The biggest thing I miss about moving out of Wisconsin is visiting Door County each year. To a lesser extent, I also miss Kopp's frozen custard, Balistreri's pizza on 68th in Milwaukee, and on rare occasions Cousin's subs.

Omg dude I feel the same way!!!! Grew up in Milwaukee and now I'm in AZ. They don't have cousins which btw have awesome fries and kopps and of course door county every summer. I love AZ but miss a lot of stuff from Wisconsin.

@@hwollemann82 I lived in the Milwaukee and Chicago area and gone to Door County several times. Now living in Florida, I did go back up there to visit in July and brought back many jars of cherry jam and syrup to the Sunshine State to get a taste of Door County again. I also went back to KOPPS to get their custard which I miss, despite now that Culvers is competing and now in many states including Florida.

Leaving Lakeland Florida tomorrow. Headed to Wisconsin to ride our GoldWings. I saw this place on a calendar 100 years ago [ Joking ] we didn’t know where we were going. Now I do. Thanks for a masterfully done video young man. You earned a YT subscriber fanatic.

Highway 42 at the tip of the peninsula curves so much because it's designed that way to slow traffic for the purpose of safety - it's the last piece of road on the way to the car ferry to Washington Island. Many people are trying to make the ferry by a certain time so they would otherwise speed there especially at that last few miles.

Finally...youtubers that make informative travel videos that are about WHERE they went as to opposed to WHO they are! Excellent! We are going to Door County in two weeks and this video was great! We are looking forward to our trip!

I'm from Wisconsin and I know where Door County is. Been there. Most people don't know though so maybe you should have shown a map at the beginning of where it is in the State and where some of the locations are that you're going to talk about. Also some photos of the quaint towns there would have been good. Just suggestions. Otherwise - good presentation.

Pretty good video, pretty good overview. Minor point but some visuals aren't accurate. Like at 2:38 - the town and lavender fields are not of Washington Island for just two examples (I see one commenter says the town visual used is actually of Sturgeon Bay).
Also, the narration and visuals sometimes don't match. Sometimes the narration isn't even about the visual being shown - another location is being talked about. An okay video but odd since it's obviously using stock footage and stock facts. - The kind of video that anyone could put together including / especially by someone who hasn't been there. But these days, it's easy to find and provide accurate images of anything whether you've been to a place or not. Even Google Earth can help with that.
And as another commenter has mentioned, Nicolet is pronounced differently - it is a popular place name in the region because of the early explorer, fur trader Jean Nicolet. He was French and it's pronounced nick - oh - lay. Like Frito Lay.
Place names in the region are a mix of Native American, French, Scandinavian, German and Dutch due to the native tribes and early explorers and settlers there.

I noticed that you have a picture of downtown Sturgeon Bay in your section Washington Island. Just FYI.

At 6:43 it looks almost like a straight road to me, as long as there's no on-coming traffic.

Wha should also be mentioned is that door county is an extremely underrated food heaven. Some of my best meals I’ve had have been in door county. Whether it be chives, wild tomato, big easy, etc… you can’t go wrong. There’s even more place I haven’t even tried yet like trixies and fireside that have excellent reviews

I went to Door County when I was 11. Ñice, but a tad dull. I would rather go to Woodside Ranch, Lake Geneva or Wisconsin Dells.

DO NOT spend your time and money on this state if you are from a different state. They hate you. Honestly saying that I have never been treated like I’m from out of town as Wisconsin has. They are drunks and want every ticket they can find to just slap on ya. Like a camping knife was to long(not concealed) and confiscated. U can pick a stick up off the ground on a path, that’s a ticket. Pls consider Minnesota nice. Or Michigan. They hate you. I have no criminal record and spend allll my time and money outside. But never again to Wisconsin. After my third visit, it’s consistent, I’m done. Don’t go

Nick-oh-LAY', not Nick-oh-let. Always research before recording.

Thanks for the feedback. Our apologies on the mispronunciation. While we can't do videos only on places we have lived, we have visited and love the area! We can't get everything right all of the time, but we will keep trying our best. Thanks for watching.
