      Well, the idea was when I bought it to save it from landfill. Even if I couldn't fix it, I was going to keep it for parts as I was sure I would find another Sony amp that used similar components.

    I've had a fair few early 90s sony stuff and most of them had the same dodgy power plugs (even with the same exposed cables). I enjoyed that format of video. I like the repair videos from blokes that haven't got the million dollar test bench setups!

    I've had to write off some very good receivers as their mainboard have unreplaceable MCUs and these units were barely 5 years old, nobody could supply spare boards, even the brand's ASAs

      Yeah, that's always a shame. Unless, you have a parts unit to pinch the MCU board out of, you're kind of stuffed.
