Hello. This may be a hot take but I personally have found solo levelling's story to be lacklustre. I was really excited to read a story where the main character started as the weakest and you see their journey to become stronger- i even bought the manwa to read- but I feel that jinwoo's character arc after he is given power over the system to be too smooth as he has the overpowered hero trope but without something to make him interesting from a narrative point of view other than the vague and undemonstrated idea that he was slowly losing his humanity. Saitama and hibino kafka for example are interesting overpowered characters because they struggle with moral dilemmas, saitama struggling with the monotony of being too strong and the emptiness of achieving ones goals while kafka needs to be stronger as a human and not just as a kaiju, but sung only goes from strength to strength without any real struggle, especially after he gets his arise powers. It was after his fight with igris then the dark elves that i started to notice the fact that sung when confronted with a stronger enemy would either just stab them in the eye or just punched them real hard which personally feels very narratively unsatisfying because its just kind of boring and repetitive. Although a manwa having clever ways of resolving the contflict isnt always necessary, the fact that the premise of the story is sung working hard and strategically to level up means that you would at least expect there to be more emphasis on clever strategy or at least emphasis on how his drive to win in an arguably dishonorable way makes him morally questionnable. But the story makes no effort to cast this moral dilemma on sung as everyone he meets is just impressed by him or fancies him which is very main isekai character typical, which i honestly expected more from. I think it wouldve gone done easier for me if sung has any demonstrable character traits of interest, but i personally cant find any except for wants to protect family in a generic way and is edgy now. I actually preferred him as his old happy go lucky struggling self but who he is now is super generic and if its to show that killing and doing what he does killed his innocence I am unsatisfied with how it is presented. Anyway thats a long post but ive been holding this in for a while now 😅 I of course dont have anything against people who do enjoy solo levelling and I do really think the artwork of the manwa is fantastic and the arise powers is extremely interesting- but the plot and character of jung just doesnt captivate me. Ruler's authority is actually a bit more complicated, it's in fact the ability to control the flow of energy and mana, telekinesis is only its base skill at low level. At higher level it allows the user to reshape mana into any object or phenomenon like magic that they want as long as they can visualize it .
Imma need the source for that 31 S rank hunters. Since Japan had like 12 in one guild and South Korea has 7 so that’s 19, there’s no way the rest of the world combined has only 12 more S rank hunters. Edit: never mind you said that we know of, that means named S rank hunters only. That makes more sense.
In fact, I just did a quick maths check, Korea has a population of 50Mil, they've produced roughly 10 S rank hunters we know about. (Which means Japan should have about 25 with a population of 125mil). If the world population at the time of writing was a conservative 7.5 Billion, then there should be a worldwide population of S rank hunters of about 1,500. Though this could be skewed since for some reason in universe Korea is a place of high incidence of gates and stuff I believe was mentioned. So even if only half that average incidence rate of S rank hunters per population means 750 S rank hunters in the world at a conservative estimate. So averaging between the two, 1000 S rank hunters in the world or there about depending on death rates seems reasonable, especially incorporating how Khamish the dragon took out 100's of S ranks after the dungeon break on the west coast of America and how many S rank hunters would've been lost to the first gates spawned in the world (like how Jinwoo's dad was) as well means that 1000 could be a solid number. Meaning an S rank hunter is part of 0.00002% of the population, or 1 in every 50,000 people.
Theres way more than 31 S-ranks.. if you take the novel alone its stated Japan had >20 S-rank hunters iirc and there were more than 20 in the top of the world excluding the 5 National-rank hunters, SKorea barely had a spot in the top of the world. They even mention in the Novel NKorea has S-rank hunters and is why SKorea really wants more and China has a special division of S-rank hunter hunters. Now if he’s going off of NAMED s-rank hunters then yeah the list is very small. But, this power ranking doesn’t mean anything really by the last book because there are no hunters and a single monarch can wipe all the National ranks and S-ranks as if playing with toys.

Are we just considering Hunters that the current Anime Release includes or the Manhwa? My interpretation of “Hunter Points” wasn’t that it’s a Power Rating System but rather a contribution to society ranking system. The more assignments you take on the higher your Ranking and so fourth. Are are we including “The Disaster Class Hero”? Cause that would make things much more interesting even though it’s not entirely the same story…?
At the end? By chapter 50 he was nearly never if ever in danger. And by chapter 100% almost no one he loved was in any danger anymore as well given his gobal teleportation. I'd say he became op the second he beat best boy Igris.
Was it also rhat was using the president of korean the hunters association as a vessel, right ? The monarch called it a fragment of light, are those the same as the rulers ?
Yes. The Chairman of the Korean hunters association had the fragment of a ruler in him like the other national class heroes and sung Jin woo's dad. I think it's even implied his fragment was that of the impromptu leader/spokesman of all the rulers but I could be wrong about that.

Yess nick more solo leveling videozz
Jinwoo's dad should be number 2 since he fought 2 monarchs and held his own
Bro out here dressed like sokka😂🔥
Idk dude the dub for sds was so good. I loved it. I don’t usually like it because I find it cringy but I may have to check this one out in dub too. 😂
There are 30+ s ranks we meet/ are made aware of (us has 26) it is also stated that while the United States has the most s ranks there are other countries with many other s ranks that can be used. Though 7 national hunters are directly connected to the rulers
What about sung jin woos dad? Because like he held off 2 full power monarchs (i think) long enough for sung jin woo to get through the 2 chapter ashborne yap session
I remember there also being a german guy with a ruler, was he not a national hunter, it's been 3 years since i finished solo leveling so i don't really remember
Can we have a ranking of Jin woos shadows
Prime go gunhee probably would've solo'd all 5 national level hunters
Aleks Le kills every role he does
More solo leveling, more solo leveling, more solo leveling, more solo leveling
For real. 🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
1:24 Yeah because there are no themes or character development one could argue that there’s not even a plot, just punches and then boom and fwoosh and Look at me I’m so cool and better than anyone else.
One note I think we can all agree that a black hole is greater than planetary level as black holes devour stars no?
the rulers
Are we just considering Hunters that the current Anime Release includes or the Manhwa?
My interpretation of “Hunter Points” wasn’t that it’s a Power Rating System but rather a contribution to society ranking system. The more assignments you take on the higher your Ranking and so fourth.
Are are we including “The Disaster Class Hero”? Cause that would make things much more interesting even though it’s not entirely the same story…?
I need a video of all of your tattoos! if this video exist please add link lol
Can we get a top 10 shadows ranked and explained
In kind of ashamed I haven’t heard anything about the dub lol so now I gotta check it out lol
Jin became so OP at the end.....
I mean technically he was weak because of the ending....lol
At the end? By chapter 50 he was nearly never if ever in danger.
And by chapter 100% almost no one he loved was in any danger anymore as well given his gobal teleportation.
I'd say he became op the second he beat best boy Igris.
@@FeedMeSalt Beru is best boy and don’t you dare say otherwise
@@dvillegasproigris is the og tho
@@FeedMeSalt yes the end when it all resets
Bro was yapping for 8 until he got to the point
Honestly both are good but yeah the dub is quite fire for once
I've never been so dissatisfied over a manhwa/manga ending.
When I read “National Level hunter” I lost my shit. I thought S ranks were supposed to be the strongest to ever do it.
i wouldve thought either go gung hee or jinwoos dad was on par or above china boy
Roughly estimated. To say.
Everyone in the world Sung Jinwoo
You I'm convinced just to be annoying call him Jinwoo Sung every chance you get 😂
Just started yesterday
Was it also rhat was using the president of korean the hunters association as a vessel, right ?
The monarch called it a fragment of light, are those the same as the rulers ?
Yes. The Chairman of the Korean hunters association had the fragment of a ruler in him like the other national class heroes and sung Jin woo's dad. I think it's even implied his fragment was that of the impromptu leader/spokesman of all the rulers but I could be wrong about that.
Idts Siddharth bacchan is a vessel since the chairman of South Korea hunter association was the 4th
S rank is the top, however the gap between 2 S ranks could be larger than a gap between an E and an A rank
Where Would you place Sung Suho?
I might not be Aleks Le's biggest glazer but I'm up there😮💨👍
