DOOR COUNTY: Washington Island Day Trip By Car Ferry

- Today we break away from the Door County Mainland and
scooch over to Washington island for the afternoon.
We drive the crazy curvy road to the tip of the Door County Peninsula and
take the Car Ferry across DEATH'S DOOR to Washington Island.
There, we make stops and explore Jacobsen's Museum, Schoolhouse Beach Park, Stavkirke
Scandinavian Style Church and Mountain Park Lookout Tower.

Ive spent years of my life living up north, but dang, Washington Island quickly became my favorite spot in the entire state. Its a place where time stood still and Id live there if I could afford to. The Jacobsen Museum is a must see if you are into history and antiques, the little place is chock full of treasures.
I agree with you 100% I was hoping to camp there on the island for an extended weekend this year but time is running out and it's getting cold already.
This brings a Big Smile to my face when I am watching this video because I’ve done the Ferry ride to Washington Island years ago and it brings back very fond memories of my trip up to Door County ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it. It was a nice smooth ferry ride on that day. I've taken that ferry during rough, stormy weather days. It makes it tricky driving on and off the ferry ramps.
