Hi, I've had one for a few years now. I've done a few simple things to it. Bedded the recoil lug, filled in front of the recoil lug with some stainless rod and epoxy to stiffen the stock a bit, removed the small bit of rubber in the forend to free float the barrel, added a limsaver recoil pad and lightened the trigger. Consistent sub moa, awesome light no creep trigger. I absolutely love it.
Make sure when u buy factory ammo get the same lot number usually inside the flap on the box. I always do,they will shoot pretty much the same then a different lot number loaded a little different nothing is exact.we try r best.🎯 Love Steyr own 3 and pistols. Good as any Glock.
I'm lucky to get any factory ammo with the same lot number here. There is rarely much ammo on the shelves and buying online is virtually impossible. 270 is making a comeback but it really is not a very popular caliber here in Australia.
@@gobangs1117 iam sorry to hear that. 270 is a very popular caliber n America I own one myself Savage 110 early 90’s I bought a few yrs back n a pawnshop for 280 bucks out the door and it didn’t have a scratch on it and it shoots lights out.🎯130gr power points Winchester silver box. Cheap stuff. Cover three shots with a nickel at a hundred yards.
Hi mate. Thanks for your honest accuracy test. I do want one now Just a thought, I understand that all styer rifles have a set trigger. Cock it then push the trigger forward to set it. Not 100% sure though. That fire water was starting to kick in I think. 😊
Set triggers are for precision shooting and unnecessary or even hazardous on hunting rifles. Steyr does offer set triggers on some models but not the Pro Hunter and the two stage trigger on this rifle is very good. Only beer after a hard day shootin' mate.
There are two revisions of the Steyr Pro Hunter. One has a threaded barrel and the set trigger, and one doesn't have either. I personally don't have either on my .308. The Pro Hunter range has been discontinued as well. I believe it was to manufacture more rifles for the military. I don't know if they will come back into production.

My gun is free floated with no rubber bit at the forend. Sweet rifle! Thanks for commenting.

Why are they so cheap? Styer is expensive usually. Makes me wonder why
What's the twist rate on it mate. Been reading that there 1in 8.6 ?

Steyr makes their 270 barrels with 8.6 twist rate.
