Drew spoke my language and epitomized my philosophy: "Not Everyone Gets To Be Me". I am a Poker King (Retired). Look at the RB production that Drew enjoyed. Name those RBs off... I'll start with Duece and then Reggie and then Sproles and gadget guys like Lance Moore-- and then PT and then AK41 and Ingram... even Murray... we ran the ball. There's more to the play-action game than going downfield. We need to get the safeties with their backs turned to the QB and we can win with AK41 ALL DAY on those underneath passes. I'll take AK41 against a DB all day. My odds on that are 85/15.

This was the same situation the year before with all the other quarterbacks but everyone seems to overlook that. Not saying Winston is a great QB but he never go his fair shot.

Tom Brady and Stafford won a SB in their first year with new teams and people forgot that it’s not normal for a brand new veteran QB in a whole new organization takes time to flourish. They finished 9-8 but he was 4-1 to finish his season with elite QB play. The Version of this team you saw at the end is more likely the one you’ll see to start the beginning of the next season.
Being a saints fan for 34 years I said the same thing some us never gave him a chance when the OC was horrible and the OL was horrible and he was hurt he still wasn’t that bad

We will not bring up our base opinion on why a large segment like Rattler, but it was the same when we had Winston. That being said, Carr is the 4th rated SAINTS play caller, a top 10 QB in the league, and basically is used to the culture. It's up to Kubiak to get his offensive philosophy in place. The ability of the NEW O-LINE to protect will be 75% of our ability to stretch the field.
I think it’s because Dennis Allen wanted him so bad, and right now, there are some Saints fans who don’t trust Dennis Allen’s decision making. We’ll see how this year turns out. There have been coaches in the past that have turned their win percentage around.

For me, it's less about discrediting and understanding that a lot of the media were hypocritical in the sense that "patience" wasn't preached no other season after Drew. Carr killed it at the end of the season; sadly he sucked most of it. Just hope he uses that momentum we saw him finish out with.

@@mitchellmilano3789 What I'm saying is the media is now wanting us to have a level of understanding that they never preached since Drew retired. We had 2 QBs that finished with a combine 9-3 record with one of the worse supporting cast that we have seen in some time, yet I'm supposed to practice patience when a QB has had everything handed to him but yet given excuses that legitimately can be applied to every other QB since Drew has retired? The offensive line just didn't become bad with Carr; it has been in 2021. Coaching just didn't start being bad when Carr became a Saint. Our media just could no longer place the blame on the QBs since Carr was hyped up that entire offseason and was not good for most of the season. The run game just didn't become bad this season. It has been bad since we let Murray leave for Baltimore. I'm rooting for Carr and I hope the last 4 games of last season propels us, but I also keep the same energy across the board.

Jameis has a 6-2 record when healthy. It's funny how we can speak to Carr's injuries but surprisingly silent when we see that Jameis played 2/3 games with a broken back and ruptured tendon. Having this attitude for one and not the other kinda makes one "hypocritical."

Although i dont think Carr is the long term guy, i have to admit, since Brees retired we haven't given any of our QBs a fair chance with that O line. And no way should Pete Carmichael have been retained after DA's first season. Still very excited about our draft picks and Klint Kubiak. Gonna be a fun season. #whodat

Yep. His shoulder was hurt in the 3rd game of the season. He also had broken ribs later on. He said his shoulder never was right during the season and still hurting after and didn’t throw again until March.
Carr is as tough as nails. Can Jordan said that Carr was a beast for playing hurt. I remember for the Raiders she dislocated his ring finger of his throwing hand on third down and he didn’t miss a play. They reset his finger on the sideline and he played the rest of the game with a glove on his hand, even throwing a game winning TD with 2 minutes left to win the ball game.
It’s time Saints fans stop with their ridiculous criticism of him and learn about their QB, because he is going nowhere. He’s your QB u til he retires in his 40’s.
Its would be nice for y’all to know that he wears that left arm sleeve during the games in honor of Koby Bryant. He was good friends with Koby, and he admired his mamba mentality. Also when he was young, he said he used to always dream of having the ball in his hands on game winning drives. He leads the league in game winning drives and best record in OT among active QB’s.
He is also a Christian guy, like Brees. He’s a great guy and everyone that’s ever played with him loves him except for the cancer MT.

I got to say as a new comer to the Saints community, as a long time Raider fan who has watched Carr his entire career; I am disappointed in Saints fans. Carr did not deserve the hate. 3 broken ribs, 2 concussions, 2 shoulder injuries, and still had a better QB rating than Josh Allen and P. Mahomes, and right there with L. Jackson. Add to that the universal admission that the play calling sucked with an out dated offensive scheme. Do the effing math. Oh blame Carr. Yeah right.

Imma shout out to my O-Line, Miller and Williams. I have no issue with AK41 and his ability to pound down the middle. But WHY? That's yall's job. AK41 in space is how we win... but we need you guys to make them respect the gut. You guys get going downhill and a defense can't afford to worry about the perimeter, they have to respect the gut. Sneaky me says do that and just wait until AK41 gets his good shot. AK41 turns what looked like a 6-7 yard gain into 50. The STAR on our offensive side of the team is AK41.

Drew spoiled all of us. Drew had an uncanny ability to know where the defense was weak and he had it in his mind where he was going with the ball. He looked off the safeties as good as anyone I have ever seen. I play poker watching where everyone else doesn't wanna go. That's where I go. Drew was like a master poker man. We don't need Derek to do that. Just allow him to play his game. His game will greatly benefit with an average of 150YPG on the ground with a minimum of two rushing TDs per game.

We gave him that fair chance last year and except for the last 4 games he was not even a top 20 qb in the nfl. So no we dont want to get our hopes up again because we know Carr is not the long term answer at Qb for the saints.

DC has never been a world beater. It's not like we don't have over a decade of performance to understand what he is. He doesn't suck, and he's no Drew Brees (who is?). He is an average NFL QB. He can certainly win games and he typically will not be the reason we lose games. In other words, he's good enough to win, but don't expect him to will his team to victory. Last year was a 'down' year for him, mostly due to the worst O line in the NFL and Pete Carmichael just phoning it in with the most predictable and boring offense in the league. New OC, new O line talent- this year will be better than last.

6. Much of Carr’s game is about short passes and check downs. His efficient stats are misleading. You watch a slow prodding game and Derek car has a 97 qb rating and you say he’s playing good. But Patrick Mahomes had a 92 qb rating last year. Does that mean Carr is better? No way. Numbers lie.
My only issue is that we talk about a 9-8 season like it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened.
