Always great, however non-glamorous, drum lessons. Keep it up.

Heel up! For me it’s way more comfortable. At first, I started to play heel down but it became more difficult at higher tempos, so I switched to heel up and I never went back. Lol! I’ve been playing now for 24yrs😊
Ps. I appreciate the tutorials you’re a great teacher!:)

I mostly play heel up but I play heel down for feathering and quieter playing. 🥁❤️

Nice video about the main thing that interferes with playing the drumset: seat hight!!!! As how I play the bass drum pedal I play both heelup and heeldown and use both issues according to the musical situation.
All the best from an amateur drummer from 🇵🇹🥁💜😎

I took your 29% rule but set it a bit higher now. Thanks for the video 👍.

Dude I've been playing for 20 years and somehow didn't know about those rules. Great stuff. Question though - at the optimal lateral distance for my height, my snare, and rack toms in particular, now feel too far away (I have to reach for them). Is this something to get accustomed to, or is there another handy rule for arm reach?

I play heel up most of the time, but heel down when playing softly.

Thank you, brother, I'm just going over the videos again. I'm playing heal up. I have not played since 1982.
So the muscle memory is way out of tune.

Heel up but I find heel grounded has more control when learning something new

I'm a new Drummer. Mostly, I play heel down, but sometimes I play heel up.

I started heel down and socks - now both and shoes.

Generally I play heal down, and change to heal up for fast double beats.

What do you think the best throne is for the price? I'm looking to spend less than $200 if possible, but a bit more won't murder me.

+ 1 to Roc N Soc recommendation. I've had mine for like 6+ years and it still looks and feels brand new.

@@toustinI recently picked up the Tama First Chair and it's hands down the best drum throne I have ever had.

Cheers for the great topic which strangly seems to not be much discussed, or given useful tips about in any manner, let alone in your SC zero-G way (free of charge catchy branding right there for your formula 😘 slap a c and a ring on it ) keep the tips 0-G ofc...lol

I’ve been practicing along with the 30min stick control video with Heather? With my feet and always fall off when I need 4 left foot hits… is this a pedal tension thing or muscle/technique sounding issue.. triples are doable but can faulter… the beater kind just pitter patters on the 4 singles…

Traditional grip.....Try it, most drummers only know match grip. Any well rounded drummer should be comfortable using both.....

heel down for speed, up for loud power

  • @ricklangro9698

I play heel up. Ive never seen a drummer play heel down except when playing at a low volume. I cant see how you can get the same power with heel down as you do with heel up. doesnt make sense.
