Most of the population is recessed because of how horrible our lifestyles have become due to us becoming more advanced. If you look at pictures of our ancestors, you will see that none of them had malocclusion (this is a very recent phenomenon). They all had wide palates and dental arches, perfect bite, wide properly developed jaws (maxilla and mandible). Now because of incorrect tongue posture, bad body, neck, head posture, sedentary lifestyle, and a soft diet that does not work our jaws, has caused majority of the people to have recessed faces. Before you say but what about genetics, genetics do play a big role in how your face looks, but nobody is supposed to have a recessed face. That’s not the genetics fault but how bad most people lifestyle has become do to us becoming more advanced.
