    • @GrammarHero

      If you divide across an inequality sign with a negative number, you have to change the direction of the sign. That's just how inequalities are.

    hey grammar hero for question 5 would u always get the reciprocal and add the 32?

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on which formula they give you. You may have noticed that in my practice tests, I usually change up the formulas I give you. I do this to ensure you can do the basic algebra that's required to solve these problems, regardless of which formula is given. In these two videos, I show you how to solve these problems using either of the formulas:

    54+9=63
    But if 54 have - and 9 have - that means you just add them but put - before.
    Its like you give 7 coins to your friend and now you have -7 coins, right?And if you give your friend 3 more coins its mean in total you give him 10 coins that means you have -10 coins

      Why would you think that this video contains topics that aren't on the ASVAB? There's probably a good reason as to why I'm the biggest ASVAB tutor on TH-cam, and there's probably an equally good reason as to why every other ASVAB tutor on TH-cam has blatantly ripped off content from my channel. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    If you multiply on either side of the equality sign does the sign flip? Or only if it’s on the opposite of the side it’s facing ?

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It only flips when you multiply or divide across the inequality sign by a negative number.

      There are multiple ways to solve some of these problems!

    • @OneStopShopGarage
      @OneStopShopGarage 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I worked the problem out the same way you did by adding the 23 to both sides, however by doing so the problem does not require the inequality sign to flip? Seeing there is no division of negative numbers occurring if solving this way? (4x + 30 > 7x) Correct me if I'm wrong with my calculations, it just seems as if there's multiple solutions dependent upon the order inwhich you choose to solve. (4x > -30 + 7x) leads to flipping of inequality sign, given the division of negative numbers. I only mention this because I ended getting this question wrong on the practice test on the website.

  • @alexismaclennan5376

    Okay, on question 1.. How is it 54+9???? It clearly says minus

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you watch closely, it says -54 - 9. I did 54 + 9, which is 63, and then tacked back on the negative sign to be -63.
      -54 - 9 = -63
      It is easier to work this out, however:
      54 + 9 = 63 and then add your negative back to be -63.
      You may need to watch some videos on adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers, since they aren't easy to do by hand if you haven't worked with them in a while.

    • @alexismaclennan5376
      @alexismaclennan5376 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GrammarHero So the rules for adding or subtracting negative numbers applies to every single math problem that has negative or positive numbers? I watched your video on how to add and subtract negative numbers but it definitely slipped my mind when solving this. Positive 54-9 isn’t the same as -54-9? Wow

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexismaclennan5376
      Correct:
      54 - 9 = 45
      -54 - 9 = -63
      This is very simple math, so I think you are probably overthinking it.

    Hey GH wanting to ask a question about me learning the vocab section if I am in a hurry to learn. When I choose a grade level on the vocabtest website how many units do you suggest me doing a day or how many units are enough for a grade level. thanks for the amazing videos super helpful and has helped my raise my AFQT practice score.

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, there is no quick way to build up your vocabulary. There are 2,400 words on that website, and if you learned 40 words a day, it would take you 60 days (i.e., two months) to learn all of them.
      If anyone tells you there's a quicker way to boost your word knowledge, chances are they aren't being honest with you.
      If you learn those words any quicker than a period of two months, you really run the risk of mixing them all up on test day.
      Vocabulary is built over a period of months and years, not days and hours.
