COLD STEEL WARCRAFT SAN MAI III SERIES

  • The Warcraft Tanto series represents some of our latest design concepts for modern military tactical tanto design. Noticeably thicker than many of the knives on the market today, with tough reinforced tips, elegantly curved cutting edges and sturdy one-piece construction, they will soak up punishment while delivering unprecedented performance in the field. Each of our Warcraft Tantos is made with a flat ground primary cutting edge and a chisel ground secondary blade bevel, both hand honed to hair popping sharpness. The intersection of these two blade bevels (known as the Yakote) forms a wickedly effective secondary point that allows for a devastating snap cut. The thick, full tang, is encased with two handle scales, making our Warcraft series comfortable and secure in hand, and equally at home as a reliable workhorse or life-saving combat knife.
    The Warcraft Series is available in three sizes. San Mai® versions feature G-10 handles. These are quite possibly the highest quality premium tactical fixed blades in the world today. All come complete with a Secure-Ex® Sheath.
    Steel: San Mai III
    Handle Material: G10
    Additional Features
    Secure-Ex™ Sheath

      What steel is it now?

    • @F15ElectricEagle
      @F15ElectricEagle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The San Mai steel Cold Steel uses in some of its knives is not a high-end super performance steel regardless of the marketing hype Lynn and his (former) company have claimed. The core steel in CS's San Mai steel is VG-1. It is basically the poor man's high-end VG-10 steel: both made by Takefu of Japan. VG-1 steel's grain structure is more coarse than VG-10 and the edged of VG-1 blades chips much easier. The side steel of San Mai steel is 420 stainless. This is the same steel used in most forks, spoons and buttering knives and super low-end kitchen knives. Sorry, but garbage in is still garbage out.

    Great video! Cold Steel has been my favorite knife company for years, including "unique" knives like the Immortal and Colossus 2.
    I enjoy Lynn's continued appearances in the videos, and grateful for T'Rip, too! One of my teenage daughters has carried daily for years, but T'Rip helped her finally realize being a knife lover isn't something she needs to be embarrassed about and it doesn't make her less "feminine."

    I didn't quite realize how massive the 5.5" tanto voyager was when I bought it online, but I love it, and have thoroughly enjoyed it for mild bushcraft and general use in construction and demolition. Co-workers always seem to need to borrow a knife, and it pretty funny to see their reactions when you toss them the pocket machete! I've gotten so used to the heft of it that the Recon 1 sits at home. Been eyeing up the warcaft series for a while now, maybe I'll have to give them a go.

    Hey guys, I'm 37, I'm a 20+ yr consumer of Cold Steel. I'm wondering if there was ever a conclusion to what went wrong with the run of Gladius Machetes to that came out this Spring. I'm sure y'all know at this point so I won't bring up specifics here out of respect. I bought two from two separate retailers with the same result. As I began seeking out every retailer with a review in the time period of this run and found they all came like the two I bought. I returned mine as I'm on a.budget after losing my career of 10 yrs due to my inability to comply to medical demands bc of rule changes, I pivoted from building large power transformers to farming my parents property retired teacher mother, father medically retired church planter both elderly. I'm still planting or food for the fall and winter and was stoked to have that Gladius on my hip or back in the fields and gardens to deal with the 1000 paces I put a machete through farming, cutting wood etc. I understand things happen, just don't know if there will be another run out what. First full tang neck knife I bought and still have is the cold steel para-edge, wicked sharp. Was testing the handle grip and cut my left index finger. Barely felt it but it was deep and had to have then.

    Great looking knife seiries. If dine correctly, and I haven't seen any Cold Steel products not done correctly, San Mai is a tremendously strong and worthwhile steel.
    Nicely done and good luck with the new folder.

    I’m currently using my GI Tanto and Tactical Wakizashi Machete to carve myself a bokken like Musashi.

    I had a boot knife from cold steel for about 20 years. I gave it an Army Ranger friend before his last deployment. I love Cold Steel toughness and dependability.
