-GOOLAH!
0:25 This is the exact way Rich arsholes treat you...
the scene setup here is true Art, where they're standing up like on a pedestal, there's a Staircase and they're looking down, All Fake smilling and greeting formalities.
The directors and producers vision is phenomenal
Its these Subtle things which go Unnoticed in Movies because they're so well blended and in flow.
Rich people do treat people like that though.
Laura Benanti's *deadpan humor* has always been underutilized, but @3:08 her "OK... uh-uh..." just SO on point! 😂😂😂
The second "date him" is soooooo funny😂😂😂
That scene is awesome! So funny! Laura Benanti is hilarious (and beautiful)! And, of course Jennifer and Matthew are great, as always!
This scene was perfectly written, cast, and acted. Timing was impeccable LOL!!!
2:30-2:42 O_o
I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYONE DESCRIBE ME THIS PRECISELY like for real kskfkskd I'd literally be screaming at how much this resonates with me! In short, that's me in a nutshell.
Same😂 Every single thing he said describes me
Jennifer is so gorgeous ❤
Jennifer looks amazing
"Helicopter" parents... and their fave pic of their only child is taken with... a HELICOPTER! Oh, those high-brow writers and their "allegory" thaaang... 🤣🙄🙄🙄
She is so damn beautiful
Damn, how come my parents never got me a girl like this.
that's how people used to get marrie
They were not rich enough? Or you never gave them a reason to worry. Or - you are gay.
Probably a mix between reason nr. one & reason nr. two
You should stay in your room more often (kidding).
You are just poor
Most parents want you to find girl by yourself.
Why didn't she just take off the roller blades and then walk up the stairs???😂😂😂
I Walk up stairs all the time with skates. You gotta open a V to the front. And lock the front wheel of your fitness skates. I turned off when that came on TV.
This movie reminds me of the 2006 movie "Failure to Launch",with Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Jennifer is soo beautiful ❤
Jen makes this movie. Everybody else makes it work.
i always compulsively eat the snacks provided too.
I paused it after a minute because I've decided to watch it when I get home.
Of course he doesn’t do anything you did dude! You are Ferris Bueller 😂
My most favourite scene of this movie.
I liked Matthew Broderick's Buick reference (Ferris Bueller's Day Off).
I think his dad drove an Audi in Ferris Bueller
My old-school father was a helicopter parent in the sense that when I'd get in trouble he'd threaten to throw me out o a helicopter!
😂😂😂
This movie is a perfect example of where our society is headed.
Yup, lot of guys are becoming like percy..
@@Ghostrider-ul7xn A lot guys are becoming like Percy, introverted, shut-in and scored of relationships. And women are becoming more like Jennifer Lawrence character who're ready to anything when it comes to money even selling themselves.
@@pratheekshenoy9327What you see online (or read in news) isnt a representation of reality. When you say women are becoming willing to do whatever for money, do you include your mother in it too or is it just for women you have never interacted with? Typical “women are whores” typa mentality.
@@Ghostrider-ul7xn think about why that is. A lot of men aren't going the same direction women are. They don't want women like Jennifer Lawrence in this movie.
I wonder if casting Mathew Broderick was supposed to evoke the freakishly independent teenager Ferris Beuller, as though there's a disapproving Beuller spirit present. The overal impression I get of Laird is "tame Ferris Beuller living vicariously through his son"
Can’t help but wonder if Matthew Broderick playing Laird along with his dark-haired wife are an indirect nod to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off - sort of like an ironic twist on what could have happened if Ferris and Sloane had married and had a son - not at all like Ferris! 😅
"jusbcall me Laird" is yhe best thing. Everblol
Damn, I didn't even recognize Matthew Broderick. He looks 70 if he looks a day.
Reminds me of Thomas Hulce in Stranger Than Fiction ... another guy I didn't even recognize when he got old and doughy.
If she's good at handling such questions, I'm sure she's an ace at job interviews in reality. Hehehe. Do such parents exist in reality, I wonder 🤔
I needed a Maddie when I was 19. I was a lot like Percy. Hell, I had worked jobs, but nothing as social as an animal shelter. My friends were all fringers like me, so it was the blind leading the blind. College was pretty much a write-off. Socially it was, and because I was so depressed about it, academically as well.
Matthew Broderick rocking the 'Jimmy Page' look
You are beautiful and best actress
Why didn't she just take the effing skates off.
That's how you know she's a bit of a crack.
She arrives on roller skates, but in the house she's wearing those high shoes...
Remember when Cuba Gooding Jr did Boat trip after winning an oscar, this is Jennifer's Lawrence version of that
❤🎉❤ "we didn't come by this easily!" 🎉❤🎉
Wow that is amazing message.. dad is old but mom is young 🎉🎉🎉
This is where the soundbite comes from!
He'd be most parents' dreams but a healthy, normal child is worrisome.
not having friends is not ok nor healthy
Matthew Broderick looks like Jimmy Page here
The one time she didn't trip on the stairs.....
took me 2&1/2 minutes to realize that's mathew broderick with a beau bridges type style and gutteral voice
Its somewhat strange to see Matthew Broderick as a 50’s something parent. Wargames is still fresh in my mind.
And he doesn’t even look like Ferris Bueller now. I know ageing is a thing but he still looked like Ferris in his later years but I don’t see it at all now
Matthew Broderick is in his 60s. He wouldn't pass for a guy in his 50s.
@@bengilhooly3616 He put on a lot of weight. I won't be hard on him though, he's in his 60s.
Then you are as old as him lmao.
good job
Totally caught me off guard. I highly wreck-o-mend dis flick-a-show.
she said tact so you're hired.
Is a good role for Jennifer she is so funny what rare ability women have
I don't drink, but I drive. That is the reason why I met my wife.
I can already tell, this is one of those movies that only works if all of the characters are complete idiots.
That's the pleasure of being complete idiots with them time to time
Yeah, like it's a comedy or something.
Omg I just realized this movie is like Failure to Launch because the movie is about parents hiring a woman to help their son wow😂 thats kinda familiar
It’s that Matthew Broderick? He sure looks bright.
Actually the premise that you cant send him to college like that is a lie... college literally helps kids go through all that
Those are not helicopter parents. They are trying to get their son out from under them.
I don't know why but I find this so disturbing. Even though I know I was subject to this behavior too. Someone should do a study, on helicopter parents and see if there is a correlation from this type of parenting and the child being more introverted.
We good people
Anyone notice that 'she' is 10 years older than 'he', but 'dad' is like 15 years older than 'mom'.
Yeah saw that. 😒. So typical of our ''culture.''
Hilarious.
So he is going to Princeton and isn’t getting involved with nonsense or intellectually wasteful things so there is something wrong with him? Ridiculous!
odd interview. your hired!!!!!!
Matthew Broderick looks *SOOO OLD.*
In real life he's only 10 years older than me, but they made him look ancient in the movie,@@nakedfreak1.
What happened to Ferris?
I kind of want to see this, but the predictability of it might ruin it for me.
It's not predictability, you're on here watching all the clips out of context.
Courteney Cox ... wow
That's not Courteney Cox.
J Law 😊👍👌😆👌✊🍁
is that ferris bueler?
she looks like the stenographer from JUdge Judy
Owe me a splonkin
Ferris is looking ruff !
Dude everyone is going to get old. He looks old. He aged.
1:37 technically shes right about what shes saying, well yes and no because I've met people middle age and elderly who behave like idiots.
Yeah, and the reason is that these people do not develop further on various levels.
@@Endeavour30 the reason why some people behave that way is because a person behaves that way in their family or they don't have enough dating experience. Also when the COVID pandemic was around and for some folks that didn't go out much and when they started going out again they forgot how to behave in public.
@@ben_cena People mature to a certain level, and then they kinda stop. Covid or no Covid.
@@squamish4244 Here's the thing: if I ever have another relationship again, I hope that someone who I can trust will come into my life. Otherwise, I'd be better on my own than with the wrong woman.
@@ben_cena We're all trying to become better people.
"It's a little gay."
Jennifer coolidge vibes
Good grief--Ferris Bueller?
Don't worry, I'm not doing it for you
this is ridiculous (in a bad way)
No hard feelings on this end

Laird? As in Scottish lord?
Aye.
She's never heard of biking?
She works for Uber so she can’t bike people around
@@gingerisevil02she can't roller skate them around either.
I fail to see how this is romance
I rather want to see Dylan O'Brien and Jennifer Lawrence in the break up with comedy along with Jennifer Aniston fans.
OMG how she destroyed her face...
Really? This is the best plot they could come up with?
It's like a sitcom without the humor.
I thought so too before I watched it. Ended up being far better than imagined.
You have to avtually watch it lol.
Reminds me of that Sitcom pilot “Jerry” yaknow, when the Judge Sentences that Dude to be Jerry’s Butler for a year?
Hehe jen
I would like to see movie with a man who is treated as a thing in some transaction
😂
She could handle Harvey Weinstein, a teenager would be a piece of cake.
Holy... mother... of Wargames!
That's Matthew Broderick !!!
What happened?
It’s called aging.
You realize everyone is going to get wrinkles and get old and die someday yea?
But Tom Cruise tho...
I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t understand her appeal.
If they reversed the two genders for this film. A 32 year old man pursue a 19 year old girl they'd accuse him of being a creep. But because she's a lady she gets a pass.
Yes! Hollywood plumbing new depths everyday.
I take it you don't understand the premise? And whyever would a 19 year old girl have to get a date through her parents?
There’s always someone making this comment, but to be honest, I feel like generally it would be creepier if roles were switched.
@@alexfisher5672 You might not think so if you had a son. And this boy is very naive.
Facts. Double standards.
Do they need a segreot?? For a baby? Or what
So unrealistic! Who cares how old she is when she looks like Jennifer Lawrence?
