I remember the developers saying that Lucanis is a very complex character so I expect that he will be one of the most intriguing romances in the game. That is why I was so drawn to him the moment I saw his character, and when he spoke that just sealed the deal that he would be my first romance. Also, I just have to know where he got the purple wings from. I believe it to be either possession or something inflicted upon him by some mage he went after as a contract. He is just the most interesting character to me at this point and I cannot wait to play the game to learn all about him.
So cool! Honestly, it will be amazing if Lucanis gives us a questline where we will have to struggle with choices. I hope he will join the Veilguard and bring all his problems with him haha

Raised by a domineering and cruel elderly maternal figure who emphasized survival above all else, which caused trauma in his youth but he later came to accept as necessary? Seriously, if we don’t get to buy him a golden mirror or something and watch him break down in tears about how it’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for him in his entire life, I will be disappointed.

And it turns out I'm like a teenager in love with a rock star... before the game even came out! :D 10 years of waiting for answers and it turns out I'm playing for the romance :D I hope it'll be the most interesting, most non-obvious romance possible. And Lucanis will be a very complex character ;)

For me, a love of coffee is determined by how you take it. Add too much cream & sugar & one could question whether or not you favor flavored milk as opposed to the bitter roasted bean. Regardless, Lucanis strikes me as far more dangerous than any Qunari I've seen so far. Which bodes well for Antiva's continued independance, I guess.
SPOILERS!!! . . . . . . . . . . . In the IGN hands-on playthrough, there is a dialogue between Rook and Lucanis where Rook tells Lucanis that he's brave. One of the other answers mention "Spite" with a capital S, so I'm thinking the Demon nickname and the wings and all that stuff might be the result of him being posessed by a Spite demon, instead of Pride? Which might make for a satisfying character arc, where he has a conflict between his own morals and a literal demon of hate that lives inside him

Very suspicious coincidence, considering it all but confirmed he is abomination and possessed by representation of Spite. Could he be secret agent of Fen'Harell? Or maybe his spirit? I think it possible. But also feel like it may be red herring, because he is so obviously in your face dodgy and to perfect for the role of our next betrayer, something else must be going on.

I HOPE he's very complex and honestly I'm hoping he's not a pookie bear uwu sexy hurt italliano but even after finding his own and being your friend/love interest he retains a somewhat colder? personality...or remains a bit of a dumpster fire. What I don't like in bg3 is how the edgy characters all turn uwu on you at some point. Vs morrigan who told my warden sorry fam ;) I have my own life despite everything you did and I am still goth btw. This goes for all the companions really.

To my eyes, looking at the character design, this is a 100% a character that was made to have a lot of "bad boy" sex appeal, coupled with the tragic backstory elements / the sort of troubled personality that will generate a caring response. Overall likely aimed primarily at the female audience of DA. As for me, I am hoping that the magical wings and the magical sensing are grounded in the setting and not just "rule of cool'ed" into existence.

I believe they said that none of the faction backgrounds will make it so that you know the companion from that faction, but they will know of you (and maybe you'll know of them).

I feel like that could be the case for him questioning his entire life as Crow. I do hope for more in depth of the Antivan Crows and more nuance - Origins never did it really, considered they introduced them as villain and if you cared about Zevran neither he nor Master Ignacio painted the Crows in any good light. I trust BioWare when they say Lucanis is complex character. My problem is with their describe earlier this year when they called him socially awkward. I .. never expected ANY assassin, especially after Zevran being primary example of Crow, as 'socially awkward'. My ptsd with social awkwardness as personality trait from Sims 4 (which is like one of worst traits you can ever imagine sim having there) makes me incredibly .. cautious over whether or not Lucanis - considered BioWare said that he laughs when he shouldn't and has no social cues for that matter - will be a vibe-killer. That being said, I expect detailed well made character with maybe problematic personality traits. As for intruiging ? Well .. not for me for sure. That is thing I reserve only for Davrin and whether or not BioWare after all these years plans to continue subplot from Inquisition with him. Now THAT could be a novelty for me, as we never witnessed (in games at least, no idea about comics) Wardens succombing like that. Also doesn't help that Davrin, based on podcast, is crazy hahah. You can be cool and suave all you want, but when one of your company is known for crazy heroics, now THAT is going to steal the show for me. I just wish that BioWare made Lucanis look different, as his looks resemble Mr. Boredom Blackwall, but I guess that was decided by whoever draw comics ...

(we've had abomination-like companion each game: Wynne, Anders, Cole) This would be first time having some intense difficult Warden with tendency for heroics, which can be curse or a blessing in disguise. Also Davrin's VA, I waited around 12 years thus far to have any singleplayer RPG with romantic option voiced by this one voice actor. And as for Emmerich .. very few works make non-evil Necromancers, it's rarity to have decent written necromancer.

Why not a video on how they are denying us consent to who can join the party, unless of course there is an alternative way to drop platforms, activate elven machines, etc. They claim the companions are their own people, but it feels a bit like we're not if we can't even have a third companion or control who we associate with in the game.

**Lucanis spoilers*** . . . Lucanis' demon is Spite. New IGN video shows male qunari Rook talking with him after his own mission that revealed this. the right side middle question was asking what triggers Spite? In one of the books, Lucanis actually died. so on their last dying breath wanted to seek vengeance on those that killed him, is what called forth that kind of demon. Similar to Wynne from DAO who died during Circle Mage raid, she wanted to protect everyone in there dying moments, that intense emotion attracted a healing spirit rezzing her on borrowed time. Lucanis, same but with negative emotion, revenge attracted Spite. Now will it be a Cole situation, can we convince Lucanis to ignore demon spirit? While bad ending, telling him to keep using demon more which later on consumes him going full abomination and we have to kill him.
