    If you cover your one storage tile with water, then the materials like bleach stone can't off-gas. Then you only have to exclude ice.

    If you make the storage two down rather than one, the dupes never get into the bad decor area. You can also put a ladder on the top of the two, so the dupes can run over quickly.
    If you drop a little water or something in, then there isn't any offgassing either.

    4:30 when powered the Dispenser Holds the content inside like a storage bin; notice the Max Kg at 3:45... It is supposed to eject the content if you give it a automation signal . it's never really been used that way and no one I know really found a way to use that mechanic.

    Every game Nilaus plays becomes Factorio; you can't just not to build up the whole map with city blocks😁Despite the fact that 90% of ONI players even don't replace all the dirt floors at the base with tiles (I do, can't stand dirt floors)😅

    • @deatho0ne587
      @deatho0ne587 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is that in ONI i do not swap the floors till after I have so many other sustainable things.
      Most rooms I will leave at 16x4 though unless doing some odd thing.

    • @MrDerReiter
      @MrDerReiter 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@deatho0ne587 I usually snap to 16х4 at the start, and build like that within starting biome around the Printing Pod. Beyond the starting biome I may (and do it, as a rule) improvise and build floors and rooms different sizes. But the core of the base (bedrooms, bathrooms, halls, a kitchen, a science room e.t.c) I always prefer to snap to standart size and ladderwells.

    • @deatho0ne587

      25% run speed bonus makes a huge difference over a few cycles, even if it takes a slow team several cycles to make tiles. 50% run speed from metal tile can't be beat.

    Love your videos, been watching too long without comment. Suggestion: get rid of the refrigerators in the kitchen and put them near the dining room. Take advantage of carbon dioxide or vacuum storage for perishables and ship off all the finished food for consumption right away. Also, why not just drop the coal on the ground in the generator room? If no dupes enter, there’s no decor issues and the conveyor will never get backed up

    • @thefactorymustgrowlarger3947
      @thefactorymustgrowlarger3947 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      for the coal: if he drops it on the ground it is difficult to bring it elsewhere, having the coal line backed up is not a problem.

    • @Mark-xt8jp
      @Mark-xt8jp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      (I still play the original game so maybe Spaced Out differs?) I thought they added spoilage for both atmosphere and temp, so a luke warm CO2 space will spoil faster than if it's chilled. I made a single vacuum tile with a chute, with a metal tile underneath. Then I ran a very cold pipe through the metal tile, getting the tile below zero. This has a drop of oil in the adjacent tile, and is at head height into the mess hall. The food comes in hot and is quickly cooled to freezing, and in the vacuum it is "super preserved". Dupes can then grab it to eat, and since it's in the back if they drop food on the floor the next dupe will eat that first.

  • @martinolsson858
    @martinolsson858 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    At the end part, would it not be more efficent to build the sweepers on the lowest line, then replace any above lines with ladders so all materials fall down? Then you can replace them with normal tiles again, saving you from having to build and rebuild those sweepers.

    Two issues I see with this concept:
    First, temperature. Placing so much stuff in the middle of the base will influence its temperature at some point. Imagine putting some hot plastic or metal there...
    Second, does this still work in endgame? I remember older version where this was causing extreme lag at some point. Does it work better now regarding lag?

    • @Mark-xt8jp
      @Mark-xt8jp ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For lag I think having it all in a single tile helps. For temp control, you can have your cooling loop pass by this, and when you have say 500k tons of material and 100kg of hot shows up it will not be able to move the temp of all that mass much.

    Put about 500 kg or so of water where your INF solid storage is and then you do not have to worry about the off-gassing things.
    Liquidfiables sadly have to be somewhere else, generally set up a few storage bins with 2k of the current liquad type. Snow/Ice in water, Pulloted Ice in P Water, and Frozen Salt/Brine in one of liquids (since they both can be used for the same stuff).

    How do you do with hot items from bottom of the map(near magma), what is the best Way to Cool it Down so it won’t destroy your base? I can’t figure it out with my railing and temperatures loop...

    • @TheSimpleGamer42
      @TheSimpleGamer42 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have the rails go through a metal tile area that is cooled by a cooling loop to a set temp. Doesn't have to be big. You should be able to cool 80+ degree material within 4-5 tiles down to 5 or less. Can't do this with plastic, but everything else cools very fast.

    • @laszlobandi6456

      could of had 4 more by shifting top and bottom ones, 12 also ok for 2 wall 4 high 2 sides, 4-4 straight out 2-2 trough floors.
      you can also have 2 high room for storage, destroying middle makes it 5 high. that's 14. more than that you drop somewhere else and distribute from there. if you make toilets at the start, anywere further on sides, you can then ladder up near pod, up to max, biome/temp border, like 20-30 tiles, then strip mine top to bottom, remove floor near the printer, dig 2 more under, remove and remake under pod too. you end up with debris all on a 2 high floor. make another under it for mealwood or more storage. then expand top to bottom. debris is ugly and takes time to clear. kind of ideal for this setup.
      5 high rooms are good top and bottom of printing pod, can combine 2+2 and floor, with gaps counts as the same room but different level/entry. above 4 beds, flooring 3 beds, then a 2 high corridor, above it a well spot with 2x2+1 side for future water vent. right side mess hall also 5 high, then middle floor. 3rd level has the well sticking downwards. you use water and a dirt storage and saves on delivery. if it's symmetrical sideways it's fine. will be a bit lopsided. 9 tile for 4+3 beds, 11 for 9 etc. other levels can be 4 high. might want the ranch setups early, can use the space for other things meanwhile. and that indicates where your ladder shafts are. would advise 5 wide, just add a tile after doors, gap, ladder, gap, tile, door. later you reorganize based on tech , swap tiles to let air trough, add décor first, later like poles or tubes.

      I'm guessing you could also make one exporter send a dozen items to a new location, and then split that dozen from there.

  • @ahmataevo
    @ahmataevo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The single tile storage pit should be 2 tiles deep, because the decor penalty of ground debris is 1 tile, they'll take a massive decore penalty when there's a lot of stuff in there. Over -2000 decor can cancel out all the good decor everywhere else in the base.
    EDIT - I see you're doing central resource distribution as well. In that case, it would still be better to msotly lock dupes out of the room for single tile storage and drop stuff from far above and only allow dupes to reach it across a 2 tile distance from one direction. You probably won't want to rebuild it that way though.
