So much easier than how old vehicles were when having to take the entire dash apart 😂 thanks for the great video! I can't wait to get these speakers installed!!
Uh man..... I put in 3 way 300w jbl 6x9s and believe it or not, they are absolutely terrible. The factory 6x9s had better bass. I also was getting a little feedback for some reason..... super wierd. Maybe I need two ways?
@@juggernaut5281My experience with the infinity reference was good, im still running the same setup more then a year later and no issues at all. Maybe the factory ANC and Amp didnt like the Ohms from the JBL's
@WeekndGarage I'm honestly thinking of calling the dealer for new factory 6x9s because my passenger side door subs blown. Thanks for the help and God bless.
Very good, I just bought Kicker drop in tweeters, front and rear speakers for my 2010 Ram. I can now justify my Sirius XM annual subscription. Just the tweeter drop in made a huge upgrade! enjoy
I had the alpine system 2019 ram 1500 it was loud but not like I wanted so I upgraded to kickers speakers all around 4 6x9s 2 6 inch 2 tweeters with a kicker 4 channel amp all i did was cut the 4 top wires on the ANC connector so I can cancel the engine noise since mine came with a factory amp
I'm fixing to do my SLT. Going with the new higher end pioneer this time and 4 mb quart tweeter's. Then 2 10 inch kicker 10s under the backseat. Clarion EQ and a different 6 channel alpine stereo. I just need to buy the box i have the 2 amps. Should sound good for the airspace. I had the infinity in my GMC Sierra sounded great just going with something different after hearing great things about the higher end pioneer. I will update on sound. Great video and clean install, sounds good and amps will really wake it up.
Very well done! I do have a couple questions tho: 1) I saw that you applied sound proofing to the outer door skin but I couldnt tell if you applied any to the door behind the door panel (same side as the speaker face). 2) you replaced the 8 ohm dash speakers with 4 ohm units. Did this change the dynamics or sound proportioning? Did the dash speakers become too overpowering?
i have installed sound deadening and insulation directly on the metal behind the black door skin, sound deadening on the black plastic itself where the modules and speakers mount and i've also installed sound deadening and insulation on the door card itself. Doors feel like a tank and close like a G wagon now, no more tin feeling when knocking on the doors or closing doors.
@WeekndGarage good to know, thanks. And what about the odd configuration that the factory dash speakers are 8 ohms? Any issues with dropping aftermarket 4ohm speakers in?
@@spymat72 No issues at all a year later with the speakers installed in my video, still sounding great. i have the 6 speaker system, might be different outcome on the alpine 9 speaker
havent read all the comments but on a 9 speaker Alpine system the front doors are only recieving low frequency signal (bass) so installing a 3 way speaker is a completed waste. Im assuming the factory amp is responsible for this.
Just an FYI my fourth generation Ram 1500 has a metal bar directly behind the front door speakers that is a mere three inches from the front so your depth needs to be very carefully selected on any new speakers.
Great video. Helped me a lot putting speakers in my Ram which is similar to yours. Question: How do you have your stock equalizer set? Bass, midrange, treble? Thanks
i've got +4 bass + 1 mid + 3treb, depends on what you listen to and what your preferences are. Sometimes i like flat and sometimes a dynamic curve. Subwoofer installation coming soon :)
Question… So I see in the video you went back with a full range speaker for the front dash. Why did you not go back with a dedicated tweeter? In theory wouldn’t a dedicated tweeter hit the highs better than a full range speaker?
I did the same thing on my alpine system on my 300 and it was the same. Mopar(Alpine) makes the front door speakers output just low frequencys. The only way to get around this is to add an amplifier, amp pro and dsp to tune to your liking. But it’s a little more to that.
I didn't catch it either. I reached out to Crutchfield and they told me their 2-way and 3-way 6x9's are interchangeable part#9633ix and #9632ix. I'm pretty sure those dash speakers 3032cfx have a 4 ohm load and I think they should be lower than that so it doesn't muck with the ANC. Just my 2 cents 🤷♂
It does sound clearer..but that would be expected when using 2 woofers, 4 tweeters and 4 mids instead of 2 woofers and two tweeters (front end)..but loss of low end.. Curious, why not just replace the speaker screws?
I have a 2022’ ram base 6 speaker sound system. I installed some SkarTX69 coaxial in the 4 doors, and TX35s in the dash. They sound better than stock, but not quite the jump I was expecting. Is this because they are coaxial? Because the dash speakers are 4ohm instead of factory 8 ohm? I’m just curious why it wasn’t really a night and day like I was expecting myself. And I’ve had pretty good luck with Skar, I’ve used them in 3+ cars always sounding great.
Surprised to see in this video that the Ram 1500 comes with plastic cones and not fabric like 99% of OEM sound systems. The factory setup lacks definition in the upper frequencies but has plenty of bass response without an amplifier. 2-ways are sufficient, components would be better but then again you'd need an amp. Nice simple installation.
My rebel came with the Alpine system upgrade. What are your thoughts on these stock speakers? If I add and Amp to give me a little more kick, do I need to upgrade the speakers? Not looking to get competition level sound, just give me the ability to blast some Metallica at times.
Mine was the 6 speaker system, not sure how the 9 speaker alpine would react to speaker swap only. i believe an external amp and speaker upgrade would definitely sound the best
@@WeekndGarage I've since upgraded the speaker. Sound is much cleaner, and louder but the bass is not as prevalent. I'm going install an AMP just for the sub.
What impedance are these? If you keep stock amp they should be 2 ohm right? If you swap deck or add an amp they should be 4 ohm? Hard to find 2 ohm speakers to keep factory amp/deck and get the most out of them it seems
I just installed these on my 2023 ram trx. Sounds alittle better but not what i expected. Are you getting tweeter sound from your door speakers or just bass? Mine are really dull. All the highs are coming from the dash
