seems cool for guitar players , im just a producer who has a guitar and some pedals , so i think ill stick with single form size pedals like the line 6 M5
Hello there everyone. I'm thinking about purchasing an amp modeler of some kind. No one seems to be addressing whether the HD500X or the AxeFX II Feels like playing a real amp. (Currently in 2014) The last time I tried any Line 6 gear it was the Vetta II Head. That head could sound Very close to the Bogner Uberschall, which is Awesome, but because of the few milliseconds of latency it didn't Feel like one. (PS The Line 6 was so good, even back then, that you only noticed the difference in feel when you quickly went back and forth between the real amp and the Line 6.) How is the latency on these units in 2014? How does that Feel? This issue is a Very close second to the tones you can achieve. Please help. (I may go try the HD500X myself today.) Also, does an iPad running a guitar sim (JamUp w/BIAS, etc.) compare at all? Is there more latency with an app on an iPad, or less? When using a bluetooth foot pedal to change patches on an iPad is the switching smoother or worse than the HD500X or AxeFX II? Any help is tremendously appreciated. Thank you all!
Hello, you say in the video that you use it a lot, ary you using it in a live application? If so, how does it hold up in a mix witb other guitarists? Also, how rugged is it, and is it easy to adjust the master volume on the fly if needed? Thank you... I ordered one yesterday and I'm curious if it will be able to take over for most of my pedals.
Thanks for the review but the sounds are synthetic and sound unreal in comparison to other units. The helix sounds much better. But the Fractal AX8 blows both away sonically. I own the HD500X but never use it these days,
What is the trading stereo on the fx send?. how would I set the fx loop up to have my delays. would I go from one delay pedal into the pod and then the return from that into my other delay pedal
Don't know if it's the way the sound was recorded in this vid but it's the worst I've heard this unit sound in any video I've watched so far. I'm a fan and will probably get one but I don't think this vid does it justice. Just my ears' opinion only :-)
please do a little more research before reviewing...can't blame him too much though it says for the hd500 you can chain up to 8 effects simultaniously you would figure that the hd500x would have more but it's not, still only 8,.. maybe more to choose from, haven't bothered looking all of them up words like "more power" and "i can't explain" don't really help in a review; i come to sonicstate for no nonsense reviews i thought for sure he was going to say no upgrade/buy if you don't have
They both can do 8 combinations, but on hd500 you can end up 8 not working if it is 8 high CPU power effects. On hd500x any 8 effects work together. Also 2 amps on separate channels work, which didn't work on hd500. So yea, there is more CPU power on x
Great overview of the 500X SonicState and as always it is a pleasure to hear Murph playing! Thank You!
Such playing, man, such playing. Fantastic.
Please don't judge it on this video i have one and it sounds really good!
Minus the overdrive. Im trying to find a good setting for it but haven't found it. Have you?
The Lost Villagers not yet, still gives me hell and drives me to get back up my tube heads... The real sound...
I have been wanting one of these. If this was the first video I saw of it, I would not want it.

Great review and that axe is a killer!

To be fair its pretty old, modelling has improved somewhat, but its still a good unit.

That's it. I'm going to make a sonicNik gear review training simulator.
That camera makes me dizzy..but good review anyway
What's the point in putting an amp modeler through a guitar amp? I use one of these through a PA and it's awsome. This sounds awful.
I agree, either thru PA or a dedicated power amp in to 4x12 cabs.
any good for BASS ?
