Before seeing this video, I actually got to realize how triangle jump worked, and just kinda got excited to see if I can experiment more with Ness I think a lot of things in this video is something one can realize by playing, and since I always go without any knowledge, is fun to see things I do are better documented that I would believe I just want to see more Ness players now...
Thanks for including psi-dash. It’s very underutilized and makes platform stages very good. Ideally you want to utilize tap jump instead of double tapping X to maximize distance and reduce physical effort.
I love this Video, I hope that Ness would be viable in Melee that would be great. Also a very good video, I enjoyed it. I gave the video a like, deserved. 👍
Great video! If you ever decide to update these, I recommend including a bit on Ness' DJC wavedash. I typically perform it with tap jump for the first jump, a button for the double jump, and angle down on the stick in time for the wavedash. This is basically a waveland in place of a wavedash, so you get the extra distance from the momentum (a smashboard thread from 2007 mentioned its a property of Ness' DJ being a falling animation, rather than jumping up?); with proper timing its a good option for quick movement. It's relatively difficult but not impossible to get consistent. Just a technique you might find valuable to explore in the future
Shoutouts to anyone still playing melee ness in 2020, much love
please kill me
@@tedbonnot8910 Average ness main
I'm trying man he's good I swear It🖖🏽😫
There are still people in 2024

Bro, the biggest mix-up in this entire video is the music, lol. I wasn't expecting it.
By accident I did a the super slide in an unranked. Seeing it explained helped me understand what happened. good video
I’ve been playing ness since I got my GameCube ahh those were the days of no struggle and stress.
Bruh, I wish melee ness was just a little better, I love his movement so much
10:12 pause it, bat reflector: reflector box and hit box overlap slightly away from ness's hands. looks like the sweet spot
What I didn't know the bat reflector was a thing in melee too ?!

ness is a cool character
the yoyo and jacket stuff are so big brain
thanks for making this! actually super uselful.

Such a good vid
Omg I love the mother 2 music
Would have liked to see a showcase of the different behavior of PK Thunder in 1.0
half of these are just repeats or ways in which ness doesnt work as a character lol. but im excited to learn yoyo glitch!
Thanks this helped

I just tested this and DJ waveland provides the same speed and distance as wavedash, just one frame slower.
@@EvilApple567 I'm late but thanks for testing and debunking it
20. Edge cancle PK FIRE
Whoops lol, nice catch
Still here
Ty for the video
Wait, why do I feel like this video was reuploaded?
I wish I knew what half this meant
“How to be cool with Ness” pretty much simplifies it up lol
i wish all of these videos had commentary
It’s my goal to provide proper commentary in the next releases
@@thirdchair9670 Yes please do, a ness commentary video would be great.
Isn't the yo-yo glitch banned?
nah, its one of his saving graces
first
Too bad Ness is useless even given these techs.
Until there’s a truly talented ness player we’ll never know
