love to see a puft ranch, you dont see them often anymore, also a pacu farm is always lovely maybe have it above the grat hall with a glass floor to have an aquarium would be cool
I discovered why it's telling you the two Cobalt Volcanos are there, the nature hole at the top of each. If you hover your cursor over the bottom left of the holes it shows the volcano peeking out. 😀
Get your plug slugs in a ranch, and just starve them. The food is significant, and they give enough electricity if you put wire up to keep the dupes off the hamster wheel. And they're currently eating all your metal ore :)
I'll note another way that you could potentially get some additional perpetual water: Rotten food/Rot Pile -> Polluted oxygen -> Puff -> Slime -> Algae Distiller -> Polluted water. Of course you would need a massive amount of perpetual extra calories to make much impact, (probably through starvation ranching) You could also purpose a bunch of your slime towards getting the algae/polluted water if you no longer need it for mushrooms. Note, it may also be a good idea to use the heat from a volcano, or the magma biome to create some additional sand for you, by dropping some slime/algae/dirt into it.
You may need to keep an eye on those plug slugs eating up all of your ore! I still think Gulp fish to clean the polluted water, regular Pacu will also give you polluted dirt from algae to sublimate into O2, It's a pity nothing eats refined metal or you'd be made in the shade
Dammn this map is super small And yeah i know your pain, I'm currently using a single natural gas geyser to power up my ENTIRE base. I was surprised with the amount of backlog natural gas the thing was emitting so i had it run 3 natural gas generators for 3 separate circuits Hopefully when it goes idle my base doesn't collapse:')
@Echo Molten Slickster ranch with a built in carbon dioxide vent, run the polluted water from the natural gas geyser through the room to bring the temp down. meter it so it doesn't break pipes. This would give u dirt, clean water, petro(water/power,plastic), and meat...since i cant imagine slicksters tasting bad or anything.
well the second asteroid might have water, atleast enough to feed the daring molten world your going to create there. plus it would open yourself up to more food sources. im not 100% sure on what the second asteroid would be and what it has but it seems like a decent idea. i aslo feel even with the new dlc everyone waits way to long to go to that second asteroid even with regular asteroid settings. i think your meant to go to the second one early imo. so many more easy resources to jump start space!
Very similar to my experience on this start except I was doing super sustainable and running on wheels for forever. It wasn't till I got to the other asteroid and got a lot of solar that I really could push forward with larger projects.
i think you can dig abyssalite to solid obsydian or ingius rock idk (it is the thing in magma biome on the left it is around small magma pocket) and use the derbies heat to melt ice (on digging you lose half of the resources melting ice is crucial especially when you have no water)
Lavatory pH2O should go to some reeds first. With all that metal, Atmo Suits will be a breeze to start up, just need a steady supply to grow the fibres. Any excess past the fibres though, I agree. Also, there should be a lot of regular mud on this planetoid, which turns to dirt and H2O. Some simple automation and a pitcher pump, set the sludge press to "forever" on mud, and a hydro sensor w/pitcher in a one tile high pool (the sensor is mostly a safe-guard, as the liquid vent can be covered by a gas and overflow the pool)
Core the first asteroid out and start looking at the second asteroid. hopefully it will have the water and oil necessary to build the steam turbines that you need to tame those metal volcanos like you want/need.
Small question because i noticed you rather break some things rather than just set a geyeser/volcano/vent to !! Priority to see whar it is, and why is that? Would you just rather stay as "glitchless" or "exploitless" as possible? Or is it just force of habit type thing?
@@EchoRidgeGaming That's the point, feed the slugs with ores, get the meat plus running hydrogen generators, and use refined metals from volcanoes for something else. It saves you the trouble of manually crushing ores or refining.
Keep in mind though, the dupes will consume more than the usual 100g/s when they have the icky lungs (believe it's 15%, in which case will be more than 660g/s for 6 dupes) EDIT: booted up the game to check, and Yucky Lungs is a +30g/s debuff, which (depending on difficulty and dupe traits) is more than 15% on Normal settings. Meaning, 6 regular dupes (no Diver's Lung, etc.) would require 780g/s of pO2.
@@EchoRidgeGaming What I am doing on my multi colony playthrough is sending a CO2 rocket with metal and a penguin cone over with a payload module that contains metal and glass, Enough metal to build a rocket platform and enough glass for one or two solar panels. followed by a rovers module to unpack and prep a colony, followed by another rocket containing a trailblazer module. Typically the dupe in the trailblazer module has digging and astronomy so they can finish the colony and explore the surrounding space. Printing pod brings in the rest of the crew to the new planet :) (Just in case you are looking for ideas). My current playthrough doesn't have atmo suits, so I am just using gas masks, which works fine for this operation. Also it is easier to stick into an penguin rocket
@@phatbman as long as the dupes aren't going to scalding areas, the masks are very handy. Especially since they only have initial crafting costs, and repairing only takes the worn mask. Really do love those for early game
I feel like you could do tutorials for like quick 5-10 min for like your infinite pacu farm with a list of what you need and researched or a dragko farm when I was looking for tutorials I couldn't find any surprisingly I just recently started playing it because it looked very fun game but it's incredibly hard and the challenge is very fun
You can get plenty of sand from stone like this though. I think you have enough stone that sand shouldn't be an issue to get deodorisers up if you can get the crusher up.
Why is youtube forcing me to use 4K? I tried reducing it but it reloads the page and resets to 4k. This is not something that needs 4k, I would understand if it tried to force 4k on something like ChooChooCharles or EldenRing but not for this game...
Absolutely useless comment to feed the algorithm, lol. I don't have the DLC so I don't feel I can offer much input atm. Hope you're having a good week! Best of wishes!

Comment of the day. ha.

You don't see them a lot because they are a pain and take a bunch of automation. I believe we will do one in this playthrough though.
a Puff ranch sounds more like a weed thing :p
It would be worth it to do a quick teleport to the 2nd planet and get some mealwood seeds from there. Swamps have a LOT of dirt
This is a great idea if for no other reason than to have a source of long-lasting calories for rocketry.
cant wait to see what kind of creative water solutions you'll be able to get

Another way would be polluted dirt:
Polluted dirt + Sage Hatch > Coal + Slickster > Oil/Petroleum + Petroleum Generator > Polluted Water
Or use the Polluted dirt + Pokeshell = Sand?
That purple polyester suit makes me look gooooood! :)
Put the slugs in an area away from the rest of the base, then run a wire through.. free power and when the slugs give up.. meat.
I second this!
This is the highlight of my week every week
And your comment was a highlight of mine. :)
It's a call for a fully golden tiled base, maybe with golden heavy conductive whire you can get a pretty good decore all around your planetoid
Awesome idea. This is going to happen.
I don't even have to give the video a full watch before I click like. Much appreciated!

I move all the ore and lock it in a room, ha. Gonna have to do until we get a rancher to move them.

Thank you for the comment!
Best debate for purple polyester suit ...specially the lore by it
10:51 that happens when a geyser generates partially exposed. i encounter that quite a bit playing the minibase mod
you cant tame the metal vulcanos yet BUT you can dig room, vaccum it and dig a pool for molten metal, then in the future you can harvest it

Another great episode! Should you have a population cap for each asteroid? Maybe only 5 or six dupes max for each one.
Buddy buds and thimble reed in neutronium? Meet the bog bucket in gravitas tiles.
Definitely in favor of using the volcanoes to clean the p-water to avoid using sand. Same with the eventual bathroom water.

My guess (I have not checked the map) you will have water and oil in the teleporter. And that could be golden!
Water yes, oil no. Sadly. :)

Aaaaactually, you CAN eat gold. you cannot digest it, but it is edible.
Haha, I suppose a lot of things fall into that category :)
@@EchoRidgeGaming Yes. as long as it's not actively harmful to ingest and can be... well, excreted again without issue. It's quite edible.
Seeing as you've got all that refined metal, you can run your plug slug farm no?
They only eat ore... which we will still need and would run out of.

It was only made up for a second, and then it was instituted into the lexicon and is now a real word. ;)

You can feed the slugs the gold amalgam since you have infinite refined gold
