    Awesome fix again!!! the way all those jumperwires are soldered and the patience you have while doing this is just impressive. yes you did it many times before but still it takes a lot of practice to do it as good as this.

    Unreal that some technicians will try and get away with a job like that! Well done for sorting it properly.

    The job is not too hard, but training really helps. I remember the 1st PS4 port. I ripped a trace myself. Then I tried my first trace repair without a microscope. Took ages.
    I took my iphone with biggest zoom in the camera to check (on the port). Then reworked, then checked again.
    PS4 fully ok.
    Spent the money on a good microscope with stand (Setup like Northridge Fix), expensive,
    Have done several trace repair since then, without having them being pulled by myself. Becomes much more easy very quickly...

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's all about practice, great job doing it without a microscope. I don't think many people can say they're able to do that

    • @marcianzero_yt
      @marcianzero_yt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks.
      I forgot to mention: I am doing this for recreation. No butchering of customer stuff (like the previous guy for the PS4 in your video). I work in a completely different job. I mostly worked on Amiga stuff for myself, which is mostly larger by magnitudes. Some Playstations or Xboxes (like 15 HDMI traces torn and 2 HDMI ics broken) iPhones and Macs. SD card mod for PS2 slim. Xbox 128 MB upgrade. Just for fun. I hardly ever use any of those things. It’s more to know if I can do what others do it. ;) It also teaches patience and preserverance. But being a hobby it never has a deadline, which really sets it off from other things. Biggest issue is the stuff stacking up in my house. Someday I might need to relocate my workshop into the garden shed as well. ;)

    Why do you call it re-balling? I thought that was a term used for resoldering or replacing cracked solder balls under processor chips. Great job either way.

      If you can wait a couple of weeks I'd say go with Banggood. They're by far the cheapest place. If you want it quickly amazon is your best bet but they're £220 as opposed to around £150 on banggood

    Ugh!
    Reballing I hate.
    Whoever did that HDMI before you does not believe in magnifying!
    Do you find a lot of consoles need trace repairs because people have fiddled.
    I used to get RGH/Jtag diasters sent to me to redo, usually error OO22 (Southbridge pad lifted on R7R17) people LITERALLY levering off components!I
    But I did a few reballs, not my best skill.
    I'm sure you find them easy.

    • @TheCod3r
